Just returned from a weeks stay at the Hotel Londra in Sant'Agnello,an upmarket area of Sorrento. This hotel is good value for money and the staff are welcoming and friendly. The rooms are typical Italian ,spotlessly clean and we had fresh towels provided every day. Location is good just 20 minutes walk into the centre of Sorrento and you can avoid walking down the busy road by using the pathways behind the college at the side of the hotel. Breakfast was mainly continental, but who wants full English when in Italy? There was plenty of choice and the croissants were delicious. Evening meal was 3 courses, chosen from the menu at breakfast time. The food was good and typically Italian and the restaurant staff were so friendly and helpful. Don't miss going to the Vista Bar on the roof of the Mediterraneo Hotel for a drink and the most amazing views, just round the corner from Hotel Londra on the sea front. Tony's Bar in the centre of Sant 'Agnello is good for an evening drink. The Foreigners Bar in the centre of Sorrento has beautiful views of Capri and Vesuvius and the food was very good. If you want a front table on the terrace you may need reserve a table. We found the best place to have lunch in Sant'Agnello was Il Ruttino, the owners are a lovely young couple and don't be put off by the exterior. We had lunch in the garden at the rear and had the best pizzas in Sorrento. Will definitely be returning to this area.
If you do not know where to go next summer, I will tell you. Hotel Londra in Sorento Italy. The price is popular, great location, it is a little bit noise, but this is Italy Dolce vita. The food is good, specialty dinners very tasty Italian style.I always get very nice room,it is clean and neat, staff is very polite and kind. Mr. Daniele DiMaio even gave me a ride on his own motorcycle to see the doctor and pharmacy when i was ill last summer. I always feel safe, protected, and pleasant. I love you all. God Bless you. See you next summer! 5 STARS ***** Grazie tanto. With love, Miroslava Myra Bihac Speech Language Pathologist m.s.- Artist DELAWARE U.S.A.
This is a small hotel with some character. It is quite dated and definitely needs an upgrade to it. Our room was on first floor. Bathroom was quite big and nice. Can be noisy as near the street. We didn't have AC didn't ask for remote as did not need it that much but could have done with it a few nights. ONE MAIN thing that I absolutely hated was ants.... apparently there is a problem for a few months in the year. We were not told do not eat in the room. I had crisps and peanuts one night and a biscuit in my bag. OMG I woke up to an invasion of ants. it was horrible. You should be told no food under any circumstances in room. After that it was fine but not sure if this is normal. Pool was lovely and they had a nice bar and staff were lovely.
Arrived in Sorrento, it was raining with the promise of more rain, so I was hoping that our Hotel would lift our mood...to cut a long story short it did'nt. We both stood in our room after being dumped in there by the owner and I immediately wanted a strong drink. We looked for an upgrade but that story in itself is a saga and this is Hotel Review after all. The room is basic and I mean basic don't expect any mod cons, the television was something that you would find at the back of your garage during a clean-out. We were on the ground floor near the main road and the noise and fumes from the constant mop-peds, the locals like to use will always stick in my mind when I think of Sorrento. The room was clean I grant you that but then we didn't hang around much to generate any dirt. Breakfast was average, I only had bread-rolls and orange juice which came from a machine which I assume is to ensure that it is rationed. The décor overall in the hotel is dated, to be honest its not what I expected, I would recommend the owner take a few trips abroad so he can better understand what constitutes a Modern Tourist Hotel in the 21st Century, a waiter in a bow tie went out in the 70's. On the back of my break in Sorrento I wont be back, way too expensive for what its offer's, it still thinks that it is someway exclusive some breaking news you aint!!!
