A return visit to Sorrento, but a different hotel, why didn't we find this hotel before!! From the first day to the last exceptionally high standards throughout. We particularly enjoyed sitting in the outside warmth in the cafe bar at lunchtime gazing out over the view of the bay of Naples. The shuttle bus in to Sorrento worked well for us, as there were several trips daily. There is a restaurant with extensive choices and a buffet a couple of times a week; in addition there is an a la carte restaurant, for which you have to pay extra, but is well worth visiting. Really could not fault our stay at this hotel, we will be back.
We were on a family holiday in Sorrento and stayed here for 11 nights. It's at the top of the resort so we regularly used the free shuttle bus, there's no real alternative if you want to visit the town or travel to sights such as Pompeii or Herculaneum. The bus back up the hill was often very busy so make sure you're at the stop in plenty of time. The room was comfortable and clean and the pool area is lovely, no issues getting sun beds. The food in the restaurant was varied and excellent, drinks are expensive but this is Sorrento. We made trips to Capri, Pompeii & Herculaneum but organised these ourselves using the excellent local train service rather than a booking via the hotel. If you do plan a visit to Capri, we suggest including an overnight stay as the island is a much more enjoyable place once the day trippers have left. The only slight disappointment with regards to the hotel was the evening entertainment which was usually a cabaret singer or pianist, the hotel was very quiet in the evenings despite it being July which wasn't great as the shuttle buses run less frequently at night.
Beautiful location with great views of Sorrento and Vesuvius. Hotel was excellent, we had a nice room with no view but sun in the afternoon (it's either one or the other). Very convenient shuttle down to Sorrento for trips to Capri etc. Would happily go back there again.
it's a year since we visited this hotel and our most recent holiday cements how fantastic all aspects of this hotel are. the location is in my opinion ideal. yes it isn't in the town centre but that's what makes it so special. it's up on a hill (you can walk to sorrento which we did a few times and is 30mins downhill but there is also a free shuttle bus) being on a hill the views are spectacular over mount Vesuvius and we are every meal on the terrace. we also had a room with a view. I wouldn't want to be without a view. the staff are amazing. the hotel is small and you are made to feel well looked after . they maintain the hotel impeccably. I liked that dinner wasn't a buffet. food was brought to you after you chose off a set menu that changed daily. the food was brilliant. -dessert wasn't all that but I never find it is in hotels abroad. could just be my tastes. we were half board and the food at the main restaurant was so good that we didn't eat at the a la carte restaurant so can't comment on that. there is SO much to do nearby. do it yourself by public transport and save a lot of money. the trains are so easy to Pompeii and herculaneum. no changes.
This is our favourite go to place as a couple and as a family! We were married in Sorrento in 2013 and stayed with the President for a week and were so happy with the hotel and staff from the moment we arrived to the moment we left, we returned along with our 2 young teenagers again in 2015, both of whom love it there. Our third visit in 2017 we had an new arrival of only 3 months old and they could not be more accommodating! This is our favourite bolt hole for many reasons but ultimately it is consistently the staff that are so welcoming and go above and beyond to make sure we have such an amazing experience every time. We cannot wait to be back in the next year or so with 2 with our little one and possible the teenagers. The President is within walking distance down, up is a little harder with the heat but is doable but the shuttle buses are so frequent with a friendly Tony at the helm. Carla and team on reception are there with a welcome smile each day along with friendly lower bar and lounge. Maitre d Antonino welcomes you into the restaurant for breakfast and even if you are not a morning person it would be hard not to smile with the team in there. Down at the swimming pool, more happy staff, another Antonino lol and up at the rooftop bar with thee most spectacular view you will find Carmine, who is such a gentleman. Each and every member of staff make a difference and we are always happy to see the same smiling faces on each return visit. Continuity, speaks volumes for the hotel itself. I would highly recommend booking when the festival takes place in July as the firework display is out of this world from that height, you would not regret it!
Had a really fantastic week here. The room was spacious and the views were absolutely stunning (Although we paid quite a bit extra for a room with a view, but it was worth every penny). The hotel staff were really good and the breakfasts and evening meals were excellent. We went with Tui and would highly reccomend it. The only downside was the distance from the airport.
Stayed for 4 nights with my family in late October. The views from our room down onto Sorrento and the Port were breathtaking. Courtesy bus into the town provides a great service. Food in the restaurant was very good. The staff throughout the hotel were helpful, professional and friendly. Special mention the the manager and his staff in the restaurant, they were brilliant.
From the moment we stepped into this hotel we were blown away by the view, the fantastic staff and the amazing food. We didn't want to leave. 10 mins out of town but free shuttle bus makes it easy, and Tony the driver is a legend. Highly recommended.
Our friends recommend this hotel for our trip to Sorrento. Fantastic place with the best views. The hotel was lovely and the staff really looked after us. Our room was just perfect, lucky enough to get the room with outside jacuzzi on the balcony.. wow what a view. Food was excellent, breakfast and dinner had a great selection. Staff professional and friendly. The housemaid was so lovely and made our room every day. Lovely lady. I would highly recommend this hotel.
Great location with stunning views overlooking Sorrento. Shuttle bus runs frequently & driver is very friendly & helpful. Staff at reception are helpful although they could be more friendly. Rooms & hotel is very clean in general. Some noise comes from cleaners & rooms close by. Food was very good although we were served an incorrect order on one occassion.
