Not the best of places. It was a little shabby and damp. The rooms are not great. Looked like it was built well but not maintained afterwards. The Rooms are large though and food is good. Charges are also very low. It has free wifi which is not great if you are far from the reception or on the upper floors.
Arrived at hotel was disgusted filthy dirty out of date rooms. Damages furniture, fowl spelling do not book! Was so bad we had to leave and find another hotel! On a main busy road, no parking. Disgusting that booking.com are advertising this hotel. The place needs to be shut down.
This is a very dirty hotel in a very noisy area without a lift, steep staircase at main entrance, the room has a very small window by the ceiling, uncomfortable old furniture, smelly room, breakfast is very basic (instant coffee) Friendly staff.
Horrible hôtel , so dirty, dont go there, the rooms are so small and so dirty, everything is broken like the window.. Doesnt have shampoo and the breakfast is just eggs or an indian dishes. Its better to sleep outside than in this hotel. Even the people who work here doesnt Know how to talk english and doesnt have respect. Will never come back here. And the door hardly close.
Booked this hotel on Booking.com & was very unpleasantly surprised by what we found.The pictures supplied by Booking.com on the website to accompany this hotel were not what we found, disgraceful!!!! Finding the place was the first part of our ordeal, we drove by this place several times before we gave up & phoned the number supplied.We told the person that we were parked outside The Royal Blu Hotel & could we get directions but we were told that this was the hotel but just had a different name, very strange indeed!! We went to the reception which looked like a taxi reception from the 80 & the whole place looked grubby & well outdated.On receiving our room keys we were treated to some more eye opening surprises, smoke alarm covered with plastic bag, sockets hanging off wall, hole in door, dirty shower cubicle, shower head hanging off, cracked bedroom windows which allowed even more noise from the extremely busy road & general noisy environment outside to severely interrupt our sleep.Breakfast bought more surprises, ordering some toast for the kids which came neatly cut into triangles but unfortunately was stuck together with half a jar of marmalade which we didn't expect & certainly the kids didn't. I could go on, so the moral of the tale is, don't EVER go near this delightful little gem of an absolute dump!!
Spent ages looking for the hotel and then had to call. Was told it is not even called the Essex In but the Royal Blue! Bit difficult to find if it doesnt even exist. There was no parking, had to park on the road in very unpleasant area. The place was up some stairs above a shop. The stairs up to reception were dirty with threadbare carpets. We were shown to the room. There was a mismatch of furniture, it was filthy. There were cobwebs and dust everywhere. We left quite quickly. The person behind the desk did not even ask why we were leaving. What a waste of £50. Disgusting slum
This was the 2nd hotel that laterooms.com sent us to after we complained about the original hotel that we had booked and believe it or not it was worst than the 1st one. Again it was dirty, smelly, noisy and disgusting. Everywhere was dirty and there was bugs crawling on the beds and food remains on the wardrobe. Our feet were sticking to the carpet. We left at once. This hotel should be condemned and not available for people to book. We're not fussy people a basic clean room is all we would ask for and if I could give a minis score I would. Please stay away from this hotel. We will never book with laterooms.com again It was a terrible experience and they weren't much help. At this point I feel that the standard of rating for hotels in England is very poor Sorry!
This has got to be the worst, most disgusting place, I have ever stayed. I do no recommend this to anyone. It's not a hotel....it doesn't even meet the standards of a youth hostel. Filthy! Avoid like the plague!
Picked due to all airport hotels being full. Very basic. Bedding clean, shower room clean, carpets aged and could do with a clean. Furniture very basic. Steep stairs to access. Lots of street noise. No air conditioning. About £20 to £25 taxi from LHR Small eating area for breakfast. No restaurant.
