I stayed for three nights recently and I'd recommend this lovely, friendly hotel to anyone. What really sets it apart is it's wonderful staff. There was nothing they couldn't do for us- ordering taxis, pointing out places of interest, advice on what to do, they just take such a personal interest in their guests. They even sent their driver to tbe airoort to deliver an item my friend forgot. Wonderful service, as good as you'll get. The hotel itself is spotless and perfectly comfortable. The rooms are small and sound does carry from room to room, but it is very homely and comfortable. Tea, toast and cereal is provided complimentary every morning and it is only a 5 minute walk to the MRT. Chinatown is on the doorstep and the Buddha Tooth museum is about 5 minutes walk. The hop on hop off sightseeing bus stops around the corner. A really good option in Singapore, I'd stay here again anytime.
Pretty damned dog box like, again photos that are done very well to mislead. Staff were pretty good though! Location is pretty good for getting from airport to hotel via the train. Food wise, quite limited really unless your wanting to experience the food market.
The staffs were friendly and very accommodating. Many thanks to Ms Ammeline Wang for being very helpful and pleasant during our trip. Kudos to her and the staffs. Location was great as it was a walking distance to the chinatown hub. Overall was a pleasant satisfied stay.
The rooms are clean and the staff very friendly and helpful. Especially Amelie was so professional and customer orientated. Very close to China town and MRT. Highly recommended place to stay in Singapore!!!
In an old building very close to the Chinatown Complex, Cultural Centre, and MRT. Lots of restaurants and bars nearby. The rooms are clean and straightforward and the staff very friendly and helpful. Recommended.
Stayed here for 4 nights at the end of Feb. Great location, 5 minute walk from the MRT station which can literally take you anywhere in Singapore! Room was on the slightly smaller side, but it wasn't an issue. Staff were super friendly and welcoming. Free WiFi was available which was really handy. Would stay again.
I booked this hotel for one night after a cruise ship vacation. The hotel was as advertised. The room was small, simple, clean, and inexpensive, in a good location right in the heart of Chinatown. Staff was efficient. The bathroom was spare--one very small shelf for toiletries, and a "full room" shower with curtain but without a lip, meaning that the water did go everywhere. I used a towel to mop it up. Typical of budget accommodations, there was one armoire with a fair number of removable plastic hangers and a TV with a very small number of channels. My only complaint was the bed, which was rock hard. If you can take that, or even like it, then this hotel is for you. Were it not for that one problem, I would book the hotel again.
This hotel is perfectly located, close to Chinatown, Bar Street and the Subway system. Accommodation is pricey in Singapore so this is a very fairly priced place. The rooms are quite small and it isn't a luxury hotel by any means however, you're not going to be in your room much in Singapore anyway. Air con worked well, rooms were clean, if a little old fashioned. The staff were very helpful and friendly. Great choice for those on a budget who want to be close to all the main sights.
Bigger than most budget rooms here and not a "by the hour" hotel. We were on the first floor, stayed three nights after spending one at the place down the street. The room and bathroom were very clean and comfortable as were the bedding and towels. The staff was excellent, very helpful. They loaned us adapters so we could plug in our electronics, were very knowledgeable about the area and provided clear directions to where we wanted to go. Google map doesn't work well here and says everything is further away than it is, better to ask at reception. Tea, coffee, cereal and toast are provided in the lobby in the morning. Wifi is excellent. Maxwell Food center is very close by, good eats and much less expensive than Chinatown Food Street.
We came to Singapore back in September last year for 2 nights, but our initial thought was finding a centrally located hotel for good value and we felt this was achieved with the Chinatown Hotel. A bit of research was done prior to our visit, and resulted in many expensive hotels that we didn't feel neccesary especially for only 2 nts. Breakfast was included in the price, but it was nothing to rave home about. Tea, coffee and old toast was all what was on offer, but there are many eateries that surround the hotel if you want proper brekkie, lunch or dinner. Rooms were tiny and had minimal space to unload a suitcase, and the bathroom was big enough to have only 1 person at a time. At least the a/c worked fine. Chinatown is a 5 minute walk which engages you into more restaurants and souvenir shops/stalls. The rail stations are either side of the hotel and about a 8 minute walk in each direction. Many clubs and bars are nearby, and go on till the early hours but this didn't interrupt our sleep. Buddha Tooth temple is only a 5 minute walk away. We felt very safe walking around at night time, and after all this hotel really just served as basic accommodation in order for us to enjoy the rest of Singapore during our stay. If you want luxury then don't stay here. But if you want location and price then fill your boots...
