Swansea Marriott Hotel4.0 out of 5.0

Took a short post-Christmas break from London and decided on Swansea. The best located hotel in the city, on the waterfront with cafes and restaurants nearby. The front desk staff were wonderful and extremely helpful with all our requests. The swimming pool and Spa facility are perfect for the size and rating of the hotel. One plus was the availability of rooms with two double beds comfortably accommodating a family of two adults and two children and even interconnecting rooms for larger families. Most Marriotts in the U.K, including this one in Swansea are 4 star rated , marketed as such and priced accordingly whereas majority outside the UK are 5 star, something that should be borne in mind when making comparisons. Will definitely go back, but in the Summer, was too cold for us in December! My only gripe was being charges for wifi, something I have not paid for in recent years.
Stayed for 1 night Friday 04/01/2018. Easy parking ( free ) Very helpful polite desk staff Large superior room ( 402 ) Comfortable bed large room clean with marina view. Excellent location we will use again
Be careful of the low kerb in the car park . It tends to scrape the spoiler. Warm friendly welcome by Gemma on reception. Processed booking quickly and efficiently. Room well apppinted and clean. As one expects from this chain. Evening meal deal good value. Only kerb issue prevented full marks.
Family stayed here 2 nights-joined them for 1st night to have a meal-6 of us. Small restaurant -fine for our visit-but family had to wait to be seated for breakfast on the 2 mornings. Food+ service was much better than expected for a hotel. The vegetable Wellington was excellent.
We stayed here for the Christmas Eve, Christmas Day and Boxing Day period.. It was lovely (although the building does seem to suffer very bad condensation and we had to move rooms due to the hot water in the bathroom being scalding and not being able to be turned down) Nevertheless the staff reacted quickly and we Were moved by a porter! The hotel in close to the city and the beach .. So some diverse walks to be had! Food was good.. And didn't taste mass produced, room service was quick and accurate every time and housekeeping were kind and happy to help. Overall a very good stay although we will unlikely have call to return Thanks to all the staff for a lovely break!
Nice large room overlooking the marina. Be aware of 12.5 service charge. The only complaint would be not enough lounge seating - Only in bar area. However we enjoyed our staff and all staff very pleasant.
The hotel was lovely.rooms very large, swimming pool and very friendly staff. We booked this for a treat for the children.Nearby was an amazing christmas funfair and we also enjoyed the museum.Going again next year....but for longer .....thank you Marriott for a lovely clean and friendly hotel. We will be back!!
Excellent evening at the Marriott in Swansea. Good location, close to shops and restaurants in the city. Good room, good service & all requests upheld. Used as a venue for a meeting with clients before dinner, all worked well.
Spent the run up to Christmas and Christmas Day/Boxing Day and it was good value for money. The staff are polite, service efficient and overall are friendly enough. There were a few issues with our room on arrival - the window condensation was heavy and the shower only did scalding or severe burning... but without hesitation, once raised we were simply accommodated and moved rooms ... issues arise and it’s how a hotel responds that matters and staff het were spot on - even looking after all be re-packing and moving. Room service is good - and Christmas dinner was nice. Access and parking was great and the location was excellent for the beach, the marina, the city centre (all walkable) and driving to various locations on the Gower. A good solid 4.
The staff were very good throughout however the facilities were far below what I was expecting. The bath in my original room was chipped and rusty when i got moved the bath plug didn't fit and I had to wait for it to be changed although this was done quickly and the staff were very efficient. the heater made a noise and was slightly annoying. The main point that really made my stay terrible was that the dinning facilities in the evening were unavailable this was emailed to me 2 days prior to my stay however they forgot to mention that there were parties booked in the facilities for the two nights I would be staying, that would be playing music until the early hours. I was on the 4th floor so god knows what it was like below me. I must however say that the staff were very good and helpful at all times.
