The hotel is situated on the road along the seaside. Great for a romantic stroll in the evening! Our room was not too big and not too small. Allright for a two-nights stay. However, we could not get the airco to work and had to get help from a hotel's technician. When it finally worked, it was very loud, so we turned it off during the night and opened the window instead. When we got back to our room on the second night, again it would not work. We were offered another room, but for one night could not be bothered and opened the window. That was fine, since we had a room in a quiet spot. The bathroom was a bit outdated, but adequate. Breakfast and dinner were good and the desserts yummy. Good hotel for a short stay.

Just across the road from the promenade in a central position. No tea/coffee facilities in the rooms. Doors have keys not card system and are cumbersome. Large dining room which can become quite noisy. Buffet style evening meal with plenty of choice but haphazardly displayed, eg., Rice not near the curry, milk not near the cereals. Food was good with a good spread for breakfast. Antiquated air con system which was noisy in some rooms.

I wasn't a guest at this hotel , a friend recommended me the wai tai wellness ! Thank god ... amazing massage , perfect place !!! I really recommend this place. The service is perfect and they def know their job !

Amazing hotel with great facilities. We really enjoyed the breakfast. Staff was very friendly. We would love to come back one day. The location of the hotel is very good: close to Koper, Piran, Izola, ...

We spent 10 days in the Hotel Riviera Portoroz with my family in the July 2017. The wellness, the pools are wonderfully renovated, the rooms are in good shape. The panoramic view from the balconies is fascinating. The breakfast and dinner was diverse and good taste. But we had have some problems with the wifi connection (probably the shading from the metal parts of the bathrooms (?) in the outernmost rooms). The nice informatic specialist guy tried to help us, but he failed. In the number 501 room the air-condition apparatus is old, it is time to change it. But in summary, Portoroz is a totally European place, we love it. Thomas 655, Budapest, Hungary

The friend I traveled with is a bit difficult when it comes to hotel rooms – she’s used to have a certain standard whereas I’m quite easy with accommodation. Due to that fact we booked a more exclusive hotel, but to be honest I was the one being disappointed. First of all the room looked quite old – it was clean, the shower and toilet worked fine, but I expected something more. The breakfast they offered was okay - a lot of sweet and savory dishes to choose from – I especially enjoyed the pancakes with chocolate. But the coffee and croissants were disappointing. The taste of the coffee was just dull and the croissants were small and dry. My friend and I wanted to enjoy one day at the spa, but they charge EUR 6,00 per person for “renting” a bathrobe and without bathrobe you are not allowed to enter the spa. I think a 4 star superior hotel should provide bathrobes and slippers free of charge. We would have booked massages, but we didn’t want to use the spa under these conditions. Furthermore at check-out the lady at the reception was rather unfriendly.

The hotel is nice and it has a great location in Portorož. The staff was also nice and friendly. Breakfast and pool are also ok. Worth the 4* overall. I wasn't fortunate enough to get a room with balcony and ocean view but didn't care much since I spent most of two days at the business conference. But now the --- When I got to the room there were many, many flies. And they were big! I tried to smack them all but in the morning I found out that there were a lot of them still flying around, disturbing my sleep! I didn't even opened the outside door, so they must have been there before. And someone (cleaning staff) should noticed them before me and do something about it. I hope they will clean the mess (you can see at the photo) and call the exterminator.

This hotel is the best hotel I have ever stayed in. It was exceptionally clean, food was great and Im a very picky eater. There is great swimming areas and hot tubs and Jacuzzis something for everyone. The salt water was perfect for me as I have a respitory problem so that was a great bonus even though its not advertised as such. The reception staff were really helpful and all the dining staff efficient and friendly. What more can I say, wonderful views if you pay for a sea view, large room , and what tickled me was there is a red carpet, probably the only time ill walk up one .

Stayed for three nights as part of a tour. All the staff I encountered were helpful and courteous. The location is very central and my room had a great view over the bay. Front rooms can be noisy but that's not unexpected given the location. The room was spacious but there were no drink making facilities and only a very low power hairdryer attached to the bathroom wall. I also found that the room safe is too small to hold a tablet or larger camera - which contrasted with what I found in other similarly rated Slovenian hotels. Hotel has free wi-fi but the connection is too erratic to be useful. In terms of food there was plenty of choice at breakfast although no cooked vegetables to go with other cooked items. I didn't see any fresh coffee but only service station type machines which was surprising for a four star hotel with so many international guests. Dinners again offered plenty of choice although at peak times it feels a bit like a canteen and can take a while to place a drinks order. All in all it does the job of providing a well located and comfortable place to stay but lacks some of the typical features guests expect from a 4*.

This hotel was somewhat disappointing. The room was shabby and the bed uncomfortable. The staff were very helpful, though. It's location is very good and is an ideal base for getting out and about in Portoroz. Steep charges for towels, etc when using the pool.
