An incredible location; sufficiently rural with local amenities within a five minute walk. 25 mins drive from Sorrento or the Almalfi Coast drive. The hotel and residence had everything we needed - excellent customer service - friendly, helpful staff able to advise us from their personal experience for us to discover the hidden gems of the local area, and further afield. Delicious breakfast and the restaurant we visited three times - fantastic! Incredible views from our well equipped studio apartment, and from the bar and pool area too, with gorgeous sunsets #nofilter. The standard of cleanliness was superb, and accessibility across the premises great. A wonderful holiday location - so much so we have just booked to return in 2018 👍
Not the easiest place to find as it's quite a way out of Sorrento, but it's in a good location to explore the beautiful area. We were upgraded to a 'villa', it was a nice size and very clean. The only down side was the shower, which was awful, it was a multi-head shower system but only one part actually worked, and that part couldn't be moved. There is an on site restaurant which is nice and the bar is very pleasant. Staff were excellent and very friendly. Pool is a nice size and very clean. Overall a great place to stay.
My son and I always stop somewhere near Massa Lubrense or Sorrento on route to see our family in Campania.. We chose Gocci di Capri because it had everything we look for. Balcony's, views, pool, kitchenette and places to lounge and enjoy the ambiance of the region. The room we ended up with was small (one bedroom and a pullout) but I forgot to ask to see the bigger rooms that were advertised. This is a quaint hotel but so are the prices..very affordable for the amount of absolute beauty everyday and every night with the amazing sunsets. The restaurant was great and handy to be on premises. Termini has a small grocery store that has the most tasty salami and cheese and things to stock for the kitchenette. A car is necessary but we always have a car to explore the nearby Amalfi Coast and short drive to Positano. The ferry in Sorrento is a few miles away and takes you to Capri and other seaside destinations easily. Let Luigi make you a cocktail or serve up wine and small bites then enjoy as he spins music by the pool! Molto Bene!
The view from the hotel is amazing. The staff were really friendly & helpful. The luxury appartement we had booked was not luxurious! The photos and the reality don't match. We had major issues with the cleanliness & hygiene....We were in such a rush to leave we didn't take photos. The staff understood our problems and we were offered a refund for our first night. We then changed hotels. However we were shown another appartement which was much better & less tired looking than ours. We were offered this one but felt we had to move elsewhere as didn't want to risk taking it. We also felt no longer able to relax there. I personally could not recommend this place & certainly don't take 110. I did wonder if I should write this condemning review. I know it contrasts with the glowing reviews. That's why we were unpleasantly surprised. The booking site I went through only had excellent reviews BUT people who went through the same experience as us beforehand would have been unable to write a review. We couldn't on the booking site because our money was refunded and our booking cancelled it was as if we'd never stayed there... so couldn't write a review. Although we did stay one night.
Gocce di Capri is situated in Termini. As the name says: this is the end of the peninsula of sorrent. Though Termini is a little bit in the middle of nowhere you'll find everything you need. Tabacchi, Bar, small supermarket, Farmacia and Trattoria. It is a very laid back litlle town. It is just a 5 minute walk from the centre of Termini to Gocce di Capri where we stayed for a week in September. We had a warm welcome. All personal was very kind. But, frankly speaking, that is what I expect in every hotel and mostely I did not get dissappointed. The appartment we were booked in was very well appointed. Particular the kitchen. You will find everything you need for self catering. The highlight of course: the view. Including the most stunning sunsets I have ever seen! On the patio: two chairs, a table and two sun beds. Well done! The furniture in the apartment is not at the high end side. Let's say functional. Which is fine with me. The only issue I had was the bed. Regretably this was a serious problem for me as a person with back problems. The mattrass is not put on a slattet frame but on a kind of non flexible wooden board. That really gave me a hard time! Gocce di Capri offers breakfast which you can book the day befor for € 7,- p.p. This Breakfast is very basic. No eggs no bacon. So we made our brekki by ourselves. Fine with me. The residence offers a pool of decent size with lots of sunbeds. You will find a restaurant on the hotel ground. The restaurant is managed independently from the hotel. They offer acceptable quality. However would certainly recommand to try the Trattoria in Termini. Great food at very decent price! Hoping that other apartments have better beds than apartment 102a I can recommand this residence.
