Palazzo Abagnale is honestly the best place to stay in Sorrento. You'll also get to be super close to all the main sites- and the markets, port, piazza and many restaurants are all within walking distance (I.e. From 5-10 min walk) the staff are very helpful- offering to help you get the most out of your holiday. Also the train station is about 4 min walk as well. Super convenient for a trip to Pompeii or Naples. We had the green room and it was spacious, very clean and had a great balcony. You won't regret booking here...
My wife and I stayed here in August 2017 and were nothing but pleased with our stay. The rooms are very clean and modern. Ice cold AC during an massive heat wave was super helpful. The location of Palazzo abagnale is great to walk around and enjoy the nightlife and a quick walk down the stairs to marina piccolo or grande. There is an elevator from the port that takes you up to the main square street level that is 1 Euro a person, well worth it when arriving and departing from Sorrento. We stayed here because of the prime location and the ease of going to Amalfi, Positano and Capri for day trips by boat and bus. Sorrento and Palazzo Abagnale is a great central location for your visit of the Amalfi coast. Each morning the staff prepares a lovely spread of food and make coffee to order, all included in the room rate. I will be coming back as I travel annually to Italy!
The service from hotel staff was excellent & the valet parking made it a lot easier for us .I would not recommend driving in Sorrento! The hotel is walking distance to the bus/train station & would recommend catching the bus to positano/Amalfi.We stayed in black room on 3rd floor. The room was large & as it was at the back of the hotel was very quiet with nice view over trees.I would recommend at least 3 days in Sorrento to see positano/isle capri or Pompeii.Wouls definatly stay again
We stayed at this hotel 2 days ago as part of a trip around amalfi coast and it was great. Perfect location as close to the main square, also had supermarket opposite. Unfortunately I had a fall when on holiday and ended up on crutches and the hotel were great, they upgraded our room to a larger room to make sure everything was as easy as possible for me. We also had an early flight home the next morning and they prepared breakfast for us the evening before and delivered it to our room. The rooms were very clean and the staff extremely helpful. Highly recommend this hotel if you are looking for a simple and clean hotel in the centre of Sorrento.
It's fun because all of the rooms are a different color. We had orange. Not easy to find because there is no large sign...it's a glass door in the middle of the block and leads up to the second floor where the reception area is. Rooms are bright, clean, and fresh linens daily. Breakfast is typical European fare. Great location with easy access to shopping, beach, restaurants, etc. Helpful staff. Most difficult part is getting up a long flight of stairs with heavy luggage and no bellhops. Elevator is used to reach the rooms on upper floors.
Very central location, handy for sightseeing, train station and restaurants and bars. Modern and spotlessly clean. Staff friendly and very helpful. Good value compared to other Sorrento hotels. Room spacious with added extra of a small balcony.
You can't get a better location! The staff is very friendly and gave us super restaurant recommendations. We stayed in the orange room for 3 nights. The room was very clean. There are only about 12 rooms in this hotel. Our room was very large for the 3 of us and the bathroom was huge. The shower is typical European water all over the place set up. We had a balcony that faced the main street. The third bed was the sofa that converts. The air conditioning works very well. The not so great...the beds are so hard. They are the worst beds I have slept on in a hotel. The breakfast is not very good except the lemon cake and it was delicious. For example, they had mini pizzas and one morning the pizza had french fries and corn kernels on it. The entire pizza was there again the next morning. The biggest problem is that we came back to our room one afternoon to find the door open. There was a problem with the lock. When we inquired at the desk they said they would have maintenance look at it, but not to worry because other guests wouldn't have a reason to enter our room. Sorry, not acceptable solution. The last issue is that the hotel is on the second floor so you must carry your luggage up a flight of stairs. The elevator is for the rest of the floors once you are at check in. We only used it once to carry our luggage because it is so slow. There is an outdoor staircase that you can use for daily use. Once the lock was fixed I could deal with everything else just fine, but I would not stay here again soley based on the beds because they were horrible.
Room was beautiful. Could not really fault much, if anything. What you read is what you get. Staff were great with English and truly helpful, the cleaners were excellent with the rooms. Breakfast was delicious and coffee is brought to you. Would gladly come back.
The location of the hotel is very good, near the centre. Shops and restaurants are in walking distance. The rooms are clean and well decorated. However the size of a double room is tiny making a long stay quite uncomfortable. The breakfast was poor and the viennoiseries were not fresh. In the meantime the parking area is located out of the town and we had to wait to long to get our car when needed. We had to delay our departure from Sorrento by 1 hour as we did wait almost 50minutes in the street to get our car. This was caused apparently by a misunderstanding between the hotel staff and the parking staff bringing the car in the hotel. The staff was relatively polite but had a difficulty with english language and as we do not speak italian we had a small issue in communication, not being that important though.
Very nice hotel in the perfect location for a short break in Sorrento. Everywhere was just a pleasant stroll from here. Also very close to the train station for a very easy trip to the spectacular Pompei. Definately recommend to anyone wanting a simple, comfortable, clean place to stay.
