Recently returned from a second visit to the Hotel Ascot & was not disappointed. The staff are so pleasant & helpful. We were half board & the meals were first class, service to match. Highly recommended. The location of the hotel is perfect for exploring the city. Look forward to going back.
I was in hotel Ascot in may 2 year ago.Hotel is nice ,has nice pool .Little bit far from city center. The staff is friendly, kind ,and it is clean ,the room was nice with big bathroom, the food was delicious, Italian taste. The hotel is located between few big intersections, the noise of the traffic was terrible, big tracks, trash tracks, buses, motorcycles, big bangs ,day and night. I had 7 sleepless nights, was sorry ,such a nice hotel,at the such beautiful peace of paradise in Sorrento.
Stayed here for a week through Travel Department Ireland with organised trips to Pompeii, Amalfi Coast, Positano, Ravello and Capri. The hotel was really clean and staff were very friendly especially Paula at the bar. We had evening meals in the package which can save some money but some nights the meals weren't nice and ended up eating out on 2 of the nights. If the dinners were improved this would be a really great hotel. We were happy with everything else including lunch which we had on 2 days here. The hotel is well located near the centre of Sorrento. They also cater very well for coeliacs including gluten free pizzas and beer. I recommend this hotel but they lose marks for their poor evening meals.
A traditional style hotel that was very welcoming and friendly. The hotel is in a great location at the end of the main shopping street with all amenities within easy reach. Our room was spacious and clean and had a very large balcony which had a table, chairs and sunbeds on which was great. The pool area was very nice and it was easy to find a sunbeds when you wanted one. The restaurant was very good with really friendly and helpful staff. Breakfast had a good choice of food with all the usual continental items plus scrambled eggs and sausage. The evening meal offered three choices for each course and the food was always very good. If you are a fussy eater then the limited choice may not be for you but if not it is fine.
What a lovely place to rest our weary heads for two nights. The room is lovely, large and has everything we need. A fridge, safe, plenty of power outlets, a wardrobe and a decent sized bathroom. Still the shower is small and confined but everything else is of normal proportions. Reception staff appear to be helpful but we have NO internet coverage for our entire stay, They say it is due to too many people using it but we simply cannot connect even with the variety of passwords that are given. It is in a great location and a short walk to the laundry mat, the local souvenir shops, markets, classy shops and restaurants and bars.
The hotel staff are friendly and responsive to your needs. The rooms are spacious. It's hard to get an iron and ironing board, and if available the one you get, the ironing board is so small. The food in the restaurant is very basic and tastes like an average home cooked meal. Recommend you eat outside the hotel.
First visit to Italy. Rooms spacious, cleaned every day. Food smashing good variety. Comfortable dining room. Great situation handy for buses, shops, bars etc. Would definately be happy to recommend this Hotel. Staff very friendly and efficient.
Just returned from a week at this hotel and although we enjoyed our holiday in Sorrento and the location of this hotel is very good for exploring the town and its attractions, I have to say that I would not recommend it to anyone considering a stay there. We had a first floor room overlooking the garden and outside sitting area of the hotel, but also with a view of the very busy road. The road noise was evident all of the time, including through the night. The worst thing about this place was the food on offer. The menu was very limited and repetitive and the food quality was abysmal. We were on half board but ate out on 4 of the seven nights. On two occasions we went to the restaurant, in the cellar, and after ordering and trying the food on offer we decided to leave it and find a restaurant nearby.
This hotel was a find by accident. We were to stay in a different hotel but since we have kids on this trip, this was given to us as option. location is great - right on main street of Sorrento - Corsa Italia where best of the best of dining and shopping is just in walking distance. The shops remain open till midnight so it is very safe. The only downside to that may be that it is very busy, but for us it was a plus since busy with people meant safe. The bar in the hotel has cozy indoor and very casual outdoor sitting area outside. Prices are very reasonable for the district. The restaurant is very clean and staff is professional. Quality of cooking is comparable to high end but with very very reasonable prices. The best quality of this hotel is English speaking staff with very warm attitude towards guest. They are ready to help anyone and everyone. Roberto, the owner of the place is very genuine and kind. We would definitely come here again.
We are staying at the Hotel Ascot and I have to say it's a lovely Hotel. All the staff are lovely. The rooms are spacious and very clean and the bathroom is large too. The food has been lovely all fresh local food, there is hot food, ham, cheeses, pastries, yoghurts, fresh fruit and toast for breakfast. The evening meal there are choices of three starters, three mains and three desserts, these are local dishes which are lovely. Yesterday I had shrimp risotto followed by a pork escalope with ham and cheese and seasonal vegetables and a lovely fresh fruit salad with some lovely local lacrima Christi rise wine, simple but beautiful and full of flavour. The hotel is perfectly situated for Sorrento's main square being a maximum 10 minute amble. If you like relaxed family run hotels then come here is lovely.
