Just a short walk to Marina Bay. This is the place to be in the evening. The room is small but the decoration and lightbox on the ceiling makes the room looks bigger. Beautifull job from the designer. The bed is very comfortable. Free minibar with nice snacks. The safe is in the la of the wardrobe. This is very handy. With the tablet you can control the tv, light and curtains. Very efficient. The staff is exceptional friendly. Tip: The chocolate you can buy next to the lobby is excellent ;) This is a very good hotel for a stopover. You can easy reach this hotel by MRT (stop Raffles place) and walk in 8 minutes to the hotel.

The location for this hotel is good, close to MRT, China Town 10 Min walk and Food market / Satay St out the door. (great) The staff are very friendly and that makes the place what it is. Rooms are small, bathrooms good however had abysmal lighting....wife very unhappy. The rooms are controlled by tablet, lights, entertainment, curtains, aircon etc all at the touch of a screen. Breakfast was great but only once in the 5 day stay was the hot selection actually hot. Roof top pool and bar area is compact and drink prices stupid, there was a pool party on Saturday so the area was out of bounds for the kids that day. We enjoyed our stay here but for what we paid I probably wouldn't stay again. It is a great hotel but seems aimed at a client that our family doesn't really fit into. Best for a couple with no kids as no rollaways avail making it even more compact. On reflection not the best choice for us.

Check in was swift and the welcome and attention we received was top notch. We stayed in the Heritage Wing. The room was spacious and tastefully decorated. All the functions were operated via an ipad. We had two large suitcases and there was plenty of room for them. There was a mini bar "cupboard" which was so much nicer than the usual small fridge. There toilet was in a separate room to the bath and shower room and there were quirky decorative features that added a wow factor. The bed was comfortable and the TV had a decent variety of channels and a good signal. The wi-fi was also good. The decorative light box above the bed was a special touch. Breakfast was a lovely experience with eggs made to order if you wanted them and there was an assortment of more local dishes on offer as well as all the other breakfast foods you get at quality hotels. My companion had a cough and a warm honey drink was specially prepared for them. Nothing was too much trouble and the staff were very friendly. The hotel is less than a five minute walk from the nearest metro station and on Friday's, there is a street food market in the adjoining street. This made for a great experience on our first night. A special mention to Paolo who looked after us so well at breakfast and Masili one of the porters who helped us to our room and settled us in.

Whilst I can appreciate that some people would like this style of hotel, I am unfortunately not one of them and would not stay here again. I found the overall image the hotel is aiming for to be somewhat pretentious and this can be summed up by the TV screens near the lifts, playing a continuous loop of bizarre footage of people who don't appear to be real playing around and thinking they are Hollywood celebrities. This aside, the basic rooms are small (I've stayed in larger hotel rooms in New York) and many don't look outside, rather they look out over the inside of the hotel. This creates the allusion of being boxed in with no natural light. My room had a slight leaking roof in the bathroom which generated a somewhat mouldy/damp smell. I never was asked how my stay was when I checked out so I didn't bother to mention it. I wasn't impressed with the pool area- it is small and not enough loungers. It also seems to play host to frequent parties (where the pretentious people from the video screens go?) so don't expect a quiet drink up there. There is a bar lounge area downstairs next to the restaurant but no one seems to serve you, so you have to go into the restaurant to ask for a drink to be brought to you. There are some positives to this hotel though. The staff are friendly, the location is good and the buffet breakfast was excellent, with a wide selection of food. For these reasons, I would not class the hotel as poor. When I consider the vast array of hotel options in Singapore, in the same price range, this hotel is way below standard. I'd rather a spacious room in a more traditional hotel with a window looking out over the city.

Staff very friendly and helpful. Could not fault. Restaurant meal very nice. Thanks to Paulo in the restaurant-lovely man, helpful, happy and friendly nature. Also special thanks to Elena at reception who always answered my many questions with patience, assistance, interest and a friendly smile.

The hotel is very well located. Very close to Marina Bay Sands, SkyPark, Chinatown etc. The service is excellent. This Staff is very attentive, kind and efficient. The Decoration of the hotel is nice ... Good gusto

This is a trendy hotel that is very central to everything (although everyone says that everything is central in Singapore). The rooms are small but very modern with everything controlled centrally from the iPad and iPhone provided in the room. Very nice bathrooms with top class amenities. The gym is nice and the pool area is ok although we didn’t use the pool during our stay. The staff are lovely throughout the whole hotel, from bar staff at the pool to the dining room. We got exceptional service from Paulo when we ate at the restaurant and also Arnel from the concierge team (who went over and above what you would expect in terms of service). My only advice is to try and not get a room near the hawker market. Our first room 246 (I think from memory) was right on top of the stalls. Whilst this was great to look at when we first got into the room we found it to be very noisy at night and in particularly with our little daughter. When we raised this at reception, they advised to have our bags ready and they would relocate us throughout the day, which was done with no hassle at all when we were out at the Zoo. We had a great experience at this hotel and if I’m in Singapore again I would definitely be happy in returning to the Sofitel So.

I was craving some chocolates at night and although all of the restaurants downstairs were closed I was given some excellent truffles by a very kind concierge/receptionist Lily. I will not forget the hospitality and it was a very nice surprise. Thanks Lily! It really made my stay here. Stanley

This was our first trip to Singapore, in early June, we stayed at So Sofitel on two separate ocassions, taking a side trip to Thailand in between. There are not enough words to explain how magnificent the whole team works together. In my opinion a hotel is just a hotel but what really makes a hotel memorable are the experiences you get from staying there. At So Sofitel Singapore the moment you walk through the door you are treated like a VIP. The guys handle the luggage for you and as you are checking-in hand you a refreshingly cold fruit punch in a test tube - a nice touch and very chic! These young guys are more than doormen/concierges/baggage handlers - they are more like family. They are SO friendly you couldn't help but feel you were at home. So to Andrew, Jeffrey, Asru and Michael we say thank you for being there to assist us throughout our stays - we appreciated your help and guideance. The hotel itself is charming, with designer touches throughout - very stylish. Breakfast and dinner were both delicious experiences, with Paulo leading the way - he is a great asset to the restaurant team. The reception ambassadors also went above and beyond to make sure we were completely happy. I must give mention to the lovely Helena who helped us settle in and managed an early check-in for us and Howard who was just delightful. The pool area was clean and tidy, the lovely towel lady kept coming to remove used towels. The roof top bar was a welcome relief from the heat, again great service from the lady with a beautiful smile! There are so many fantastic 'little touches' about this hotel - his and hers toiletries, fridge stocked with cold drinks(free), bottled water, iPad, So Sofitel perfume. We would not hesitate to stay here next time we are in Singapore, in fact I would insist on it! Thank you So Sofitel Singapore, well done.
