I can say the hotel room is big than other city hotels, we r happy with this. But the service was really really terrible. We have lesson to learnt. We booked 2 nights. The second day when we return and want have a shower around 7pm but just realized the room cleaner did not refresh our towels and face towels. Then We called the reception asked why they did not refresh the used towels. She said because we did not placed the towels on the ground, which means they won't refreshed the towels if they were not on ground even they'v been used. I am a little confused, seriously? I never heard about this from any hotel I lived. Then, the lady said she was quite busy, and she will send the new towels later. Then wait more than 2hours, call again, she said there is only one people in reception, if she go to get the towel, nobody there, and tell us to wait 15 more mins. Then another half hour passed, it was around 9.30pm. Called again, she said 10 more mins, what? Is such a big international hotel served in this way and tempo, with excuses and ridiculous reasons? Finally, at 10pm I have my towels, 'so lucky'. By the way, the breakfast here is no good. Latte tasted like water, and other food like from supermarket, too.

I'm not a fan of mega-chains, but on this occasion we needed somewhere at short notice near to Ponds Forge. Well, we could not fault this hotel, everything about it was superb: spotlessly clean, well located, with staff who couldn't do enough for us. Sincere thanks to everyone there, we will definitely return.

Whilst the hotel was acceptable for the price (£120 per night) they have in fact currrenty charged me twice. Upon checking in, they took what they said was a "Pre Authorisation". nothing strange there, however I expected as normally happens for it to be cleared off when I payed at the end of the stay. They have in fact put through two seperate transactions with two different authorisation codes both of which now sit on my account reducing my available balance. The first has been heldnow for for five days and the second three days.. This is not the normal practice as I understand it the pre authorisation should either have been completed and paid towards the final bill, or cancelled if a new transaction was being put through. I spoke to the receptionist and the manager at the hotel to try to get this rectified but was just told "you will have to wait, it's standard practice" This has totally destroyed my trust in what I thought to be a reputable hotel chain. Not even an apology has been offered.

Don't be put off that this hotel is a little off the tourist trail... it's quiet, clean and very well run. Wonderful super king bed and fabulous shower. Quiet. Stayed on the 7th floor - highly recommend this for the views towards the city.

Good quality, mid-range hotel in convenient location for a lot of Sheffield attractions. First impressions poor because of lack of parking despite relatively early arrival, followed by very slow check-in. Not the clerk's fault because she seemed to be dealing with a fussy customer but her colleague standing next to her made absolutely no effort to assist other customers in the queue and looked to be fiddling with her till. Room on the seventh floor was very comfortable and clean but noise from traffic was noticeable through the night. Breakfast was acceptable although one coffee machine was defective. Restaurant area gave the impression it hadn't been cleaned since dinner service. At check-out I had a £5 charge added for parking. I wasn't previously aware of this and mentioned it to the clerk but she just seemed to find it rather funny. Probably won't stay here again because my employer has moved its business to another chain but wouldn't rush to return anyway.

Difficulty in finding hotel- one way sytem caught us out! But once in the repception staff were very welcoming. Our rooms on the 6th floor were lovely. The super kingsized bed was very comfortable and the decor relaxing and pleasant. We had good views across the cily - and were overlooking the carpark so could check on car! bathroom very modern and spotless- loved the shower. Not sure about what complaints about breakfast are- we found plenty of choice be it hot or cold, a fast toaster and coffee machine that also makes lovely hot chocolate. The hotel is centrally located and you can walk to the shops and bars quickly. Would definitely recommend this hotel. parking charge is £5 for 24 hours but well worth it. There is a car park next door- not sure what the charges are though.Difficulty in finding hotel- one way sytem caught us out! But once in the repception staff were very welcoming. Stayed at this hotel after a concert at Sheffield arena. Well situated for Arena. Hotel was clean and comfortable. All staff I met during my one night stay were helpful and friendly. 3 friends sharing one room with breakfast was extremely good value.

As i stay in this hotel quite a bit due to it being close to Ponds Forge swimming pool, i have been able to see it quiet and like this weekend, busy....it was rammed.. Hockey Teams, swimming teams ,just a full bank holiday hotel with all staff hands to the pumps, not saying it went 100% smooth as we had some challenges we hadn't had in the past but it was only to be expected from such a busy weekend, so if anybody reading this is worried about how they cope when it is busy then don't worry, you will be looked after here the staff are always fantastic and do all they can to look after you. All the staff are great but Holly needs a mention as she is an absolute star and a credit to the place. Thank you to Gemma this morning for her words and actions overnight, it is very nice your night staff listened last night. See you again soon

First impressions weren't great reception staff very unhappy. Slow check in. Told to hold on whilst she blankly stared at a piece of paper. Rooms where a great size. Lovely bathroom but there were several lights out. Muck on the walls and the cups provided still had coffee in the bottom. Bed was broken and sloped at one side. Breakfast was ok and the location was great.

Stay at this hotel quite frequent and must say that the staff are 5 star, Holly always makes you feel welcome when you arrive and Megan behind the bar is always ready to keep you company and serve drinks. Gemma has a well organised team who keep the hotel feeling brand new and modern with the friendliness of feeling at home. KP always serves a good meal and I wouldn't even look at staying anywhere else whilst in Sheffield.
