Worst hotel, flush of pot not working, AC not cooling, soap not coming out of handwash, dust in room, staff very arrogant. Remote of AC not placed in room. You need to call someone for all problems but still no solution.
Other reviewers have said it all. Can't fault the hotel or the staff! Location is good - 10/15 minute walk to all areas of interest. Easily accessed from the airport by Metro - change at Serdika and leave at National Palace of Culture station. (Fare in May 2018 was Lev1.6 = €0.80!)
Never having been to Bulgaria before we decided to visit Sofia and coincide it with the tennis championship in February. The hotel is in a great location and central to everything. The staff were extremely welcoming and friendly. We had booked a suite and it was well worth the money. Only downside was the lack of doors between the lounge and bedroom so there was no way to have a separate room. The bathroom was enormous and the size of many a hotel room in the UK. Views were stunning across the city and the mountains. There's very little else to say other than the hotel and the staff were the saving grace of our trip. We found the city to be slightly unwelcoming, people were not that friendly or approachable. I'm not sure if this due to the time of the year and outside of normal 'tourist' season but also there was a massive lack of investment in basic infrastructure. The pavements were a mess, uneven paving, holes in the pavement with exposed cables, many tourist attractions with crumbling plaster etc. It actually made us quite sad. We did find the eating out very good and excellent value for money, just a shame some of the service was a tad gloomy... Would we stay at the hotel again - absolutely, would we visit Sofia again, not in any hurry.
A bright modern hotel, close to the pedestrianised shopping area with its many cafes and restaurants and opposite the National Palace of Culture. The room was clean with a good bathroom with a proper sliding glass shower door over the bath. The beds were supremely comfortable and ensured a good night's sleep. Breakfast in the bright restaurant was excellent with lots of choice.
We received a warm welcome at check in. In fact check in was fast and smooth, same with check out. When we checked in we had the pleasure of meeting Vicktoria the helpful FOM, nothing was too much for her. Although the hotel was fully booked all the staff including the doorman were very helpful and happy to be of assistance. Our room 606 was on the 6th floor and the view was overlooking the park and fountains as well as the National Palace of Culture. The hotel location is perfect as its very near to the shops on Vitosha Street. The bathroom was clean and full of all the necessary toiletries. The shower was hot and worked a dream. The bed, duvet and pillows were very comfortable, like home away from home. We look forward to coming back.
Great location, excellent rooms, meeting premises and food. Staff is very kind and professional, significantly contributed to easy and smoothly organization of the meeting for 25 participants in their premises in the time frame of two days. Meeting rooms are large, with all technical equipment on disposal. All rooms for guests were huge, clean and with great view. I highly recommend this hotel, both for private and business arrangements.
Good , clean hotel, staff were friendly and polite. The hotel offers a chargeable airport shuttle and I requested this a few days before arrival. I was collected at the airport by the hotel, was 21 Euros because it was after 2200 hrs (otherwise 18 Euros) , paid at reception. The person who picked me up was a lovely young man and spoke English fluently. If I had arrived during the day, I would have used the metro which costs UK 80p or 1.60 LEV (less than a Euro) and gotten off at NDK station, about 50m from the hotel. Breakfast was basic but good, but there was no gluten free bread (I think reviewer Sophie below got to it before I did :) . The waitress was very nice and apologetic , I should have notified the hotel prior to arrival so I don't fault them for this. Suggestion for the hotel if I may, gluten free bread can be frozen and defrosted, that way you will never run out. Anyway, I look forward to visiting again. Check in 20 April 2018, Room 908. I slept well , thank you.
Hotel very well situated --it's about 6 minute walk to the pedestrian section of Vitosha street that has many sidewalk restaurants and cafés. Right outside is a tram stop and the NDK metro stop. Accomodations are ok. Sheets were scratchy and pillows way too plump. Windows are unwieldy. Nice view from from room but you're on a busy street so if your window is open... Facing east so morning sunshine can quickly heat up the room. Blackout drapes excellent. Breakfast not included for us but free WiFi. Hostess in restaurant very solicitous regarding gluten free diet and made us a specially prepared breakfast with gluten free bread. Restaurant personnel particularly sweet and solicitous.
The rooms are very hot and the windows almost impossible to open. The street is too noisy anyway. The beds are a bit too synthetic for my taste, pillows and duvet seem to be pure plastic. Breakfast is boring. It’s all right for a couple of nights but I would look for something else next time in Sofia.
We stayed here as a group of 7 for 3 nights and were pleasantly surprised with this hotel. They are ideally located, a close walk to a selection of shops and restaurants on the Main Street of Vitosha. The hotel staff were extremely friendly and approachable. They assisted us with arranging shuttles, booking taxis, coordinating requests or tours. The breakfast was delicious with an appetizing spread that surpassed our expectations. We were also given complimentary dinner vouchers for use in the hotel since we had prebooked our breakfast, this was a pleasant surprise since we didn’t expect this. The rooms are modern, clean and tidy. I can’t think of anything that I would want them to do differently. Keep up the good hospitality Central Park, I highly recommend this one!
