The Hotel Mediterraneo was a highlight of our recent trip to Italy. It felt like a boutique hotel although it had everything we could want. The staff was warm, courteous, and helpful, and arranged 3 wonderful day trips for us. Returning to Sorrento and the Mediterraneo would be a pleasure I'd like to repeat.
A nice hotel in a quite suburb of Sorrento. Very friendly and courteous staff. We were on holiday with our baby and were made to feel very welcome. The hotel provides a shuttle bus into Sorrento at various times throughout the day (5 minute journey) which was extremely useful and saved us a lot of money on taxis which can be very expensive in this area. We stayed in a classic triple room which was clean and well presented. However we did find the room to be on the small side for a family (2 adults and a toddler). With a cot in the room there is very little space to move around. It would have been a great size for a just a couple. Families with one or more children should probably go for a larger sized room. Lovely pool area, and the poolside restaurant was excellent. Breakfast was on the 5th floor, with a great view out onto the bay of Naples and Mount Vesuvius. The food was ample with a good amount of variety and very tasty pastries! We did not try the main restaurant for dinner. The location is great for exploring both Sorrento and the rest of the Amalfi Coast. Overall a great hotel which we would highly recommend.
A perfectly acceptable place to while away an hour or two whilst watching other people, people watching (if that's your thing). Completely pretentious with a bar service to match. We essentially had to wave someone over to take our order, to place another order and then eventually pay the bill. You probably don't come here for the service. We retreated to our hotel at The Villa Garden afterwards and were glad to be back.
We stayed here in the first week in November. Everything was fantastic, staff friendly and accommodating. Breakfast was spectacular. Facilities fabulous. We stayed in a room overlooking the sea, my only regret is not getting a chance to eat in the restaurant.
We stayed here for 7 nights from the 27th October to the 3rd November. The hotel itself looks out onto the bay of Naples and runs a regular shuttle bus to Sorrento town center. The bus is new and in immaculate condition. The reception staff were very very good. Our travel agent had booked 2 separate rooms for some reason which would've left us paying twice for our first night. The reception staff contacted our agent and very quickly sorted the problem out. The hotel was perfect in every way. Our room was gutted every day by pleasant, helpful staff. The restaurant is on the 5th floor and looks out onto the bay through large floor to ceiling windows with doors out onto a terrace for those that want to eat outside. My wife celebrated a special birthday and the restaurant staff really pushed the boat out for her during our meal. Guys you have got it so right. Out in the grounds there is a large pool plus a jacuzzi type pool as well as plenty of sun loungers. There's a bar by the pool, another on the ground floor and a roof top bar as well. All immaculately kept. Bad points, our room was on the first floor and as the hotel sits on a 90 deg bend from around 6:30 am all we heard was scooters accelerating away from the bend like angry little wasps. So for a quieter stay a room away from the bend would be best.
Was part of a group of 16 ladies on a trip to the Amalfi and fortunate to stay the whole 9 nights at this hotel. Lovely boutique, modern and fresh decor and a lovely vibe from the whole place. Staff were always smiling and friendly and helpful, nothing was a bother for them. Welcomed with a happy buongiorno each day from the breakfast room staff. The breakfast choice was vast and delicious, even having soy milk for my cereal and tea. If you can get a table out on the veranda, you are rewarded with an amazing view over the ocean and that fantastic volcano. The sky bar has a great vibe to it also and is the perfect place to enjoy a sunset cocktail and listen to some live music. Guess there is a good reason why its only open 3 nights a week but more would be great, perhaps its seasonal and this was October. The room was very small but nicely decorated and the tiny balcony great to sit with a glass of bubbly. The one way street out front quite busy but once the doors shut it was quiet. Room had all the little extras like tissues and garbage bins, that are not always found, even in the best hotels. The pool area was awash with lush trees and bushes and was great to see the flowers out, when ours at home have long finished. The hot tub was amazing and very welcome, also the beach area, although small was great and the ocean, although cold, great too. A great stay all round, would definitely recommend and return.
Myself, Husband and two friends have just returned from this fantastic hotel. We stayed for four nights and from the moment we stepped into the hotel we felt totally relaxed and spoilt. We had a warm welcome at reception and our room overlooked the gardens/mountains and a side view of the sea. We had a balcony with amazing views, the room was quite small but spotlessly clean. Breakfast in the 4th floor restaurant with panoramic views was breathtaking! The food was plentiful and you could order what wasnt out. The waiters were very attentive. We had lunch in the pool side restaurant and it was very nice. The pool area was very relaxing a piece of paradise. We had drinks in the white bar which is very chic and relaxing, again the staff were very attentive. The hotel is very well located, with its wonderful seafront position and just a short walk to some very good local restaurants and bars. We walked into Sorrento a few times which takes about 20 minutes and is a lovely walk but we did take advantage of the free bus service from the hotel which runs every hour. The reception staff could not do enough for us and even provided a packed breakfast for us to take to the airport. I would highly recommend this hotel it is a piece of paradise in wonderful Italy.
One year ago today we booked our wedding for the 24th August 2017 after a trip to Hotel Mediterraneo. We met with Alessia and Francesco and instantly knew that we were in good hands. We didn’t go back to the hotel until a few days before the wedding but emailed Alessia regularly with updates and requests, nothing was ever a problem and everything was always handled with professionalism. The whole day surpassed even our highest expectations. We had 80 of our close friends and family with us and every one of them was overwhelmed by the day. So many people spoke so highly of the hotel and more importantly the staff. The canapés, wine and the food were incredible, along with the stunning views and Sorrento sun made for a truly unforgettable day. The band, which the hotel picked, couldn’t have been better followed by the DJ who played a perfect mix of songs to keep people dancing. Alessia and Francesco were with us the whole day (13+ hours) making sure that everything ran smoothly, needless to say that it did. They are both a true credit to the hotel, along with everyone else that works there. We had high expectations and Hotel Mediterraneo surpassed them on every level. We don’t have enough words to recommend the venue enough and would like to thank everyone, Alessia and Franceso in particular, for the best day of our lives. Cat & Jack Middleton
We were unable to book a reservation in this hotel as they were full at the time we decided to visit Sorrento. Instead we visited the hotels roof top Sky bar that is open to non residents. It is a must! Situated at the top of the hotel and accessed by the hotel lift and then a small flight of steps. The view is lovely but this can be enjoyed in many locations round about. What makes the Mediterranean Sky lounge different is the quality of service, relaxed atmosphere, and attention to detail. The staff were delightful. The drinks are reasonably priced and are accompanied by a range of mini appetisers that are superb. We sat and listened to live music while we enjoyed an embience of sophistication. Exactly what is required on holiday.
We recently had the pleasure of staying at this lovely hotel for the first three nights of our Italy honeymoon. Our room had a fantastic view of the water - just what we asked for! On our first night, we had dinner at the restaurant seated on the patio and it was quite memorable. The sommelier, Massimo, whom we befriended was gracious, attentive and a great conversationalist. In fact, all of the staff at the hotel were top notch. We enjoyed lying by the pool with libations as the relaxing grooves played lightly in the background. We appreciated the contemporary styling and no nonsense rooms. We plan to return for future anniversaries!
