After staying in a full board hotel last year and missing out on the Italian food etc we decided to go to a b & b we found the Emily suits on the main street in sorrento nice and easy to get to all sorrento has to offer we were met by Emily who was so lovely and showed us all we needed to know the room was immaculate so was the bathroom the breakfast was fab and set us up for the day the croissants and homemade cake was absolutely delicious cappacino to die for lovely views from bedroom of the sorrento hills and sunrise and sunsets Emily and her lovely mum made us so welcome we were sad to go but will definitely be back next year.
Emily Suites are great basic suites with amazing staff and breakfast. Really close to the train station. Emily can’t do enough to help. Emily recommended and booked a boat trip to Capri and it was the best day ever !!! Highly recommend
We had a lovely stay in Emily Suites for 5 nights - 4 consecutive nights followed by one night when we return from our few night stay in Capri ! Emily makes a great host and we felt very much at home during our stay in Sorrento. Not only is she hospitable, she is superbly organised. She delights her customers and never fail to look into the finest details such as all our transport, luggage and daily breakfast arrangements which made our stay in a foreign land as comfortable and stress-free :) The room and bathroom are clean and well-kept. In Emily Suite, we appreciated having bleached white bed-sheets and towels like in the 5-star hotels, during our entire stay. Breakfast at Emily Suite is a daily delight. We get a good spread of both sweet and savoury pastries, fruit cocktail/yogurt, cheese, ham, etc. We enjoyed the huge crossants prepared daily by Emily' mom :) We highly recommend this accomodation!
Stayed for a week early September for a friends wedding. The B&B rooms have been made out of 2 large apartments in a residential apartment block, a little odd but not a problem. Our room was beautifully decorated in a contemporary style. Immaculate throughout, excellent house keeping. The owner, Emily, is lovely, friendly and very helpful. She can save you the time of booking excursions and not knowing where to go and how to get there etc, she can book trips for you, advise on transport or even lend you her own driver. The continental breakfast is delicious and interesting. It kept us full until late afternoon. There is a fridge in the room and free aircon. The B&B is on the main road and next to a train line so there is the usual noise you'd expect but it wasn't noticeable to us, don't let this put you off. Its about a 15 min walk to the main part of Sorrento and train station. Would definitely recommend this place.
This is not a hotel but apartments converted into suites within a block. The conversions have been done well and there is a lot of space in the suites. The bathrooms are beautifully done too. Emily was fantastic and personally organised all our trips for us. Part of the deal was a continental breakfast served in our suite - Emily's mum prepares the breakfast every morning (you can have breakfast at a time of your choice) and this is served with the hot drink of your choice. Everything was so fresh , in good amounts and tasty that we didn't need to eat again until dinner in the evening! Fresh towels when we wanted, bed linen changed mid week and rooms cleaned every day. The only negative is that the block sits between the main road into Sorrento from Naples at the front and the local train line at the back, which we overlooked but there was a mountain beyond and only six trains an hour stopping between 11pm and 6am. The location was also positive in that it was a short walk on the flat into the town centre and the train station for our trips to Pompeii and Herculaneum! Great base for a visit to the area.
Emily Suites is one of, if not the best holiday accommodation we've stayed in. The room was spacious, well decorated and clean. Emily, the owner is friendly, very helpful and happy to share suggestions and tips for sight seeing and eating. Her and her mum couldn't be more helpful. The apartment is a relatively short walk straight along Corsa Italia from the train/bus station, so getting there from Naples Airport is straightforward enough. We had family staying in a range of different 4* hotels in Sorrento for a wedding and they had all paid a lot more than us for a smaller room and less exciting breakfast. They were a bit jealous of what had, so don't make the same mistake they did!
