This is a lovely hotel with the friendliest staff I have ever met. It is a short walk to Sorrento town centre and there are plenty of shops and restaurants nearby. I spent a week half board in a quiet, air-conditioned room with ensuite shower room overlooking the pool. The room was very clean and nicely furnished with an excellent amount of storage. There was a wide choice of food for breakfast and dinners were composed of several delicious courses. Signore Roberto and the restaurant staff were always professional, friendly and attentive and nothing was too much trouble for them. They ensured that my friend, who is lactose intolerant, was always catered for, going as far as making an amazing lemon cake just for her that was lactose free. It was one of the nicest cakes I have ever eaten. There is a lovely terrace to the side of the bar where we spent a fair bit of time and the bar staff were great at putting together cocktails quickly. It was a lovely place for a nightcap. There was also an extensive and quiet roof terrace with sunloungers and a view to the Bay of Naples. Everything was very reasonably priced and I would highly recommend this hotel. I had a wonderful week in the Hotel Ascot and I hope to return.

Nice little hotel with friendly staff. The food was not good, but that just left more room for us to go get gelato! We only stayed here two nights but enjoyed our stay. Remember that you are not in America and adjust your expectations accordingly and you will not be disappointed.

A first class and highly recommended hotel with the best staff, accommodation and food we have encountered for a long time. Situated within easy walking distance of leisure amenities and attractions. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Ascot hotel very central in sorrento only 10 minutes walk to square. Hotel itself is nice, friendly staff but a bit dated in decor and the food is basic, breakfast very nice. If your room is to front of hotel it can be noisy Across from hotel there is a lane way that gets you down to the harbour where you can hire sun beds and swim in a limited area in the bay of Naples only 10 minute walk from hotel. Over all hotel very well located, loads of bars and restaurants within minutes walk

We spent a fabulous week and could not fault this hotel. It met all our needs, clean comfortable rooms, friendly staff who went out of their way to help. Roberto was such a gent and looked after us very well. Food was very good, both breakfast and Dinner. Situated in a prime location within walking distance from all amenities. The hotel and staff enhanced our magical experience.

We stayed at this hotel booked through Jet 2 Holidays as a family (2 adults, 1 child aged 13) for a week in May 17. The hotel is in a great location very near to the main square Piazza Tasso and the bustling streets full of shops and bars. This is the main reason we chose the hotel. After reading the reviews we thought that although it had been said the food was poor the location was worth it. The room we had was very clean - good shower and towels changed daily. Plenty of room for 3 of us. Had a kettle, mini fridge and tv (if needed) and air conditioning. The room was at the front of the hotel - the balcony was too small for 3 of us to sit out in comfort and it would have been too noisy anyhow - rooms at the rear of the hotel looked to have larger balconies and would be quieter. The hotel was very clean and the staff were friendly and helpful. I wouldn't say this was a family hotel - the pool was small and had no shallow area for children - didn't really bother us as we were out most days sight seeing. On the couple of times we sat round the pool there were sunbeds available - due to the fact there were no children our 13 year old was conscious of making a noise and a bit bored! The food was poor unfortunately and this really let the hotel down. We were half board so had evening meal and breakfast - breakfast wasn't too bad - the usual continental fare of white bread rolls, sliced bread for toast, cheese, ham and salami, tinned fruit and pieces of fresh fruit. There were scrambled eggs and hard (very hard) boiled eggs daily then other random items - sweetcorn one morning? Evening meals were a different matter - we did try to find something we liked - although my child is not a fussy eater we really struggled - 3 choices for starter and 3 for main and dessert - pasta wasn't too bad - it was on for starter every night and there was soup every night (not home made) the main meals were usually meat or fish with a small portion of veg and potatoes mixed (frozen peas, carrots etc) dessert was ice cream, cake or fresh fruit (4 pieces in a dish, not sliced or anything) There was also a small choice of salad - but really weird combinations - eg one night the tinned fruit salad had been tipped into the lettuce - there was also a random hot choice by the salads - one night some sort of sausage rolls and on another it was frittata. We are not really fussy and try to make the best of where we are but we admitted defeat with 3 nights to go and decided to eat out and had some really lovely, well priced food in the local restaurants. I don't understand why in a place where the food and ingredients are so lovely the chef served really tasteless, poor food. So having said all that would we stay again? Yes - the location is very good, the drinks are well priced and the bar area outside is lovely - as was the food served from the snack bar at lunchtimes (bizarrely) I wouldn't stay half board but would pick bed and breakfast and give the evening meal a swerve. If you want something for kids in the hotel don't pick this one - it was mostly middle-aged folk on organised tours. If you are going out and about sightseeing then you'll be fine.

Great hotel ideally situated for a city break. Meals were great and I think some people must be expecting English food from their disappointing food reviews. The meals were typically Italian and the food was plentiful however, the vegetables selection was a little strange. The pool was ideal after a busy day walking and sightseeing

We stayed at the Ascot hotel as part of a tour group and having read various reviews, both good and bad my wife and I had some misgiving about this hotel. Well from the time we booked in until the time we left, the staff were friendly and polite, the food in our opinion was good and the room we were in, which was in the garden at the back of the hotel was excellent. The food was varied and we found that even though some people might not like Italian cuisine we found wholesome and tasty and we didn't feel the need to leave the hotel for evening meals like some of our group did. We would happily stay in this hotel again.

We stayed at the Ascot as part of a tour group. The Hotel is fine, comfortable, rooms serviced and fresh towels every day, could be updated for sure but overall the only real complaint we had was the food and, because it's so central, it could be a bit noisy at night as most locals seem to prefer scooters and motorbikes!! having said all that the staff were lovely especially Paola- everybody loves her!! well within walking distance of the central shopping area and the habour and train station, so overall yes i would stay again.

Hotel Ascot is in a prime location, only a short walk to the Piazza Tasso, (depending how slow you saunter...) and for the harbour and main marina for the ferry. The hotel is family run, very clean with friendly staff, especially Paola and Roberto who like a bit of banter. There were 6 of us in our party and we had a brilliant time. We had a continental breakfast. Okay, there wasn't fresh fruit salad, but there was fresh fruit on offer every morning and there are many hotels who also do this!!! The evening meals were tasty and plentiful - I've had worse at more formal hotels!!! All the staff were respectful and helpful and sometimes tourists forget to reciprocate this especially as we are visiting their country.... We would definitely stay here again.