Well indeed the view is 5 stars. Yes, the lovely ladies at reception are 5 star too. The apartment, we had a 1 bedroom apartment is not worth the money. A very, very, very small and old fashioned shower cabin. A little space for toilet supplies and yes with 3 people it's nothing. Yes, the apartment was clean. Towels are provided but only one change a week. That's not much when it's so hot that 2 showers a day is not enough. On the balcony there is little privacy. But worst of all are the garbage bins outside. You share the bins with your neighbour. 1 bin for veggies/fruit,, 1 bin for plastic and 1 bin for everything else, but no glass. Small ordinary, badly lockable plastic bins, with a plastic bag inside. And lot of cats around the apartments. Guess what happend! Every morning the veggies/meat/fish leftovers are on the floor and the cats had a great night :-)) The bins where only emptied twice a week. Yuk. And than the pool. I hate it when people reserve chairs around the pool. I saw people reserve the chairs at 7 in the morning. And when they go for lunch (more than 2 hours) the towel stayed on the chairs. As there are to little chairs in the high season you have to sit on a stone wall or go home. The parking is also to little for the many cars in high season, but the worst thing is the steep hill when you go out with your car, the smell of burnt rubber!!! In the small village of Termini you will find a small supermarket and a butcher. And you have to make a reservation of one of the best restaurants we've been 'Eughenes'.Great food!
A very nice family place with a beautiful view over Capri. Nice pool and a nice restaurant. Yoo also have your own kitchen and 10 minutes walk away in Termini you will find a nice small supermarket. Couls have been a bit more thorougly cleaned.
The hotel / residence / apartments, are a little tired, and the food in the restaurant is average. The staff are really really helpful and the pool area is clean and tidy. However the main reason to go here are the amazing views overlooking Capri.
My Wife and I had been invited to attend a three day, family friends wedding at the Re Blue near by. We chose to stay the week staying at Gocce di Capri. What a delightful place. The apartments are clean and very adequate. Pool great, and also the restaurant, who also do take away. What really made our stay all the more enjoyable were the amazing staff, who all went out of their way for us from initial check in, arranging transfers to and from the two hotel, to check out, and also their friendliness. Thank to Marriana, Christina, Gussipi, and Adriana (apologies for my spelling of names) Keep up the great work. Hope to may be catch Gussipi in UK November time.
The staff was super friendly and accommodating. We asked and we received...answers to questions, a grill to use, etc. They did all they could to get us anything we needed. The view was great and you really can't get view like that for this price anywhere else on the Amalfi coast. The hotel itself is not easy to get to, but with the excursions we booked, transportation to and from the hotel was always included which meant we wouldn't have been limited even if we didn't have our car. The pool was clean and never really super crowded. The restaurant was good and not terribly overpriced. Our family had a great time there. We took advantage of the Fishing Tour, my husband had a great time, not for serious fishermen, but a great look at how things are done in the area. It was a really laid back insider view of fishing Italian style, he really had a blast. We went on the tour of Capri as well, we enjoyed the boat tour around the Island, but the Island itself was a bit too crowded for our taste, nothing to do with the hotel of course, just something we wouldn't do again. The little beach down the road, Marina Del Cantone, (ten minutes by car) was great, not as crowded or as expensive as Positano or Amalfi but just as beautiful. We enjoyed 2 half days there. Chairs on the beach were 20 euro for 2 chairs and umbrella (with the hotel discount). We ordered fresh fruit and Prosecco from Mary's Beach restaurant and sat on our loungers enjoying the sun. We snorkeled a little in the very clear water. We also went to Pompei and Herculeneum on two separate days, the traffic was crazy getting there and back, but also part of the experience for us so we didn't mind too much. If you want to really experience Italy, you have to leave your hotel and go out and do it. If you just want a beach vacation, you can do that anywhere there is coastline. This hotel is definitely off the beaten path, this didn't bother us because we had a car to get around, but it may be a turn off to those without personal transportation. The things I can think of that might need improvement are that it would have been convenient to have things like salt, pepper, sugar, oil and vinegar in the apartment. We asked for salt and sugar and they provided to us, but it would have just made cooking in the room easier as you typically don't want to buy things like that for just a one week. Also there were ants in the room as mentioned by other reviewers, but my husband and I are used to this in Florida, most hotels by the ocean have their fair share of pests. There was also some spots with mildew on the walls near the bathroom, but we live in Italy and understand this is pretty common, but it's also maintained and it was obvious it had been scrubbed before. My biggest complaint is one that is not likely to get fixed, in our apartment, it was the 1 bedroom with pull out couch set up, there was the tiniest shower I have ever seen. We laughed about it all week because the only one in our family who could comfortably shower in there was my tiny 13 yo daughter. The rest of us showered with the doors open so we didn't constantly bang our elbows. I can only speak for our apartment though, I don't know what the showers were like in the other rooms.
