Very good budget hotel in Rotherham-Sheffield. We stayed here for 1 night. They have ample parking space, clean rooms and mattress. Good sleep quality. They have a restaurant too. We had buffet breakfast - it is at 2nd level Regular English breakfast. Overall, a pleasant stay for business needs - free open WiFi.
Stayed overnight got there late but was made welcome although it took our driver some tries to reach hotel on phone. Room was lovely liked the shower! Wondered purpose of green light in bathroom was it a nightlight? Food was ok, liked the pork ( on coach tour menu) breakfast waitress was lovely but kept very busy due to slight change of venue for our breakfast, fruit salad was excellent Lift door shut on me and didn't open when it caught me, guest came out so I went in and lift door shut on me! No harm done. Slept well.
A really great hotel. Despite refurbishment of dining area you would not notice nor did it distract from a really great nights stay. From the moment we arrived. Late to the time we left next day their attention to detail to make our stay comfortable was the best. Bedrooms clean, bathroom immaculate. Good food, there temporary dining room better than most permanent dining rooms we have been in. Cannot thank them enough for their care
Two nights stay, although I did not really enjoy the hotel. Reception was quick & easy, the room was a good size, everything worked & the bathroom was spotless with a great shower. The hotel is undergoing some renovation in the dining facilities & the temporary site is absolutely soulless. Added to that on the first night if the service was any slower it would have gone backwards, plus the staff delivered items with little grace. The second night was better but still slow, although breakfast staff were good each morning. For me the biggest problem was the dual carriageway outside the hotel. It never stopped & made sleeping rather difficult. I guess that as I live in a rural environment the noise was just too much.
Whilst this wasn't exactly a last minute decision, my wife & I decided to have a change of scenery for the weekend and chose this HE, knowing it was near Meadowhall so she could indulge in her favourite pastime, ...retail therapy; it was a "late call" All in all though we had a very pleasant stay. Plenty of free car parking, (remember to log in with big brother), a friendly greeting, pleasant decor, clean and tidy room & bathroom, queen sized bed, and so on. As well as location, we choose this HE because of the advertised leisure amenities, and indeed we made use of these, which we found pleasantly enjoyable. All told our visit cost us under £100 at the IHG members rate and that included B&B and the pool, spa & gym. I felt really good value. Feeling lazy, we also ate our evening meal at the bar, and again, no complaints, a good chicken pie & fish and chips were consumed. This then was a solid 4 out of 5. The breakfast I thought was good too, although the retail therapist was less enthusiastic! If I had to gripe, a little attention was required to the ceiling in our shower, and the dressing rooms in the leisure area could have been cleaner. I would add that currently a refurbishment is taking place to create a new restaurant area, and this may have contributed to some of the retail therapists breakfast grumbles. I am sure though that once completed the new eating area will complement the bar and the rest of the facility. The hotel is easy to access, located off junction 33 on the M1, and did I say handy for Meadowhall............... if that's your thing! I would revisit the hotel.
We've recently returned from a wedding that we came to at the hotel. We stayed here over night as well. Check in was quick and easy, we were On the top floor and in a double room. The rooms are a good size. But our room only had a shower which wasn't ideal as I'd just had my hair and makeup done and needed to wash tan off so had to stand against the wall to avoid ruining it all. The hotel and room were very clean and tidy. The wedding was lovely, although it was very quick and a the coordinator just kept going on about profits and timings we did feel a little rush. Also there were big gaps in between everything on the day which could have been a little different. The food was delicious. We had the wedding meal and breakfast. The breakfast is self serve full English and pastries and cereals.
I would like to start with saying when I was booking the hotel Natalie was very good at giving me infomation I needed to know about the hotel. I arrived to the hotel with a car park that's a good size and easy to park. I checked in at a very busy time and cloe was brilliant she acknowledged that I was platinum member and had my key card all ready for me all I had to do is just sign in with the members list. I rang before and spoke to the duty manager Kevin and had great customer service and was able to assist me promptly with my request. The hotel was brilliant really good food and good options of drinks at the bar. We was at a party and was able to retire to the residents bar where we had drinks late Simon and Kyle on the night team really looked after me and my party the service was outstanding all night from start to end. I really think this hotel is one of best in area that iv stayed in and I will definitely recommend it to anyone.
Met at reception by friendly welcoming staff, and this continued to be the ethos throughout the property. Nothing too much trouble for the staff. Room spacious, clean and air conditioning a very welcome feature this past weekend! The breakfast buffet plentiful; evening meal good too. Would book again if I have to return to this area.
Was here for business for a total of six nights over a 2 week period - happy with my stay at the Holiday Inn. Location wise being on the dual carriageway means it's not near anything of note but the location does ensure a quick getaway onto the M1 so that's a positive. The rooms were good, nice small bar area (though I felt the restaurant food was a bit inconsistent) and friendly staff.
We attended a meal and presentation evening here this June. The white wine at the bar was served warm and had to be changed. The Patè starter was good, followed by what seemed to be pre prepared reheated pork slices with dried up vegetables. The chocolate dessert was dry and served with squirty cream , not even fresh cream. The staff were very good, polite, friendly and efficient. But we wouldn't recommend it for a meal. The foyer is attractively decorated, but the function room we were in was quite tired looking and needs refurbishing
