Booked last minute, needed a mobility friendly bathroom - managed to get one right next to the lifts, room was clean and tidy, bathroom/wetroom was huge, the hairdryer was missing but reception arranged for one to be delivered asap - comfy beds (didn't realise it would be twin beds but OK for one night), great tv, didn't stay for breakfast as we had to be somewhere early - reception staff very friendly and helpful, only downside was the pre authorisation on the credit card, not particularly comfortable paying that way - especially as it was for £20 more than the room cost, we should get that back within 10 days which if I had known I would not have booked, would have preferred to pay the invoice for the room cost only at the time of booking as we have done at Premier Inn
I have only stayed in two holiday inn express hotels in the past and wasn’t impressed. This hotel has changed my mind. Lovely spacious room. Nice facilities. Breakfast was very nice and plenty to choose. Great location. Would stay again. Only very minor niggle was the TV was a nightmare to work out how to use. It also came on randomly in the middle of the night. Very strange
Can highly recommend this Holiday Inn Express. Very clean comfortable hotel with a good breakfast option. Staff very friendly & polite & professional. Will definitely stay again. Excellent car parking
Stayed for a wedding in nearby Sheffield. This is a clean, smart, effective hotel. Good quality, good value and incredibly good, friendly staff. Its essentially a budget chain in the mould of a Premier Inn etc but its good value and will revisit the brand again.
Very clean and tidy hotel with friendly staff and excellent health club . Great value for money room which was booked two nights prior to the visit. Choice of meals was very good too. The takeaway room service is an excellent idea.
Went here for the NYE Party last night which was family friendly. We arrived for the venue opening just after 7pm. We were greeted with bucks fizz which was awful. The function room hasn't been set out properly for people to get in and out to the toilet etc. An elderly gentleman needed assistance each time because the openings in between tables were far too narrow for an able bodied person to get past comfortably never mind an elderly gentleman on crutches trying to negotiate the children running about (Who were having a great time) The food was a buffet style effort. Each table called to collect theirs. Selection of cold and hot foot but to be honest apart from dishes services in actually correct warning facilities everything was cold including chips, chicken nuggets, hot dogs etc. We were only the 3rd or 4th table to be called so the ones last I dread to think what they thought. We left at 10am party due to boredom and partly due to myself and brother feeling under the weather anyway. I couldn't see as we missed anything to be honest. The staff were efficient and polite for the most part but me mum was short changed by the bar staff good job she checked! I didn't attend last year but my parent did who booked again with us as a family after the had a fantastic time and great food last year they have said it was poor compared to last year. I have nothing to compare it to. It was £160 for 4 people and you still paid for drinks. I attended a Xmas party at a different venue a week previous where is was £50pp 3 course meal which was lovely, free bar and disco. Would I say the £160 was worth it last night? No. We paid for a rubbish buffet, disco lights and a DJ. Only people on the dancefloor were the kids by the time we left at 10pm this hadn't changed. Sorry holiday inn we won't be booking next year!
I didnt know what to expect when I booked a room for 3 adults for an overnight stay on 28/12/17/ On arrival we found a very pleasant young lady on reception who as well as being very smart she was very friendly and effiicient. The room was very clean with one of the biggest shower cubicles I have ever seen. Tea/Coffee available in room . We enjoyed a very comfortable night and 2 pillows for each person one soft and a firmer one were provided. The buffet style breakfast was served in the lounge/dining room and served both continental style and cooked bacon, sausage, scrambled egg was readily available all in all a very good start to the day. A good point to bear in mind is that you are allowed to take food and tea/coffees out in the suitable receptacles provided, I paid £52 for the room and £40 for the third adult with another £20 added for any incidental expenses ie bar bills, this was returned on checkout.
Lovely hotel, seems quite a way from Rotherham, nearer to Barnsley. Room was lovely, staff polite and helpful. Breakfast was really good. Rooms really clean and warm. Only problem we had was there was a Christmas party downstairs and our rooms were 2 floors above. The music was so loud until 12.30am!! Hardly what you want when you have been travelling all day.
This hotel has everything you would want, it is spotlessly clean, free wifi, TV, the bathroom is immaculate, breakfast - lots of choice. Stayed here overnight in September, would definitely come again.
Was staying here for business and for an area which boasts very little of anything, it was a surprise to see such a large hotel in the middle of nearly nowhere. The stay was comfortable but the rooms were decoratively pretty tired - especially the bathroom which was in need of modernisation. Bed was ok though, with a comfortable mattress. Watch out if you don't like noise because the walls are thin and there seemed to be an awful lot of running around in the corridors late at night - but this was the other guests fault, not the management. There's nowhere else to stay nearby, so this is about as good as it gets unfortunately.
