Had a really fantastic week here. The room was spacious and the views were absolutely stunning (Although we paid quite a bit extra for a room with a view, but it was worth every penny). The hotel staff were really good and the breakfasts and evening meals were excellent. We went with Tui and would highly reccomend it. The only downside was the distance from the airport.
Stayed for 4 nights with my family in late October. The views from our room down onto Sorrento and the Port were breathtaking. Courtesy bus into the town provides a great service. Food in the restaurant was very good. The staff throughout the hotel were helpful, professional and friendly. Special mention the the manager and his staff in the restaurant, they were brilliant.
From the moment we stepped into this hotel we were blown away by the view, the fantastic staff and the amazing food. We didn't want to leave. 10 mins out of town but free shuttle bus makes it easy, and Tony the driver is a legend. Highly recommended.
Our friends recommend this hotel for our trip to Sorrento. Fantastic place with the best views. The hotel was lovely and the staff really looked after us. Our room was just perfect, lucky enough to get the room with outside jacuzzi on the balcony.. wow what a view. Food was excellent, breakfast and dinner had a great selection. Staff professional and friendly. The housemaid was so lovely and made our room every day. Lovely lady. I would highly recommend this hotel.
Great location with stunning views overlooking Sorrento. Shuttle bus runs frequently & driver is very friendly & helpful. Staff at reception are helpful although they could be more friendly. Rooms & hotel is very clean in general. Some noise comes from cleaners & rooms close by. Food was very good although we were served an incorrect order on one occassion.
We arrived early evening after British Airways losing our bags. Greeted by reception, a rather formal gentleman who would benefit from smiling and being more approachable. The ding staff were wonderful, and the head waiter Antonio(?) was lovely and played his part well. The food was good, with a good variety and dietary needs were well met. We paid the extra for a room with a view, and I am so pleased we did, what a fabulous view! All service staff were friendly and chatty, they all spoke wonderful English so put my dire Italian to shame. The shuttle bus is definitely a bonus, couldn’t fault the drivers, even with their quirky music choices! I would certainly recommend and go back again.
Excellent food and staff. Nothing too much trouble. Great location and stunning views. Did not pay extra for a sea view but we don't go on holiday to sit on a balcony.... Cooking event hosted by the hotel made the holiday for all of us as did the limoncello tasting.
Stayed for a week from 13th October and arrived at 11.40 am by taxi from Naples airport. We didn’t expect to get our room straight away nor did we expect an upgrade to a sea view so straight away we were impressed. I won’t repeat what others have said but the hotel suited us for a week although some may say it’s too far out. Every aspect of the hotel was great and the only downside was the very early pick up to go home. We had read reviews from people who said be prepared to have a room looking onto a brick wall but we were lucky as we chose not to Pay for a sea view when booking. My only negative which is not the hotels fault is noisy guests who walk past rooms late at night with no courtesy for others. On our first night we went to bed too early but had been up since 3.30 but lay awake hours listening to people drag furniture around above. Why people do this I’ll never know!!!!
We had a fabulous stay at the Grand Hotel President from beginning to end. We arrived in the evening and were checked in very quickly. They had kept a hot buffet open for us (we booked half board) which was a nice surprise. The room was huge, shower was powerful and hot and we had a nice balcony that got sun in the afternoon. The view that greeted us when we went to breakfast the next morning was breathtaking, a lookout over the whole of Sorrento and the bay of Naples towards Vesuvius and there was so much food to choose from I'm surprised I didn't go home 2 stone heavier. The food all week was tasty, varied and generous. The pool was lovely and the whole hotel was spotlessly clean, there were lots of terraces and little areas to sit and chill or sunbathe. The staff were friendly, engaging and went out of their way to help you. The free cookery course was the highlight of our week - such good fun and we've made the recipes at home too. There's a free bus that runs regularly to the town and takes about 10 minutes, or you can walk down in about 15. We chose to walk back up every day - good exercise and the only reason I didn't put weight on after a week of eating all that lovely food. There's so much to do in the area, we went to Capri - get an open air taxi to Anacapri (€25) and the cable car to the top, we preferred it up here to Capri town itself. Got the train to Pompeii (about €5) and took on a walking tour while we were there - the train saves a lot of time sitting in the car as the traffic is really busy. The tour we both liked best was a trip up to Vesuvius and visiting a vineyard on the slopes afterwards. Because it was the wine harvest (late Sep for white and Oct for red) I was able to tread the grapes - squishy but fun. We went the week of 22nd Sep and the weather was great, about 21*c in the day but chilly at night. We don't do package holidays usually but booked with Thompson because the price included flights, transfers, luggage and half board and we were not disappointed it was superb value for money. We had such a great time we'll definitely go back to see more of the area and would not hesitate to stay in this hotel or recommend it. Thank you to everyone at the Grand President, you really added to the fun we had on our holiday.
We booked our holiday through Thompsons (Tui). The hotel far exceeded our expectations. The views from our room of the Bay of Naples were amazing - why would you not book a room with a sea view? The room itself was wonderful and the food and choice so good we never bothered venturing into town for dinner. Normally we would never stay half board, preferring to choose locally, but the reviews we read beforehand were very positive, so we took the risk. The breakfast choice was also unbelievable, anything you could think of was available. All the staff were courteous, helpful and the hotel's standards were set very high. Needless to say we had a superb week's holiday and couldn't recommend the hotel more highly.
