Good location, nice breakfast lots of choice. Booked Hilton as a treat but tatty room, in need of refurbishment and bringing up to date. Lights in room either all on or all off! Room was opposite lifts and motor noisy in mornings and evenings.
Me & my partner stayed here for the weekend & you will not get better service! The staff are so lovely from the front desk team to the lovely waitresses & waiters! I got cute birthday cards in my room from them & a peice of cake :) the room was gorgeous with a lovely view & the bar has a great atmosphere. Love this place we will be returning in a few months!
I stayed here recently and found the hotel on the whole to be very good. Pillows and bed were very comfortable. Breakfast and evening meals were very good. The only thing that let it down for me was the evening service. I waited 50 minutes for my evening meal and had to ask twice if it was coming. We also waited 20 minutes for our drinks order and it wasn't what is class as busy. Also the bar staff need more training as we had to show a female bar worker how to take a cork out of a bottle of wine!! Minor bits I suppose but overall good and I would recommend.
I was in Sheffield for beer business and this hotel was in the middle of the "Ale route". Maybe not the top Hilton hotel, but with the basics you need for a nice stay. Great bed, nice room and toilet; and good business area. Breakfast not my favorite style.
Recently spent the weekend at this Hilton hotel, The staff were friendly, room was quiet and we were upgraded to a quayside view with balcony, for an extra Spent the weekend recently in the Hilton at Sheffield. The staff were friendly, the room was quiet, and we were upgraded to a quayside view with balcony. The extra cost for this was ten pounds only, which is good value. At breakfast there is the option of cooked food and cerials, cold meats and cheese, yoghurt, fruit and eggs cooked to order. We would stay again as the hotel is central for all the local attractions, but has the advantage of not being at the mercy of late night revellers who tend to congregate in the city centre, and consequently make a lot of noise. We feel it is worth spending the extra money for a quieter location.
Perfect location for City Centre and Ponds Forge International pool. No roads to cross as there are bridges from the hotel across the roads leading to the trams, swimming pool and city centre. Staff at the hotel are very pleasant and helpful
Like I say its a hilton. You know what your getting. Your perception of it probably depends on the price you pay, which will vary depending on demand. I've marked this as 3 out of 5 as we paid 126 quid for the night and at that price I think that value rating is fair. Rooms are hilton standard, perhaps coming to the point where they need a refurb. Breakfast is okay, standard stuff with chef to cook omlettes, pancakes etc to order. Bit annoying that you have to pay parking as well - given that its the hotel's own car park - at 6 quid per day. Location is good, close to the city centre but far enough away to not get the noise and hassle of the city centre. I've stayed before, and will probably stay again but would prefer to pay less next time
Stayed for two nights midweek. The hotel is a little dated , it's not got much more life before it will need a refurb. The rooms are clean , large and although starting to date , they are ok. Location is perfect, car park is large. There is a cost but it's not a lot. Breakfast is excellent with lots of choice There is a pool, gym and sauna etc. Some of it is dated ( not gym) but it's clean large and a great place to chill. The biggest plus for me is the staff. They are all very friendly , warm, professional and accommodating. From the reception staff to the breakfast staff and the gym staff. For me they far outweighed the dating decor. It's the reason I overlooked Much of the little niggles and the reason I wouldn't hesitate to stay again or recommend it. As always I believe if you are nice to staff in hotels , they are mostly more than nice back. Well done staff, keep up the good work.
Used Hilton for a day service on my wedding day I had informed the hotel about the importance of this room and what we needed it for when we got there we was left waiting outside for half an hour with all our wedding clothing plus the make up artist and was not offered a table or anything to sit down was not offered any apologies I'm absolutely disgusted As it put my wedding off by a good half an to 45 minutes which ruined the rest of the day As a Hilton honours member I expected much better
I must praise the experience I have had tonight at the Hilton Sheffield. The check in was smooth, the receptionist was extremely helpful and efficient welcoming my first visit to this Hilton and recognising my Diamond Membership which recently my experience is unusual. The room was immaculate with an animal made from towels welcoming on the bed. The best for me was still to come after being checked in for 30 minutes I received a text asking if everything was to my satisfaction this ensured I got the message rather than the call you sometimes get in your room. I have never experienced this anywhere in the world. It is my first visit but certainly will not be my last. Well done Hilton Sheffield my personal experience is the best ever at a Hilton.
