As always Sofitel staff are remarkable for their cheerfulness, helpfulness and willingness to please. The hotel though is a bit tired and in need of refurbishing. The drains in our bathroom were very noisy. The breakfasts were brilliant and the range of Asian and Western food available was excellent. The big let down, especially for a French hotel was that eggs at breakfast were poorly cooked. Over a 4 day period scrambled eggs were watery, the omelette was heavy and stodgy and the eggs hollandaise was poorly poached. Baguettes at 10 paces should be the consequence I think! The music played loudly at the pool bar was of the relentless head banging variety. Great if you are under 25, but no one was. We both thought that the bed was a bit on the hard side which was a surprise for a Sofitel. Overall we enjoyed our stay but next time I think we may stay at the Sofitel City Centre even though the location is not so good.
Stayed here in November 2017 with my husband whilst he was on a business trip. The hotel is in a great location and the staff are super friendly and helpful. Our room on the 4th floor was really comfortable and luxurious. It had every amenity we required and a lot of the extras ( like soft drinks, snacks and coffee) were were all inclusive. There were only a couple of things which could have been better. We arrived late and after we had settled in we wanted to go for a drink. We asked for directions and were told to go to the 6th floor. Unfortunately when we got there the bar was closed for a private party. The bar staff directed us to the restaurant where we could have a drink instead. Unfortunately when we got there the restaurant was closed and we were asked to sit in a corridor to have a drink. This was disappointing and not at all welcoming. Breakfast the following morning was ok but our coffee didn’t arrive. I eventually chased after half an hour and was brought a black coffee despite ordering a cappuccino. Asked for milk as it wasn’t on the table .. still waiting. Only little things but I felt they tarnished our experience a bit. Great room, service a little lacking.
I stayed at So Sofitel Hotel for 7 days for business trip. The hotel is very stylish with European style. Very new and clean. The staffs are friendly. The breakfast is good. I will stay there again in our next trip.
I had a really wonderful stay at the So! Singapore! All staff were exceptionally friendly and helpful. The room 'So Cosy' was also really great and well appointed. Everything was controlled via the in room Ipad, the lights, curtains, TV, excetera. Nice gym facilities and a lovely pool and bar area also (although I couldn't enjoy due to the rain. The hotel is in a wonderful location, 5 minutes walk to Raffles MRT station and literally 10 steps to the amazing local food market, Lau Pa Sat. I look forward returning again for a thoroughly enjoyable experience.
My wife and I stayed at this hotel and loved the central location to the city. Right next door is the Hawkers markets for a great cheap eat and it’s proximity to all the major tourist spots makes it a great place to stay. The rooms were very nice and clean and the facilities were great. The only downside would have to be the breakfasts with a lack of choice and Luke warm food on some mornings. Apart from that it was a great place to stay and I would definitely consider staying there on another trip.
Have stayed here a few times. Rooms are tasteful and the beds are comfy. Great linen. French designer influence is obvious. Room windows are small which spoils it a bit. Really good hotel. would come back.
This really is a beautiful hotel and we really enjoyed our stay. The balcony room was very spacious with very high ceilings and a fantastic bathroom. Their is a huge food court right across the road which was very convenient and the food that we did eat at the hotel was amazing. The staff were wonderful, always helpful and happy. My only problem was where it was situated, I guess I thought we would be a bit closer to shopping where as it was more in the middle of the business district so we still had to get a taxi to go out and I was looking forward to just being able to walk around, shop, eat and shop some more. I wouldn't have any trouble recommending the hotel at all but like people to be informed about it not being in a shopping area just in case that is what they are looking for.
Due to days off work and public holidays, we were able to spend an extra long weekend in Singapore. With my husbands accor membership, we decided to book our stay at So Sofitel. I am so glad we did. Firstly, arriving in the middle of the night due to timings of our flight from Melbourne, the staff had our room ready and quickly checked us in so that we could get some much needed sleep. Breakfast was included in our package, and the choice was extensive and delicious. Every member of staff that we passed would always say hello, and would offer assistance willingly. Our room, the So Lofty, was wonderful. The included amenities, the comfort, the beautiful, spacious bathroom and the iPad to control everything made for a very comfortable stay. The hotel is opposite La Pau Sat, a hawkers market with an amazing array of food available. We enjoyed dinner there a couple of times, and I discovered a new favourite non-alcoholic drink; freshly squeezed sugar cane. Delicious. Of all the wonderful service we received though, the best was probably on our last evening in Singapore. We had spent the day shopping and checking out famous sites, when we wandered back to the hotel 2 hours before our transport was arriving to take us to Changi airport. When we told the concierge that we were very early, but were fine with just relaxing while we waited, he asked if we would like him to organise a hospitality room son that we could freshen up before leaving. This kind and thoughtful gesture made our day. We were able to shower anfreshen up before our long flight home. It made our day. Thank you to EVERY member of staff at So Sofitel Singapore for making our stay wonderful.
Lovely week long stay at this gem of a hotel. All the staff were fantastic but I’d like to give a special shout out to Sally who both welcomed and farewelled us from the hotel and showed professionalism mellowed with genuine warmth! The hotel is walking distance to MRT and buses and Chinatown. Rooms are clean and quirkily decorated! Will definitely return!
if you travel to Singapore for 2 nights this is the best hotel to stay. High level of food at breakfast. But I would love to come back for amazing interior design of the room. Amenities for her and for him that was really nice add to our stay.
