One of the oldest facilities on the mountain. Lower prices help offset the wear and tear that’s come over the years. Kids have a game room to blow off steam, and there are movies for the little ones. Bring a humidifier to help sleep!!!
Check in was quick and easy. Room was nice and had everything we needed. The building itself was a little dated. Close to lift and village. Was nice for a quick getaway. Will be staying here again in a couple of weeks.
This place suited us perfectly. It is a little run down in the public areas but the 2b/2b condo we rented was clean inside and had everything we needed. We would definitely go back here. It was quiet and comfortable.
Our stay started off with a very unhappy employee telling us that no bikes were allowed in the building. We were there for the NATIONAL MOUNTAIN BIKE RACES HOSTED BY SNOWSHOE so this posed a problem for the hundreds of people staying at the mountain lodge. We had to leave a cash deposit in order to even get a KEY for our room! We entered the unit to find no dish soap and possible rat droppings on the counter. I asked front desk for soap- $2.11 please. We cannot give you soap they informed me. This poses a health problem when the dishes need to be cleaned. How does house cleaning not have soap??? Oh my! We also had a toilet that did not flush all week. The 2 bath unit quickly turned into a 1 bath situation. Cramped to say the least. It was hot and stuffy and our bedrooms windows opened up into a community hallway that housed wet dirty linens and trash. We had a dental emergency and our phone did not work. We could not call our friends to communicate all week. I will be checking elsewhere next yr.
Booked a 2 bedroom in this resort for a 3 night 2 day getaway. The room was Ok. Paid additional for the deluxe furnishings which were nice. However, there is no air conditioning. The building itself looks like a converted parking building or a dormitory. For the money that we paid it was not worth it. No housekeeping services and no amenities for adults. There was an arcade and a plastic playground inside. You had to walk to the village all of the way around the outside of the building. Restaurants that were open were quite a ways. Building staff was non existent. Plus there was paving and renovation going on. It should not have been open.
To be fair, there are a large range of units from poor to excellent in this complex so be certain to verify if the unit is rated as Budget, Standard or Premium. This stay we stayed in a budget unit and the furnishings showed the years of wear. The toliet in the bathrooms of all of these units is tucked in tight between the tub and the sink for ALL these units so if you need or want space in the bathroom, pick a different. Another thing you should know baout Mountain Lodge is that it is a MUCH older complex than other options. The walls are "paper thin" so you hear EVERYTHING going on both sides of your unit as well as the FACT that you will hear everytime a skier or snowboarder or literallly ANYONE walks in front of your room. The bedroom is positioned toward the hallways so you may have trouble sleeping wif there are any revelers. The complex has NO POOL or Hot Tubs but it is located basically across a parking lot from the famous Split Rock pools & hot tubs which are generally included when you rent directly from Snowshoe. If you are renting via VRBO AirBNB or Home Away, you may have to pay a $10 fee per person per session for access to split rock so factor that in when determining the value.
Sure, its not Veil, but the sky was good. The condominium is right on the slopes. It does need a refreshing if not a facelift, but the main issue that will preclude me for going back is the sorry state of the ancillary services: one morning several folks working at the ski rental decided not to show up resulting in a line of several hours...the worst part: trying to find a table at one of the few restaurants nearby
I cannot believe this property rated 3.5 stars; it should be 0. I stayed here at the end of the ski season (having never been to Snowshoe before). I called to book the reservation with the resort directly and was told this was a "great" property with wifi. It was a total dump! I booked 2 nights and left after 1 it was so bad. It looked like the facility was built in the 1960's and the rooms were never updated (except for the kitchen appliances). The wifi faded in and out in the room. To make matters worse, there is ZERO cellphone signal anywhere on the Showshoe resort property and few businesses have wifi - this should have been disclosed and I never would have come there. You could feel the metal springs & rods in the pullout bed and my son was unable to sleep. I tried talking to the resort staff about our problems but they could care less. For over $200 per night at the end of the ski season for this poor quality of a facility was a total rip-off.
Good value, near slops and center area. Rooms were clean and neat. service was good. Only problem we encountered was the staff and guests smoking in entry way, which allowed the smoke to enter the hallway, but other than that stay was very good. Always stay here when we go skiing. Plan to stay again
We had a 2 bedroom for 4 people and it worked out nicely. Like other reviews have said, the property is somewhat dated but it fit the bill for us. Kitchen was well stocked with equipment (didn't have a measuring cup, so bring one if you need one) and everything worked fine. Bathrooms were ok, nothing special but functional (one note, our place didn't have shampoo or conditioner so if you want some, make sure to bring some along with you). Room was not noisy and the internet was surprisingly fast (able to stream movies to multiple devices). Staff were very friendly and never had a problem asking for things. We were at the far end so it was quite a walk to get to the lift and/or the village. The pool is across the parking lot which is again a fair walk. I would probably try to get a room closer to the lift or get an equipment locker. Think we would stay at another location next time, to see how the new and closer places compare.
