You can't get a better location! The staff is very friendly and gave us super restaurant recommendations. We stayed in the orange room for 3 nights. The room was very clean. There are only about 12 rooms in this hotel. Our room was very large for the 3 of us and the bathroom was huge. The shower is typical European water all over the place set up. We had a balcony that faced the main street. The third bed was the sofa that converts. The air conditioning works very well. The not so great...the beds are so hard. They are the worst beds I have slept on in a hotel. The breakfast is not very good except the lemon cake and it was delicious. For example, they had mini pizzas and one morning the pizza had french fries and corn kernels on it. The entire pizza was there again the next morning. The biggest problem is that we came back to our room one afternoon to find the door open. There was a problem with the lock. When we inquired at the desk they said they would have maintenance look at it, but not to worry because other guests wouldn't have a reason to enter our room. Sorry, not acceptable solution. The last issue is that the hotel is on the second floor so you must carry your luggage up a flight of stairs. The elevator is for the rest of the floors once you are at check in. We only used it once to carry our luggage because it is so slow. There is an outdoor staircase that you can use for daily use. Once the lock was fixed I could deal with everything else just fine, but I would not stay here again soley based on the beds because they were horrible.
Room was beautiful. Could not really fault much, if anything. What you read is what you get. Staff were great with English and truly helpful, the cleaners were excellent with the rooms. Breakfast was delicious and coffee is brought to you. Would gladly come back.
The location of the hotel is very good, near the centre. Shops and restaurants are in walking distance. The rooms are clean and well decorated. However the size of a double room is tiny making a long stay quite uncomfortable. The breakfast was poor and the viennoiseries were not fresh. In the meantime the parking area is located out of the town and we had to wait to long to get our car when needed. We had to delay our departure from Sorrento by 1 hour as we did wait almost 50minutes in the street to get our car. This was caused apparently by a misunderstanding between the hotel staff and the parking staff bringing the car in the hotel. The staff was relatively polite but had a difficulty with english language and as we do not speak italian we had a small issue in communication, not being that important though.
Very nice hotel in the perfect location for a short break in Sorrento. Everywhere was just a pleasant stroll from here. Also very close to the train station for a very easy trip to the spectacular Pompei. Definately recommend to anyone wanting a simple, comfortable, clean place to stay.
Stayed here for 2 days and it was great. Ladies at the front desk were very helpful and spoke decent English. Pros: great location, just a mere 3min walk from Sorrento metro station. Good wifi. Clean rooms. Bathroom was small but good enough. Shopping & restaurants just down the street. Supermarket right below. Cons: breakfast was nothing fancy. Just a kitchen and a small dining area, not really a big deal but it was fine with me. Elevator to the floors took forever lol. In conclusion, I would go back to this hotel if I find myself in Sorrento again. It's decent, a good area and it had everything I needed. Plus point were the ladies behind the desk as they were really helpful. Just one thing though, if they are reading this, please clean the fish bowl. That poor goldfish looked really sad in that murky water lol
Me and the wife stayed here last October and found it to be what we were expecting. Staff were very friendly and helpful although did struggle at times to understand my accent - not there fault at all! Rooms were quirky, clean and very enjoyable to stay in. There is a fridge in the room with a mini bar but as there was a supermarket across the road we didn't bother using it. (Not supposed to take drinks to the room so need to be cute about it although we were never stopped) It is based above the Armani store and is far enough out of the town to get a peaceful nights sleep but only 2 minutes to get where to were you want to be. Sorrento is an amazing place with gorgeous restaurants and amazing food but make sure you take plenty of money as it is not cheap. A meal out for 2 with a starter, garlic bread and 2 bottles of good wine did not give much change out of 100 euros. Close to the station and easy to get around if you want to go visiting other parts of Italy. Would we go again - yes but not till we are older and our money is our own and would we stay in the Abagnale again........definitely.
My friend and I stayed in this hotel for 3 nights while on a trip to Sorrento. We found that it was a good basic hotel, excellently located for the train/bus station and the town. The staff were helpful both before and during our trip. The room was clean and spacious, with the facilities we needed including access to water in the minibar, a safe, toiletries etc. Breakfast was fairly standard for a hotel of this type, with cereal, fruit, toast but enormous crossiants! A great hotel if youre on a budget, want to be in the heart of the city of Sorrento and to travel to other nearby wonders. Dont miss Pompeii, Vesuvius, Capril and Positano.
Great location in the heart of Sorrento. It is on the main street of Sorrento and just a block from the main plaza. Easy walking distance to restaurants, bars, shops, and tourist attractions. Rooms are fairly basic, but are of a good size have all of the necessities. There is some street noise if you have a room in the front of the hotel, but rooms in the back are tranquil. Staff is friendly and helpful. The hotel is also pet friendly and our dog has now enjoyed 2 stays here. We would recommend staying here and will likely do so again.
We stayed in this hotel for 2 days. Coming from Pompeii in Circumvesuviana train - less than 5 minutes take you to this hotel. Christmas tree lighted wonderfully is just 2 minutes walk away and we could see that from our hotel balcony as well. Villa Communale in a short walk is an excellent place to get amazing views of Mountain and town. Large super market is just opposite in a short walk. Location made it easy for us to take SITA bus - one day to Amalfi and Ravello then next day to Positano with a few minutes walk. Returning back to Naples airport through Curreri Viaggi bus was also easy without any need to take taxi. Inside the hotel, breakfast was decent. Each room is themed in particular color and our green room had everything green - we do liked it and not sure everyone will. TV did not work properly with not able to change channels. Shower stall is too small and also with a little gap between the shower doors water spills out and made the floor messy. With little children requiring bath support this will be a difficult part. I will recommend this hotel considering the positives.
When I first checked in to Palazzo Abagnale I felt a little underwhelmed. The coloured decor takes a bit of getting used to (our whole room was cast in a green light), and I immediately noticed the hard and slightly lumpy mattress. BUT.... as our four night stay progressed I found myself falling in love with this little hotel and its staff. The location couldn't be better: right in the heart of town, walking distance from everywhere. They have recently changed their breakfast system, and now have a proper breakfast room with two lovely ladies serving eggs (albeit cold ish- but you can ask them to make them fresh if you want), espresso coffee, croissants, brioche, cold cuts, cereal, fruit, cakes and toast. It was an unexpected bonus! I loved the little balcony with views out to the street and was was also surprised at how much these doors blocked the sound when closed. Our air con worked fine (unlike other reviews) but it wasn't very hot to start with. I had to ask for blankets as there were only sheets on the bed. I think they would really benefit from having proper quilts/ comforters on the beds. The real gem was the staff. They were so willing to help with everything, from figuring out the TV, to booking tours and generally answering all our questions. We were sorry to be leaving by the end, and hope to visit this wonderful town again one day. Unless I win the lottery in the meantime, Palazzo Abagnale will be my first choice!
