Central Park Hotel4.0 out of 5.0

Stayed here for 7 nights. My room was large, on the 9th floor overlooking National Palace of Culture (NDK) and practically half of Sofia. I was upgraded from a regular room for free. The room featured a very nice bathroom. There is air conditioning, but you also have the option to open the window for some fresh Vitosha mountain air. There is no pool or gym, but I didn't care for those features anyway. The staff is exceptionally friendly. The price is very reasonable for a hotel with such location and quality. Breakfast is extra so I had it only once. Abundant amount of food at a buffet featuring something for everybody. In my effort to try everything I walked out of there more than stuffed. Most of the time I picked up bresh-baked Bulgarian pastry (banitsa) from a small store just around the corner. I got good capuccino there too since the hotel does not offer any free coffee. One negative - the WiFi. It seemed like both of my phones will show "connected", yet I could not go to some sites. Sometimes there was no connection...period. I brought this to the reception staff and they promised to look into it. Overall I am very satisfied with my stay in this hotel and will definitely stay here again.
Had the pleasure to stay in CPH again in August Wouldnt even think of staying elsewhere as all the staff knows how to treat the guest and not least remember the wishes of a frequent visitor Full service from A to Z and even to Å
We have a pleasant two night stay at the hotel to celebrate our wedding anniversary. We were pleased with the attention of every one on the staff. The room was excellent and the restaurant as well. We hope to make this visit annually.
We stayed in one of the upper level panorama suites in late June. The views of Vitosha and Sofia were spectacular. You can see the sparkling domes of the Nevski cathedral in the distance. The room was modern and well appointed, with a giant bathroom and separate bedroom. The location is ideal for walking to most tourist destinations or hopping on the subway. We also enjoyed the restaurant and the accommodating service of the front desk staff and Zdravko. Next time I am in Sofia, I'll be staying here again.
Stayed her for 3 nights the hotel is clean, modern and the rooms are good size and have great air con which is an absolute must in Sofia. The location could not be any better next to the park and a few minutes walk to the pedestrian area of Vitosha Boulevard. Sofia is not as popular as some of the other Eastern European city breaks such as Prague and Budapest but holds it own with numerous attractions. We visited the Nevski and Russian churches , the Archaeological museum, the Socialist Art museum which was a couple of stops on the Metro from the centre at a grand cost of 80p for a single journey. We did not get to see everything with only two full days so will return and definitely stay in this hotel. For anyone travelling with children the Vitosha Boulevard is crammed with bars and restaurants and many locals are out with their children which makes for a very good friendly atmosphere. There is also a bowling alley five minutes walk from the hotel if the weather is bad at 4 Levs per game (£2). All in all we were impressed with Sofia and would recommend a 4 night stay to be able to to see all the attractions and this hotel is an excellent base.
The hotel is ok! For the price is good!! The advantage of this hotel is its location, because it is near to center!! The breakfast was disappointing and average!! The employees are very polite ,but the majority can't speak English so the communication is a little bit difficult!! The rooms are ok and clean! And the last complaint is that the reception gave to my family rooms in different floors(4 and 8 floor)!! I understand that it was full booked (as they told us) but we think that you could do something better!!
We spent a long time deciding which hotel to book in Sofia. We finally decided upon central because of reviews on trip advisor. I think that my expectations may have been heightened due to the reviews which I had read. The hotel is in a good location however the metro is great in Sofia so you could stay in many areas and probably get around using it. The pedestrian streets are within walking distance which was helpful. The room itself was clean and served its purpose of giving us somewhere to sleep. It's not a hotel room I would want to spend anymore time in. Our bed although a double came with two single covers which was unusual. The air conditioning was quite poor and never really cooled the room. The bathroom was huge and clean - the shower overflowed the water would not drain quick enough. All in all the staff were very helpful and spoke good English and the hotel room was clean and pleasant. The hotel was not our usual taste and we do prefer a more modern finish. If you're looking for somewhere central this hotel is perfect. However if you don't mind location perhaps other hotels within the same price range are better.
The Central Park Hotel (CPH) is ideally located directly across from the Palace of Culture and the beautiful park that surrounds it. A mere 5-minute walk to the head of the pedestrian thoroughfare on Vitosha (Vito-Shah) Boulevard that is chock-full-o restaurants, shops and people. The most PERFECT location if this is your first (or 19th) time in Sofia. And the CPH’s Just Do It, Get It Done staff…WOW! Blagoy, the assistant manager, knows nothing of the word no. Victorya at the front desk has a calculator for a brain and a heart of roses. English speaking Martin at the bar and restaurant was always helpful and kindhearted. The housekeeping staff works 24/7 (literally) to ensure this GEM in SOFIA is spotless. Ms. Raykovska, the hotels’ manager, has done an excellent job cultivating, deploying and managing the staff @ the CPH. They represent the best of the best in the world of hospitality. They are the real deal. True professionals. After 9 days in residence – May 2017 - this traveler can speak with some authority. If you seek further confirmation that the CPH should be your first choice this review is one among many that sing the high praise of 5 Stars (okay circles). Book it now, you should not be disappointed. Oh, I almost forgot; the higher floors of the CPH boasts views that have to be among some of the best in Sofia.
Checkin was quick and pleasant. Room was very nice and clean. Entire hotel is airconditioned. Continental breakfast was tasty. Staf was very friendly and helpfull. Hotel is situated near to all main sights. I can recomended this hotel.
As im writing this review i have a member of staff (house keeping) talking out loud on her phone right outside my room! Ok where shall i begin?! Ill start with positive points, it wont take that long... • the location is absolutely great, its walking distance to the best part of the city. • some of the staff are very sweet and friendly. • beds are comfortable. Now moving on to the negatives: • (the housekeeping woman got off the phone and now is talking out loud outside of my room, wish i could record her voice and submit it here!!) • no tea/coffee in the rooms • no iron and ironing board! • no proper lighting, the rooms looks orange when lights are on! • staff are incredibly slow (even though they're polite) • it took them over 25 minutes to send 2 towels upstairs to the 4th floor, (i had to call the reception more than 5 times only for the house keeping lady to knock on my door empty handed just looking at me smiling!!!!!!) oh i forgot to mention, the house keeping room is 4 doors down the corridor from my room, i only found out when i had to follow her to get an extra towel because she only brought 1 after all that time!!!! Im fetching my own towels now. • the toilet wasn't thoroughly clean, there is a ball of tangled long hair still seating on the toilet floor (i have very short hair almost shaved so it can not have been mine) • the bath tub squeaks the whole time you're in there trying to wash yourself. • the maintenance guys make so much noise getting in and out of the elevators which is literally by my room and they occupy and hold both elevators as long as they please. • lastly, the breakfast is absolutely awful absolutely awful here. I cant describe how bad it is. There is a coffee shop right next to the hotel, if you want to stay here go there for breakfast. I have to come to Sofia every 6 months for work but one thing is for sure i will not stay here again. 👎🏼
