When booking this hotel we had the choice of 2 rooms! £90-£105 room, we decided to go with the £105 room with no breakfast thinking you get what you pay for. We drove the 150 miles to the hotel expecting a decent room to check into then to meet up with our friends for an evening meal, but this was not the case!! We checked in and went up to the top floor via stairs and corridors to our room and open the door to what I would call a dingy £45 room. The both room had mild around the taps, toilet and the wall tiles, the carpet had not been hovered and the walls had stains on them. Very disappointed and disgusted that this room was costing £105 with no breakfast included for 1 night. I immediately went down stairs to complain and took the manger back to the room to show him who agreed with my complaint. So we grabbed our bags and made our way back to the reception then we was told they had no more rooms. A refund was given and we left, made our way to the Seymour Arms in blagdon where we paid £120 included breakfast and the room and bathroom was fantastic. I got an email from the manger apologising and that was that. We do not recommend the webbington hotel and spa, you could end up in the same Situation as we did. We missed our appointment with our friends and ended up eating at the Seymour Arms because it became to late by the time we checked out of the webbington and drove the 10 miles to blagdon and checked in. But every cloud has a silver lining because we did meet and have a drink with Guy Martin who was also staying at the Seymour Arms 👍
The Webbington Hotel was an excellent place to stay to visit the areas around mid/north Somerset (Wells, Bath, Weston-S-Mare and many other places). We didn't use the Spa facilities, but heard from other residents, that they were good. We will stay again in a few months time, as there is so much to do around that area. The staff were very helpful and offered to take our luggage to our rooms if we required them to - which is unusual these days. ALL the staff spoke to us and were friendly and cheerful. The breakfast was very good - buffet style, but other items can be asked for, by the waiters/waitresses that were around to assist you. The room was spacious, clean, a good variety of complimentary drinks/biscuits etc. and the bed was comfortable. Fantastic views from the terrace and several rooms. The only thing that I can suggest, is to have a sign post on the opposite side of the road at the entrance to the drive, as you can't see 'their' signs until you actually turn in to the place from the village of Cross. Other than that, I can recommend this Hotel. Well done to all the staff.
Me and my partner visited this hotel for 2 nights for a mini break and were very impressed with the hotel and all the staff from the lovely lady serving the breakfast to the most helpful receptionist ever was a pleasure to speak with. The room was large with standard tv tea coffee hairdryer ect all worked well and room was well presented and very clean The pool was big and the opening times until 10 pm was fab as we had a swim after a day exploring the local area - cheddar gorge and bath are recconended The breakfast was continental and full English and no complaints at all presented well lots of choice of juice ect Highly recommend booking a spa treament with Sue as she is lovely and the massage was super relaxing Overall fantastic hotel it’s highly recconended and will be visiting again
Friendly and welcoming greeting on our arriva The room (no 7), was spotlessly clean and very comfy, with great views from the window. The bar was well stocked...only grumble was no real local ale on draught..but hey ho. Bar food was very good The breakfast was excellent..although help yourself style, eggs were cooked to order...and the dishes regularly topped up with hot food A very enjoyable stay...friendly welcoming staff at reception, the bar,,and breakfast area
Have stayed at this hotel on various occasions and always found it great value for money. Cannot beat the price for a hotel with buffet cooked breakfast, leisure centre with swimming pool , steam room, sauna and fitness centre. Staff always give great service.
This is the best Best Western I have stayed in to date. The girl on reception last night was really pleasant as was the chap on the leisure club desk. Both were genuinely pleasant without being false. The room is great, restaurant is good and the hotel is clean and tidy. One superb asset which isn't advertised enough is the leisure club. The facility is fantastic. If you're after a hotel with a decent gym or pool then this is it! Lots of hotels advertise themselves as a spa then, when you arrive, you realise that they have put a pool in a conservatory and used a special camera lens to fool you into thinking it was big enough to swim in. The same trickery is often used for 'gym' photos too. Clever use of mirrors sometimes fools you into thinking that the gym isn't a running machine shoved into a cupboard. This place though is the real thing. I would have no hesitation in returning or recommending this hotel to others. I am here through work but would happily return with my family for a nice night away.
Well I must admit the treatments were amazing and well worth the price. The massage was fantastic! Sue is experienced, friendly and welcoming. She did wonders for my shoulders, neck and back. The facial was lovely. Thoroughly Enjoyed the experience. Highly recommend! The hotel itself in parts is a little tired (pool area), decor, furniture in changing rooms need replacing/repairing. No slippers and you do have to walk through the gym (which is well equipped) to get to the sauna and steam rooms. Bar / food and views were lovely. Staff were very friendly and welcoming too.
Visited this hotel for a wedding and stayed over, as a wedding guest it was amazing, really great day but from a paying hotel customer point of view it was very underwhelming. On at least 2 occasions the bar outside the function room was unmanned so we had to walk through the hotel to the main bar to get a drink, the bar ran out of certain things and only restocked when asked to by guests at the wedding. The food was ok but cold, I understand it's hard to get food out to that many people successfully but most other weddings seem to manage it, one of the guests on the table mentioned this but was met with a shrug from the waiting staff and as it was a wedding didn't want to make a scene. In the morning we had breakfast which again was disappointing, Sausages were overcooked and dry as a bone, bacon was undercooked and fatty, fried bread was awful, the toast had to be put through the toaster twice to get any colour, the most annoying thing though was that we were asked 3 times for our names to make sure we were on the list for a payed brekkie, the worst thing was the way they asked, it was very rude, instead of "excuse me sir / madam could I check your name is on our list?" it was an interrupting "What is your name? have you payed?" (3 times!) when we left the breakfast room a member of staff followed us out and again asked if we'd paid and if we hadnt could we go to reception straight away, not great customer service! As I said the wedding itself was great and the location and surroundings are beautiful and all of the above did not ruin our day. Congrats on the surroundings, great place for a wedding but need to work on staff attitudes and customer service.
The grounds were beautiful for wedding photos and the room used perfectly laid out, the reception, leisure and cleaning staff were lovely. My room met most of my needs but the lighting poor. First night no bar staff I had to ring reception to ask for staff (busy setting up for a wedding) Three weddings and only one member of bar staff seriously, she was so overworked and meant slow service, but the following day three bar staff and the service was worse (how could that be?) Packed lunch was lovely Breakfast lots of choice, self service And what I cannot understand was the price, well above that given on the internet; and wedding discount? Must be based on double that of the internet price, but the wedding was lovely So unsure if I would be revisiting
We went to this hotel with our toddler. The staff were really nice and accommodating, especially the receptionist and the female bartender. The hotel is very nice and the rooms are average and clean. Lovely views to be had from the terrace and the food was lovely.
