My husband surprised me with concert tickets and an overnight stay at the Holiday Inn Express. We went around the block a couple of times but eventually arrived. Parking was limited and ended up parking in disabled bay after checking with the very helpful reception staff. Check in was very good. The room was lovely with the most amazing shower cubicle. Only downside was not being able to understand the air conditioning. Tea and Coffee complimentary. Breakfast was served till 11.00am. However bit hit and miss with selections running out. Watered down orange juice and brown sauce. Tea and Coffee machines were okay although not clear on the size of cups. Check out was good but disappointed that we had to pay £6 for car parking. On the whole very nice hotel and would definitely stay again.

good friendly staff. Cannot fault the service at all . spot on. everyone v helpful. hotel is in its own grounds with a nice lake. great breakfast, bar prices reasonable. we stayed for our daughters graduation from Sheffield hallam uni. easy taxi rides to city hall. at about 6 pounds each way. we all had upgraded rooms at no extra cost! comfy bed. slept well. bathroom clean but a little tatty around the bath etc.main room ok but bathroom really need renovating . room key card was faulty and we changed it 3 times which was irritating. we had drink in bar and retired to our room at 11.30 but could not get in room for 45 mins. until a manual key was found by night staff ! we were offered a free drink plus receptionist took 25 % off bill as compensation so thanks for that! all in all good hotel.... and we would stay again.

Stayed here as my wife was getting masters from university.Turned up 5pm no problems checking in and found they had a restaurant as my father in law couldn't walk far.We came down for meal and Was very suprised at variety of meals as I was meat eater,my wife vegetarian and father in law restricted diet but we all found something on menu, food was good and prices reasonable. The bar was good and had good range of beers etc as well as some good Whisky which cost me a bit.Parking is very cheap at £6.00 for 24 hours and quite secure. It is only a pre booked £4.50 taxi ride to city centre.or 10 minutes walk.Rooms of very good standard and excellent bathroom with double sized shower.Overall very happy with stay and would go back

Very clean spacious room with a good sized bathroom. Comfy bed with good clean bedding. Well appointed so easy access to town centre and trams, breakfast ok. Not a lot of choice but well cooked. Friendly staff so will definetly stay again.

Things seemed ok when I checked in. There were no doubles, so had to have a twin. Thought would be fine. The bed was awful though. Really poor quality mattress I woke up with a stiff neck and back. Then had more issues. There was no iron in the room so I asked reception for one. They said there is 'no room service', so I need to collect it myself. Since when was dropping an iron off room service?? I got showered and changed and collected the iron. The first one didn't work because the plug was broken. I had to go a second time. After I'd ironed a shirt I had to get changed again. Went down to have breakfast, the hot breakfast was limited and looked most unappealing. I got up and left and had breakfast in the office. I now stay at the Hampton by Hilton which is much better,I can't fault that hotel and I highly recommend it. This hotel could be a lot better, but the management is clearly not doing a good job in my opinions. The staff were good and helpful though, so have no complaints about the service. It's just a badly managed hotel from what I can see. Won't be going back.

This is a great hotel and excellent value for money. The rooms were very comfortable with good quality beds and a very nice bathroom. Parking is available on-site at a cost but it’s worth it given the proximity to the city centre. The tram to Meadowhall and the arena is just a short walk away.

What a lovely hotel and room, excellent helpful staff especially the lovely Holly who was extremely helpful would recommend to anybody thanks, the room was ready at an early time and spotless. Thanks the manageress for help

Fairly easy to find, just a short stroll from train station to the wonderfully named- Blonk St. first impressions count and certainly the hotel lobby was clean and tidy inside with a nice welcome at reception from Beryl, absolutely no delay in getting my room card or directions to the stairs. Room was spacious, decent enough facilities, with a what you could say a decent view - the hotel is close to a few takeaways, plenty variety to choose from, kebabs to Tunisian to KFC. Breakfast was spot on - crispy bacon & decent scrambled eggs, couldn’t fault it. However, let’s finish with my headline - I had a ridiculously priced pint of lager from the bar, £5.50 is what you might expect to pay in a 4* hotel, and even that’s at the top end, The a Crowne Plaza in a Birmingham aren’t even that steep -certainly not what you expect to pay in a motel in Sheffield, sadly I only had 1 as I don’t claim expenses on grossly overcharged goods, get real and charge within your price bracket for what you are, your prices would certainly put me off returning.

Stayed here in october and it was Great Nice clean rooms with plenty of space Hotel staff were friendly and well presented who were willing to help with anything put to them Breakfast was as expected as we have stayed in Holiday Inn Expresses before Bar was a bit pricey but you cant have it all can you....haha Stopping again in January so that speaks for itself

Was there for 2 nights. Service was okay. Especially service at the morning breakfast could be improved. Breakfast was okay. Surprised to see the lifts were unclean and were not attended for a day. Overall stay was okay.
