WE STAYED IN THIS HOTEL FIRST AND LAST TIME!!! Two nights: 4 and 5 September 2017 It is time the hotel industry wakes up to this disgusting appalling practice!!! Hotel owners should be heavily fined or even imprisoned when hotels in order to save energy switch off the air extraction in the bathroom without windows for any time when customers are in rooms. Apart the disgusting point of hygiene, waking up with headaches and stuffy is not a way to enjoy to stay and pay for this. Depriving people from fresh air if it is not criminal offence should be! Most people are not aware that when you hear the air conditioning blowing, it is the same air going around. The extraction in the bathroom is the only way the air gets replaced with fresh air. This is one of the few hotels where beyond any doubt they have times to switch off the air extraction in the bathroom for most of the time of the day. I have video evidence where it was only switched on morning and evening. When I complained, the hotel manager Mr. Martin Ptolka pretended this was not possible. First he was saying the extraction was normal but after I persisted with evidence he was saying it should be one hour on one hour off!!! This is totally unacceptable!!!! When I said I don't pay for this appalling disgusting condition., the following night the air extraction stayed on. Hotels that have these disgusting appalling standards, they loose respect from me and I regard them the lowest of the low and never give them repeat business. Antonio D'Ettorre
Quite a nice hotel but not suitable for anyone who could not manage the stairs as the lifts are totally inadequate for the number of guests. A couple in our party waited over 20 mins for a lift while the rest of us resorted to carrying our bags down the stairs, not an option for those on the top floors.
Spent 2 nights in this hotel in room 1007, nice room with a good view, roomy with comfortable beds,no bath only a shower, but hot with good pressure, main problem was the lifts, 2 out of 3 working, and one night with 11 coach tours in the lifts were going from floor 0 to floor 16, and not stopping in between, when the did stop they were overloaded and after 10 minutes frustration finished up walking down 10 floors for breakfast on the 1st floor, and after breakfast down to the 1st floor to get a lift back up. With the Hotel being so full, breakfast was an experience, with the staff trying to clear tables, often before you'd finished, turn your back and your tea or half eaten toast disappeared, having said that there was a good selection for breakfast, once you'd worked out where everything was.
Enjoyed an overnighter during a customer trip at this hotel during my last customer trip. Was surprised over the room rates considering this is a really nice hotel. Theres also a good bar and restaurant but we only tried out the bar. Really good prives there as well. Will definetly go back here for our next trip.
I booked a package which included a complimentary drink upon arrival, buffet breakfast, small dinner for 2 with 2 beers each. A 2 course dinner for 2 with a beer each, a tour of the Budvar Brewery with a tasting and a gift when we check out of the hotel! Unfortunately we didn't receive the gift on departure and I would love to know what it was!! Free parking was also included in the package. Our room was on the 15th floor and the bed was comfortable, although I do not like the soft large pillows that are common in European hotels. We have encountered these on our trip to Germany and Czech Republic. No doubt if I asked for a different pillow the staff would oblige. The bathroom, bedroom and linen were spotlessly clean. We did not encounter any lift problems which have commonly been reported but the hotel had many Asian tourists (3) bus loads, so breakfast was extremely busy. The staff coped very well. The check-in staff were most helpful with advice and even rang several bike hire places for us as we wanted to rent one for the day. It is a perfect city to do this from. Very bike friendly. One incident occurred, which we now laugh about. When travelling we have a laundry bag which we use to put our soiled clothes in, ready for the laundrette (we wash them ourselves). We placed it on the floor next to the bed side table. It went unnoticed that it was missing until it was returned that evening with the clothes already laundered by the hotel for €9. (Socks, underpants and a t/shirt). Thankyou Hotel Clarion for being so vigilant, but we will have to be more vigilant in future and hide our dirty laundry!! 😏😏😏
We spent two nights at Clarion Congress Hotel as part of a Riviera Travel package. We found the staff to be very friendly and helpful. The room was warm, comfortable but very compact, as we struggled to find somewhere for our second suitcase. The room was more suited for a businessman than a holiday maker. In our room the air-con did not work and the hot water was only a dribble out of the shower. There was a reasonable choice of breakfast menu offering both cooked and continental style buffet. On the first evening we had a meal in the hotel which was satisfactory and on the second evening we went out to a local restaurant. The main problem with this hotel was the lifts. This was a 16-storey hotel with three small lifts with one out of order. While we were there a large party of Japanese tourists arrived and the whole lobby was full of people queuing for the lifts. People resorted to carrying their luggage up the fire escape stairs. It was so bad our rep recommended that we take our suitcases down to reception for storage the night before check-out to avoid the problems in the morning.
The Clarion Congress enables easy access to the main square (15-20 min walk). The building itself is pretty non descript, quite soulless amongst other beautiful buildings that surround it, one feature is its height so it is easy to spot as a landmark. Reception and check-in was pretty quick and the room itself was fine, as mentioned on numerous reviews the lifts are in demand so when one of three is not working it can be a tiresome waiting game. The hotel was fully booked during our stay so the lift situation certainly reared its ugly head, luckily we had arrived before the stampede on check-in, however when we used the lift to take us to the lobby / reception area to leave the hotel we had to practically fight our way out as the amount of new guests trying to access the lifts completely flooded the reception / lobby area, it was quite an experience. The room we had was smart, clean and tidy, although the bathroom shower head 'fitment' was loose so this became tricky to use and the bath hand rail situated inside the bath was hanging off? Breakfast was fine with a variety of choices on offer, although the temperature of the evening meals were not particularly hot. The hotel does not pretend to be anything that it isn't, so really its just an easy clean environment to rest. Staff were all pleasant and efficient which is more than can be said about the lifts.
We stayed at this hotel for one night the staff were very friendly and attentive. Our room was on the 16th floor large clean and the beds were very comfortable.Free wifi and parking breakfast was very good and varied. The hotel was about half a mile from town centre I would certainly recommend the Clarion Hotel.
The hotel is centrally located and the area was quiet. Our room on floor 11 had a beautiful view of the distant hills. It was small but clean and very quiet with comfortable beds and pillows. When we were staying there, there were lots of international athletes (Japan, Egypt, Brazil, Italy, Ukraine, China, Argentina, Iran) staying at the same hotel for a volleyball championship so the hotel was quite full however there was no noise issue. The buffet breakfast had a lot to choose from, hot and cold. The athletes had a special area for their breakfast, ie. not mingled with other guests. I would certainly stay at the hotel again.
We stayed just a couple of nights at this hotel but it was really pleasure. Big thanks to all the service, specially the receptionists:-). The hotel is just 5 minutes from the city centre and is easy to find it. We recommend this hotel :)
