When I was there Long Island had an unexpected snow storm and the staff was very accommodating and they worked with me and plus they plowed the snow very nicely so my cab could pick me up the next day when I was leaving. I always liked this place and still do. The customer gets more for their buck especially if you are on a fixed budget. I thank the staff very much. I love their included breakfast.:)

Only in emergency non smoking room obviously was not and a great deal of road noise Unfortunately not a lot of choice in area

The man in the front is extremely rude!!! He seems to be in a constant bad mood!!! He acts like he is doing you a favor for paying him to stay in his dump!!

Cheapest in the area, worked just fine. No frills but we didn't need frills.

The motel was OK for the price considering it was on Long Island. The manager was not pleasant to work with, but the rest of the staff was friendly. The WiFi in the room did not work at all. It would have been nice to have more selections for breakfast like fresh fruit or yogurt. We did enjoy our room because it was extremely quiet!

Really nice hotel. Very quiet room and good hospitality. I would definitely come back again. Free coffee and tea, nice touch

It's little hard for me to locate the hotel. But free continental breakfast starts at 6:00AM have me a wonderful morning.

In an area where you do not have many hotel options, this motel is a decent choice if you are looking for something inexpensive. The beds were comfortable and the amenities decent. The fridge and the microwave are very useful (I traveled with friends and we used the fridge to store some fruits and water. Overall the motel needs some remodeling, in particular the bathrooms should be updated soon. But cleaning level is acceptable and the staff are nice and helpful. The few breakfast items were good. Location is excellent for Port Jefferson and the Stony Brook campus. Overall, this model is primarily recommended to the budget-conscious traveler who does not have high expectations. We were a small group of guys, sio this worked absolutely fine for us. Otherwise you probably want to look elsewhere.

Necessary place to spend the night to avoid many hours of driving. Was disappointed to find garbage still in the bathroom pail. I made a reservation for 3 adults and couldn't believe that there were only 2 sets of towels available for use. The lights identifying the hotel also need to be a bit brighter. We drove right past the place and had to make a U-turn to go back.

We had a trip singing with a well known International Recording Artist. Thus, we searched for a hotel online near the venue. We found Americas Best Value Inn Smithtown/Long Island (They were excellent) and it was listed as a 2 star hotel woth a 3 1/2 star average review/rating. Our check in at the front desk was an easy and pleasant process. The staff was most cordial. The manager had informed me that they had recently switched from being an Econo Lodge. Their "continental breakfast" consisted of cereal, waffles, danish, orange juice, milk, coffee and more. Quite a surprise considering other places provide simply coffee, danish and juices. Finally, near check out time they called the room and politely asked if we would like to stay another night with them or would we be departing. We stayed for 2 nights and the rooms were excellently and the housekeeping staff was extra pleasant as well. We were sure to tip accordingly! The kind way and choice of words from each staff member made our stay one of the best we've had in a long time...especially since they are listed as a 2 star hotel. Thank you to the staff at Americas Best Value Inn Smithtown/Long Island You all were excellent! - I. Holmes

Just passing through. Spent one night. Accommidations were clean and comfortable. Would stop here again when driving through.

I've been to worse hotels on business trips, but this one was on the low end. The lobby has an overpowering stench, but my room smelt OK. But as soon as I got in the room: thump... thump... thump... The walls may as well be cubicle dividers. The next morning I could listen in on the housekeepers' conversation outside the door. One morning I walked out and a painter had just repainted the yellow lines in the parking lot. Drive out reeeal careful he said! He would've waited for me to drive out before painting, but he had to get to the beach by 1 PM. But hey- at least the WIFI works at this hotel and it's fast!

We requested non-smoking they gave us smoking. We requested 2 days they gave us one. If you wanted to shut the bathroom door you had to lift it up. The TV was bigger than the stand it was on. It did have a mini frig which was nice. It was like a scene out of a bad horror movie.

This room was clean and well-kept. The staff were accomodating to our needs, and made for a pleasant trip.

Asked for 2 PM check out instead of the posted 11 AM. Was offered 12 noon because they begin check in at 2 PM. Seems they could have extended a later check out for one room.

DON'T STAY HERE. We booked a non-smoking room online in advance. When we arrived, they assigned us to a smoking room. We changed, getting the last non-smoking room available. It had 2 double beds, whereas we had booked one king sized bed. No problem with that, except the next day - while we were gone all day - they moved us and our stuff without our knowledge or permission to a room with a king sized bed. That night when we returned, we couldn't get into what we thought was our room. So the night clerk re-swiped our room card. We went back, opened the door, and discovered other people sleeping in our room. The policeman informed us that the hotel also takes in people on the county social services roll. The cleaning staff stole my eye glasses, then magically "found" them when the policeman came. The story goes on, but you get the point.

The manager was rude. They claimed to offer free HBO but didn't. Otherwise it was mediocre all around.

I called to cancel early in the afternoon. They would not refund any of my money. Not even a partial refund.

The room was confortable and clean
