We spent a great New Year's Eve at the Marriott with their bugsy malone party. The food was good and we had a great sleep followed by a large breakfast the next morning. The singer was good and the quiz and casino added to the entertainment.
As we have family in the area, we've used the Marriott several times as we know the brand and the quality. The location is great for us and we enjoy having the beach just a few steps away to walk off that full Welsh breakfast in the morning! Reception staff were smart, friendly and efficient both on arrival and departure, the room was clean and comfortable (if perhaps a little tired) and yay! there was a magnified mirror in the bathroom so I could see to put my make-up on! Breakfast was well cooked and plenty of choice - no complaints and we'll definitely stay again.
Once you've navigated the horror of the Severn Bridge toll gates, you eventually arrive in Swansea. The hotel is in a great location, steps away from a lovely empty beach and Swansea Bay. Our room was very comfortable as was our bed. Good breakfast choices. Just a few minutes walk away from loads of eateries and the marina. Take some time to visit one of the bars near the marina. When we were there, there was live music which was a great backdrop to a relaxing afternoon. Also 15-20 min drive away from Mumbles beach, which is also nice for meal or a drink in the sun.
American standards in a British setting. That is what we feel after a stay in this hotel. The complete staff we have met, was friendly and willing to serve. The room was 100% okay with two very comfortable beds. Everything was clean. The breakfast offers a wide choice. We did not have dinner in the hotel because the skyscraper behind the hotel has a pleasant Italian restaurant on the 28th floor with stunning views. Go to Swansea for a good Marriott hotel.
The room was in need of refurbishment. The standard of the housekeeping was poor. There was a large quantity of mould like growth on the window. I have stayed in Marriott hotels before and this one fell well below the usual standards. However, the breakfasts were excellent. The restaurant was expensive, possibly due to it being slightly out of the town. It only took about 10 minutes to walk into the centre of Swansea so we ate there. The marina is only 5 minutes walk away. The hotel is right on the promenade, so handy for a stroll. All the staff we met were the most pleasant, friendly and helpful we have ever encountered. Shame the rooms and housekeeping let them down.
Room ok, food ok, pool ok. Building work with loud drilling from early morning was not ok. Real shame as the staff seemed nice. We won't be staying here again. I hope they do building work in the afternoon from now on.
We stayed here for two nights and found this hotel to be an ideal as it's in a great location. The room was nice and clean although the view of the marina was a little disappointing. It's handy for the beach which is only a stones throw away and it's only a short walk to the main shops. There is a co-op shop just around the corner which was handy. The hotel also provides free parking. All in all I would be happy to return here.
This hotel represent good value for money - friendly service and is clean Could do we an update in the rooms and the gym pool area was average - change area definitely needs an upgrade Breakfast was great
Great location and great bar staff, lovely personalised cooked breakfast, will be back as short stroll to Wind street and La Brasia. Although also discovered Best Western in Llanelli which has great outdoor bar and 1st restaurant as Marriott was looking £354 for Wednesday night, simply as take that we're playing Swansea football club.
We had our Evening meal there after watching The Swansea Trilathlon.. First time every in Swansea and was very impressed i think the Resturtant was called The Iron Skillet. Even though we didn't have a reservation they found us a place to sit. Service was very prompt and the food was excellent and very well presented Will definetly go back there to eat next time i am in Swansea
