We stayed here 1 night on our way to Michoacán. Simple and Clean hotel. Very nice staff all around including overnight security. The security kindly asked us to move our car a few spots over so we would be on their security cameras :-) I didn't hear any noice from the neighborhood. I was in room 206 and I would stay here again. No views but we just needed sleep. One side of the building faces the parking lot.
Quiet room with a quiet air conditioner. Has a few English speaking channels on the television. The front staff was helpful with ordering a pizza for us. The breakfast had a good selection. Very comfortable beds.
for the price, well worth it. stayed in room 627 with double beds. good size room. the hallways do get warm and the air conditioner in room works really well. the blackout curtains come in handy too. i found this room to be quiet and didn't hear any of the foot traffic of the hallway. wifi connection is strong throughout hotel. breakfast is pretty good especially the beans. :) fresh fruit and coffee was good from the machine. staff was friendly and helpful. location is great. close to university of La Salle, walking distance to starbucks and some restaurants (Bonanza is a good place to eat). helpful there are computers to use in lobby. highly recommend.
First time staying overnight in Mexico, and I'm not sure what I was expecting. The hotel is clean and has everything one should need. The bed was extremely comfortable. The only big issue I came across was the low water pressure for the shower and the hot water wasn't really that hot.
Stopped during our road trip through Mexico. Found this hotel to. Be safe and clean. Nice breakfast in the morning. Book ahead to get batter rates, ask for bigger beds, rooms with double beds are two twin beds so be aware.
I have stayed at the City Express-Ciudad Obregon at least 3 times and it is a great place to spend the night. It has a handy location just off highway 15 near a VIPS restaurant and other restaurants. The hotel is relatively new and offers a breakfast consisting of fruit, scrambled eggs, cereal, juice and milk as well as some items not found on your typical free hotel breakfast such as tortilla chips, cold ham, lettuce among other things. The coffee is from an automatic unit which provides individual cups which resembled instant coffee. As an American, I assume that a new hotel has both heating and air conditioning, however THIS HOTEL DOES NOT HAVE HEAT because it is seldom needed in this part of Mexico. However, this has been a cold winter in Ciudad Obregon, cold enough to do some 10 million dollars damage to local crops. Extra blankets are available. I don't know if other hotels have heat, so if you are planning to spend a night in this area in cold weather, it might be worthwhile to check on the heating system.
I have stayed at most of the better hotels in Obregon and have been mostly satisfied with the service and stay in all of those. City Express combines all of the things in a hotel that I need for a business trip - good, convenient and secure parking, pleasant staff, comfortable room and bed with everything working and the typical US style continental breakfast (included with room). On top of this the rates are the best in Obregon. Obregon has historically been more expensive than Hermosillo but City Express has rates more in line with Hermosillo. The hotel is relatively new and I hope that the services and amenities do not degrade with age as has happened with some of the others. Wi-fi is the best of any in Obregon.
I found this hotel on line and was surprised at how new it was. The hotel has handy parking and is close to shopping centers and restaurants. While it was not advertised, the hotel has a free happy hour offering self-serve liquor, beer, soft-drinks and snacks. There are two elevators and an Ice machine is available at the lobby level. The single room was extremely clean, with a queen sized bed. There is cable TV in the room and the Wi-Fi is excellent. I would definitely recommend this hotel, and will make it my regular stopping place in Ciudad Obregon. The listed street location was not good, it should say that it is on Calle Norte No. 901 and Av. Lic. Miguel Alemán. I could not find the hotel using my GPS either by name or address. I think the GPS problem was due to the newness of the hotel. I found the hotel because I had been in the same area 2 weeks before.
First time staying in this hotel in Obregon. Everything was ok. Reception, rooms, bathroom, service, standard continental breakfast. Nice people in counter. Air conditioning a bit noisy but did not use as the weather was not bad at that time staying. Sometime low water pressure. TV did not have to many channel choices. I would say this is a good choice for business as it is very easy going hotel and young personnel willing to give you the best service possible.
I used to stay at the Quality Inn on my way to and from the States. But, from now on I will stay here. I booked via Trip Advisor Hotels.com, rate of 50.00 with the huge Mexican tax was over 60.00 but still a huge bargain. Free cocktail, snacks in the evening, adequate Continental breakfast. Rooms are modern, no frills. Air conditioner new, quiet and they give you an extra blanket. I just wish Mexico would discover the washcloth. Will definitely stay here again.
