There were good and bad aspects to this hotel. I was sharing a room with a friend so there were two single beds but the room was too small. Our balcony was dirty when we first arrived and there was a lot of shade because we were facing a giant rock (but it was cold to begin with because we came in February). Our en-suite was okay but a little squished up with the tiny shower. Unfortunately, the shower was made with some plastic curtains that were very poor which actually resulted in me slipping forwards but no serious harm was caused. The staff were friendly as soon as we arrived which made us feel welcome. The only thing that was really bad about this hotel was the food. It was awful, plastic-like and was tasteless. I came here with quite a large group of people and we all had the same meal and I can tell you that none of us ate every single thing on our plate. Apart from that, the hotel was warm and very basic, with hand towels and air conditioning provided although the hair-dryer didn't work at all and the television should have had more English channels. Personally, I wouldn't come here again but everybody's experience is different!

We arrived in Sorrento as part of a group. Location perfect. Breakfast was boring & monotonous, scrambled eggs each day. The tables were set with a knife and a spoon only plus cup and saucer which you had to take to the tea station. One had to go and get a desert spoon if one indulged in fruit and a fork to eat the scrambled egg. One was up and down from the table continuously. I did suggest that they put the cups & saucers near the tea station and to reorganise the dining hall so that the food would be in the centre rather than a corner to allow free movement. There were also too many people to a table, it was like an obstacle course. Bedrooms were comfortable and clean.

I stayed at Hotel Ascot for two nights in January 2018. The hotel is well located and the rooms were lovely; spacious and clean. However, it’s unfortunate that my stay was ruined by over $300 being stolen from my room. It’s disturbing that the culprit went to the effort of opening my suitcase and rummaging through it. I can confidently say the incident took place here for a number of reasons, which were only supported when another guest staying on the same floor also complained of cash being stolen in the same manner and on the same day. The staff offered no apology, no offer to investigate and no empathy at all - only claims of impossibility. What an infuriating violation that tainted my Sorrento experience.

I stayed at the hotel as part of a group tour. At first we thought that the place was nice, good location, rooms tidy. We came back from a group excursion to find that some of our locked rooms had been accessed while we were away. Multiple bags had been gone through and cash had been stolen from a number of people. Hotel denied any involvement. It makes me sick to my stomach to think that someone went through my things. I would not recommend this hotel.

Had lovely week here...Staff lovely ..Very clean...rooms small but comfortable beds big bathroom and shower was lovely . Bar food very good...Great location for the city..make sure you get a back room less noise if your a light sleeper...Lovely walks around the city beautiful place...would go back for city break...

Stayed one night on a Cosmos tour. Our room was small and spartan but adequate. Nice courtyard to relax or enjoy an in house pizza. Dining room too. There is also a pool. Nice people running the place an a great location to explore Sorrento by foot. I liked the place.

Recently returned from a second visit to the Hotel Ascot & was not disappointed. The staff are so pleasant & helpful. We were half board & the meals were first class, service to match. Highly recommended. The location of the hotel is perfect for exploring the city. Look forward to going back.

I was in hotel Ascot in may 2 year ago.Hotel is nice ,has nice pool .Little bit far from city center. The staff is friendly, kind ,and it is clean ,the room was nice with big bathroom, the food was delicious, Italian taste. The hotel is located between few big intersections, the noise of the traffic was terrible, big tracks, trash tracks, buses, motorcycles, big bangs ,day and night. I had 7 sleepless nights, was sorry ,such a nice hotel,at the such beautiful peace of paradise in Sorrento.

Stayed here for a week through Travel Department Ireland with organised trips to Pompeii, Amalfi Coast, Positano, Ravello and Capri. The hotel was really clean and staff were very friendly especially Paula at the bar. We had evening meals in the package which can save some money but some nights the meals weren't nice and ended up eating out on 2 of the nights. If the dinners were improved this would be a really great hotel. We were happy with everything else including lunch which we had on 2 days here. The hotel is well located near the centre of Sorrento. They also cater very well for coeliacs including gluten free pizzas and beer. I recommend this hotel but they lose marks for their poor evening meals.

A traditional style hotel that was very welcoming and friendly. The hotel is in a great location at the end of the main shopping street with all amenities within easy reach. Our room was spacious and clean and had a very large balcony which had a table, chairs and sunbeds on which was great. The pool area was very nice and it was easy to find a sunbeds when you wanted one. The restaurant was very good with really friendly and helpful staff. Breakfast had a good choice of food with all the usual continental items plus scrambled eggs and sausage. The evening meal offered three choices for each course and the food was always very good. If you are a fussy eater then the limited choice may not be for you but if not it is fine.