Emily was very hospitable, the room was clean and airy. There is TV in the room and roll down electric shutters to keep the noise and sun out for sleeping. It is a 10 minute walk to the centre of town. Included you receive breakfast in your room and you organise with Emily what time you want it. Emily advised us on which tours were more organised then others, we decided to do the boat trip to Capri Island and we were not disappointed, it was a whole day event picked up from Emily suites taken to the boat harbour and then returned back. Google it, it is as the pictures show, you wont be disappointed
The purpose of this review is not to provide any opinions but to state simple facts so that you will know exactly what to expect when you book this Bed and Breakfast. Accommodation Emily Suites consists of half of two floors within a five story residential block of flats. There are similar blocks of flats on both sides and the building is tightly sandwiched between the main road into Sorrento and Sorrento's railway line. I estimate the block was constructed in the 1950-70's. The common areas shared with local residents of the block consist of an entrance hallway, stairs and a very small lift - they are basic and dated but are clean. The lift itself is very old fashioned and tiny - holding a maximum of three people. There are approximately ten other residential flats in the block and Emily Suites consists of half of the third and fifth floors. We stayed in the Blue Room on the third floor on the first night. I would describe it as ordinary in terms of finish and furniture. It is very clean and had satellite TV and air conditioning. The bed consisted of two single beds pushed together and made up as a double. The bathroom was large but had a pipe through the outside wall that drained water from the air conditioning unit into a large clear plastic water container and created a dripping sound that was mainly suppressed by closing the bathroom door. Emily's office desk is directly outside this room in the corridor that leads to her other accommodation on this floor. There is no balcony with this room but a single triple glazed window that overlooks the railway line and has a view of the hills behind the block. For the rest of our stay we moved to the fifth floor which consisted of two guest rooms and a common dining/kitchen area with a small balcony. The view from the balcony overlooked the bay but was noisy due to the road directly below. There were fold up chairs and a small table on the balcony but no furniture suitable for sunbathing. The fifth floor room was to a higher finish than the third floor room and was also a good size. Emily provides a good breakfast which is taken in your room or eaten in the dining area or balcony if you are on the fifth floor. The rooms are cleaned each day with fresh towels and the bed linen is changed every third day. Being a Bed and Breakfast there are no facilities at Emily Suites other than your room and access to the dining/balcony area if you are on the fifth floor. In the room there is a hair dryer and tea/coffee making facilities and we also had a fridge. There is a Laundrette one shop down from the entrance to the flats. With there not being any sunbathing or pool facilities at the accommodation you need to rent sun beds at the local seafront area (there's not a conventional beach in Sorrento) and this cost us £28 per day for two people. Staff Emily Suites is run by a team consisting of Emily and two other staff who are part time. Emily runs the business on her own. She is very dedicated and works extremely long hours. She is very charming, flexible and attentive and will do her utmost to ensure you are looked after. She is at the accommodation most of the day but resides elsewhere at night. She also employs a driver who can provide airport transfers and a tour of the Amalfi Coast. Location The building is located immediately next to the narrow and incredibly busy main road. The road has a continual procession of nose to tail traffic consisting primarily of scooters with cars, coaches and lorries. It is both very noisy and awkward to cross. The pollution levels from the traffic are high due to the narrow road being in between tall buildings and the shear volume of vehicles. The still air conditions of a typical hot summer's day during our stay magnified the issue. The main part of the town is a 15-20 minute walk and once there the traffic is better and the old town part of Sorrento is pedestrian only. There is a back street way into town and that is approximately a 25-30 minute walk but offers a lower level of road traffic. There are some eating places and a couple of pubs in the immediate area around the accommodation but with the pubs having open fronts and being on the main road they are effected by the pollution and noise. I hope the above paints a picture of Emily Suites that enables you to make an informed decision when booking this accommodation.
Emily suites is a great place to stay and we were truly spoiled by Emily and her mom Anna, they made our 25th wedding celebrations a special part of our trip. Very well located in the city within walking distance of all amenities. thank you Emilia and Anna, your cakes and special desserts were tops! You made our stay very pleasant and your references to the city and surroundings very instrumental to a successful stay. Luisa e Pasquale, Montreal Canada
We stayed here for 3 nights in June. Upon arrival we were given a free upgrade and had a room on the 5th floor. The room was perfect -a good size, homely, clean and well decorated. The view from our room and the communal balcony was perfect - sea view. The location is great- just 10 minutes from the station and the town centre. Emily is an absolute star- very friendly and welcoming. Upon arrival she took the time to ask us what we wanted to see and do during our trip and gave us advice. She asked about the foods we liked and prepared breakfast accordingly (we are vegetarians). Breakfast was served on our balcony and was delicious - fruit, croissants, different cakes, quiches, breads, biscuits, juice and coffee. The cakes and quiche were homemade -yum! Emily made us feel so comfortable and was always happy to help. I would highly recommend you stay here!
