I slept here just once and I will never come again, they gave me the most noisy room without any reason, as its a low season now and they could offer me any room except this one. They move the laundry in the morning 6am . Stupid behaviour from them.
The staff has been very helpful, probably the best part of the hotel. The room was old and the services are not at the level for a 4 stars hotel in the EU. They should give you some complementary water and put individual shampoo and body wash as everybody does from a 3 stars up, the one that you find in the bathroom is not the one that I expect in a 4 stars (it is just a suggestion). The hotel is just in front of the bus station, so very good if you travel by bus.
Our room and bathroom were big and very comfortable. We haven't ordered breakfast, so can't say anything regarding the food. But the hotel is in very good spot, the service is great, the heating batteries in the room and the bathroom worked very well and although it was cold outside, it was very cozy inside :)
It was the 3rd time that i booked this hotel, we got room 326, very big room, nice bed with nice view. The breakfast was great, lot of goods, the staff very helpful, apart of the barmam! He was a bit rude and he seemed that he was bored by serving people. i notice the 3rd day during the breakfast a young lady that she was very careful with the cleaning of the tables, the jars etc,she was very responsible with her job,her colligues in the same possition the first 2 days they didnt do the same.i think people like her are for jobs like this, and i also want to thank the woman at the frond desk as she was very nice and hrlpful, and the manager as she gave us a very good price for our stay!! I totaly recomend this hotel.
A lovely hotel situated in the town centre close to the main Train station and within a walking distance to the old town/Christmas market. Very friendly staff who were always happy to help. The Gym and sauna facilities came in handy. Breakfast was great with a variety of cooked and continental available. Great value for money
I stay in this hotel regularly due to business trips, and satisfaction mostly depends on the type of room you stay in. Rooms with bed for 1 are really small and tedious, but bigger rooms are much more pleasant. All rooms appear cozy, but little old in furnishing. Unfortunately, nights are often noisy - when you get room directed to bus station, sometimes there is a lot of noise from drunk or homeless people. In case of opposite direction, early in the morning (between 4 - 5 AM) there used to be really annoying noise from rolling of big metal barrels on the street. Breakfasts down in the restaurant are very good, large choice of food, lots of fruit, vegetables, drinks etc., and also good waiters. However, I do not recommend to order dinner in the hotel - it's served next to the bar, usually very slowly and not in the best quality. Bar is very good though, and amazing pianist plays to guests every night.
Access is easy from the railway station by taking the underground passage: follow signs to CENTRUM and then when you come back on to the street turn left to the hotel in 50 yards. It was the most expensive hotel on my trip for a week in eastern Europe but it was very good although I just stayed one night. My double room was huge though with windows only in the roof but you had a remote to open them and close the blinds - how naff! The bathroom was good too with a great bath for a soak. The was a minibar with beer, wine, water and soft drinks, crisps too. Wifi was good and the breakfast pretty good in a large conservatory style room. My evening meal in the bar was excellent, my waiter was just great and I am sure he knows he is a Putin lookalike but the food was super and his service faultless!
With its grand entrance opposite the station, and massive dining hall this place feels more expensive than it is. Staff were helpful and multi-lingual. Breakfast is very good and was included in my room rate. Anything you might want to see in Brno seems to be in walking distance. And even on the "railway" side of the building the room was quiet and comfortable.
A large hotel directly opposite the main station and airport bus stop. My room was on the 3rd floor and very quiet, no noise from outside and there didn't seem to be many other guests! I had booked a double but received a twin, which I wasn't too impressed with. The room was large, the beds were quite firm but acceptable. The room got very warm during the night and the air conditioning did very little. The bathroom was likewise large with a bath, but the shower wasn't very good. Like many big old hotels this one retains it's "grand" features but otherwise offers a budget experience - basic towels, cheap toilet paper, cheap and nasty toiletries... a shame. The breakfast was good, with a coffee machine for coffee and a range of quality hot and cold food options. There was also a sweet table filled with cake and pastries. Overall I was satisfied with my stay but the value for money wasn't great.
The Grandhotel Brno is ideal for the first time visitor as it is close to the central railway station and a few steps away from the old town which includes attractions such as the Cabbage Market (open air food and vegetable market), the Cathedral and the old town hall. We booked an Executive Double and were delighted by its huge size (corner room), view over the street and practical appointments - easily the largest hotel room we have experienced in a few years of travel in Europe. The hotel exudes an old world ambience but with modern furniture and fittings. The staff were helpful and efficient and the room was very clean. Breakfast was included in the room rate and was taken in a very nice dining room. The breakfast food was good and plentiful with the usual items such as eggs, bacon, cereal, etc on offer.
