Stayed at this hotel for a business trip. The meeting rooms were ok and facilities were ok. My room was right up in the eves of the building and was a little tatty round the edges. Could do with a good refurb. However the bathroom was clean and acceptable. The reception area was quite modern with comfy seats in the cafe/bar area. All staff I interacted with were friendly and helpful.

A really great weekend with my girl friends. I was here earlier in the year and after the warm welcome, I'm back!!! The friendly lady on reception got us checked in and made a big point of sorting the parking as we had come from all over the uk in our little cars. We did not have dinner in the hotel, we did share a couple of bottles of wine. i liked the handy plugs for charging our phones. After enjoying the swimming pool last time, we certainly took advantage of the leisure facilities again. The only downside was the chlorine was a little strong, but i borrowed my friend my spare swim goggles and we were doing laps like a Michael Phelps! Breakfast buffet was okay, shame about the wait on the eggs, it let is down a little. A great stay again, i would certainly come back, like a home from home!

Due to attend a wedding function at the hotel we decided to book a room for an overnight stay. The room was clean and the bed was very comfortable and had a good nights sleep. The staff were friendly and helpfull.Based on our stay we would recommend this hotel.

I attended this hotel by car to meet a client. It is just off a very busy dual carriageway so my attention was understandably on the traffic. I parked in the car park and met my client there. I later received a parking demand for £60. Apparently cameras are on the entrance and exit. Any signage which exists was not seen by me. In my view this is a trap and I suspect the hotel makes more from these charges than letting their rooms. I recommend finding another hotel in Rotherham. If I could give zero stars via trip adviser I would.

During a recent trip to the UK, I stayed at the Holiday Inn Rotherham-Sheffield Hotel. This is an older property, but it is very clean and the prices are very reasonable. The food and the service at this property were good and were very affordable. So if you're ever in the Sheffield area in England, I'd strongly recommend that you and your family stay at the Holiday Inn Rotherham-Sheffield Hotel.

I like this hotel: the staff are very welcoming and do their best to make your stay as pleasant as possible. It has a great pool and good gym: almost a leisure centre with a hotel attached. However, you can't ignore the aging infrastructure. Reasons to be cautious before booking: - Although partially refurbished (new bathroom; new linen; some LED reading lights) the room did look very tired with old furniture and carpets - Rooms facing the road are very noisy. The windows are probably from when it was originally built so the noise insulation is poor. Probably worth asking fro a room at the rear of the hotel - My room was very dark with inadequate lighting for working at the desk. The stand lamp in the room was hard wired into the socket so could not be moved and there was only one dull room light which did not illuminate the desk. However there are many positives: - Nice room upgrade for Spire members - Refurbished public areas - This hotel does hospitality very well with very pleasant staff who go out of their way to make you welcome in the hotel. - Very nice pool and better than average gym. Neither were crowded when I was there - Well stocked breakfast For me though, this made an excellent overnight although probably not a hotel to stay in more than two nights. The positives, particularly the welcome and staff, outweigh the wear and tear.

We stayed for the night whilst going to an event at Sheffield Arena, only 10-15 minutes drive away, £8.00 in a taxi. Staff are great especially within the Leisure Club, the lady when we arrived on the Friday happily showed us around the pool & changing rooms when we went for a look to see what it was like and explained everything - including they have towels for you to use so no need to take your own or take the hotel towels down and again the gentleman in the morning was very helpful and chatty. Hotel room spacious - beware of the shower as it can overflow if you have the shower head angled towards the shower screen but very powerful. Didn't have chance to have dinner but breakfast was lovely, The fire alarm did go off for around an hour and a half on the Saturday morning however the staff were still smiling after been shouted at by hotel guests, glad we went for a swim before breakfast as I think it would of been very busy when everyone got an early wake up call!! My only faults would be - Bathroom fan a little noisy but switched off with the lights so didn't disturb and seemed like generators outside our bedroom window but again went off late evening so not too bad.

Hotel was the usual Holiday Inn, very nice welcome at Reception, easy check in and more importantly a very easy check out. My room was large and very clean though a bit noisy from the dual carriageway. However the restaurant was very average but so expensive. I paid £19 for a steak which was very over priced for the quality of meat and I nearly sent the bearnaise sause back.

My family and myself stayed here for 1 night. 2 x executive rooms and 1 x double. The hotel itself is ok, modern communal areas on ground floor. However the rooms could do with a little TLC. Doors into rooms tired looking and carpet in one exec room quite stained. We decided to eat in the restaurant rather than going out for dinner. Big mistake. Firstly the prices. I know it is a hotel but £16 for fish and chips?? Ok, it must be worth the price you think. But no, chips dry and more batter than fish. My partner had a burger and it was very dry. One of the kids had a build your own wrap, not impressed. Bit of ham and some tomatoes and 3 huge wraps. On the plus side the breakfast was tasty and well cooked. Would I stay again? Perhaps. But definitely wouldn't eat in restaurant again.

Spent 1 night here recently, requesting a double/ king sized bed. The booking had been made via expedia and on arrival my partner clarified with the front desk that the room she was putting us into had a double bed.......yes she ( Holly ) said. Back to reception my partner went, not amused, to be told there were no other rooms available. Holly was unable to explain why she told us in the 1st place it was a double. Whilst i understand that supposedly the request did not come through to the hotel from expedia, the attitude of the front desk and the duty manager exacerbated the issue, which could have been easily resolved by them offering to make up the room as a double, using the 2 single beds, instead we had to suggest it. Really disappointing stay and again the attitude at front desk was appalling, even telling me when I asked for head office or complaints contact details, 'we don't have a head office'. As a gold card member staying at lots of holiday inns, I was appalled by the lack of service and the poor attitude. The restaurant was another matter... the staff there were fantastic and very responsive and the food excellent.