Myself and my husband are just back from a 10night stay in hotel londra. Although it's a little dated decor wise it was very clean, our room was ground floor and a descent size and the bathroom was also a good size,we found it to be clean and comfortable and housekeeping was done every day with fresh towels and soaps, toilet roll etc provided. There was also air con provided with the room at no extra cost. The pool area was also very clean with lovely loungers that had a very handy canopy overhead which was great for reading. Breakfast was a standard Continental which is the same as most other hotels ,not a massive selection of food however the croissants and coffee were lovely! Location of this hotel is very good ,there was a few restaurants close by if you didn't fancy going into Sorrento town every night but the main town is only a twenty minute walk and it's very pleasant, there are taxi cabs outside the hotel but it costs approx 16-20 euro into the town centre so your better off taking a stroll! Overall we found this hotel to be very good value , clean and tidy and the staff are happy to help ,we were a bit apprehensive about booking it after reading the bad reviews but if your looking for a good base to have a shower in the morning and be out sight seeing and exploring for the day and just need a comfy bed to end your day then this place is perfect!
After reading the hotel review it sounded as though the hotel londra was perfect for what we wanted. How wrong I was.... The rooms are ok but very dated. The maid does not come round to tidy the rooms until 2.30 pm She throws the bed together which looked better before she started. The air conditioning which was promised in the hotel brochure does not exist until about 2am when it kicks in making a hideous droning noise but producing no cool air ?? Breakfast .... The breakfast is rubbish to say the least, with cheap yoghurt and even cheaper coffee. The bacon looks boiled and the eggs are a sad heap of yellow in the bottom of a heated container. The bread is very much like that given out by slimmers world. The bread toasts into biscuits so totally useless. I would steer clear of this hotel and instead opt for the hotel Florida next door. I need a holiday to get over this holiday.
To say that this has fully renovated is misleading. I cannot see any work that has been done in my room Decoration is poor. Furniture basic Towels thin in fact shower towel is a cloth. As said in Fawlty Towers " Bathroom, not bigger enough to drowned a mouse". I won't be staying here again.
I stayed here with my 13 year old daughter. Had the BEST time, Sorrento is a 30 minute walk but because it's so beautiful you just take it all in and before you know it your where you want to be!!! All the staff are very helpful and friendly, the bedrooms were cleaned everyday and we had a lovely outside terrace which was nice and quite! The breakfast was a lovely continental breakfast with a wide range of foods to eat! The Pool area is fantastic, not overcrowded and nice and relaxing! I would recommend Hotel Londra to ANYONE!!! Beautiful Hotel and Beautiful people!
We stayed at the Londra for 2 weeks, me, my hubby and our 16 and 13 year old daughters. From start to finish we could not have been made more welcome. The views from our balcony were amazing, room very clean, staff warm friendly people. We were B&B and the breakfast was mainly continental with such a variety you were spoilt for choice. Our room was cleaned every single day and beds changed 4 times during our stay. We had drinks delivered by the poolside with a smile and great advice on best places to visit and how to do it without being ripped off! We were picked up at 6.45am when returning home, breakfast didn't start until 7am, there was 4 goody bags waiting for us as in reception when we left. Masimo is one of the managers, he is a top man and will help you with anything, great sense of humour. Vinchenzo is a waitor and a true gentleman. Location suited us fine as we are an active family. We will look back on our stay with many fond memories.
I stayed here for 7 nights half board at the end of July 2017 and had a very enjoyable stay. The hotel is a small family run hotel typical of the area and was what I expected. I had a good size room on the ground floor - it did not get direct sunlight which was a bonus because the room remained relatively cool. Very comfortable bed, full size wardrobe with plenty of hangars and a large bathroom with shower. you can also hire a fridge for 4 euros a day. The shower cubicle was small but no smaller than in other small hotels that I have stayed in. the hotel has a bar - drinks very reasonable priced. The hotel was very clean - the staff and room cleaners worked really hard and were polite, pleasant and helpful as were the waiters/bar staff/snack bar staff. The food was good - as you would expect in a small family run hotel. the location is great - convenient 15 minute walk to Sorrento and 10 minutes up to the centre of Sant'Agnello with shops, bars and train station and 5 minute to Marinella beach. The hotel has a pool which was very clean and a good size for swimming and had plenty of sun loungers. This hotel is ideal if you want a small hotel with good facilities without the cost and noise of a central Sorrento hotel. Some people might find only one electric socket in the rooms an issue. As a solo traveller I found the hotel and location ideal and would stay here again.
