It's true the rooms are quite small, but what do you expect for that price in singapore? Centrally located in chinatown close to resturants, markets and transport. Not ideal for new couples as there is not much privacy in the bathroom if you know what I mean...there are basic breakfast facilities set up in the foyer each morning (including drinking water fountain). Simple but pleasant.
I stayed here for three nights last week. The rooms are very tiny and the bathroom does not have a separate shower. However, I thought that location was great--walking distance to a lot of attractions, plus the MRT stop is close by so it is easy to get to other areas and to the airport. I would stay here again.
Most of the room was relatively clean and nice. The bathroom door frame had extensive mold stains, however. The toilet was also not separated from the shower (the shared the same room). The walls were quite thin (I could hear the TV in the next room quite loudly). The room was also small. Overall, I'd be happy with these conditions if this place was half the price; but for their price these conditions were not great.
We stayed 3 nights at the Chinatown Hotel, and it was a good experience to have. We didn't have windows in our room and it wasn't the most beautiful room but we were expecting this for the price we paid. The wifi was working well, and they propose a breakfast if you want one. This hotel has a great location in Chinatown and is easy to go and visit around. There are a lot of restaurants and bars close to it. There are as well a lots of things to visit around (temple, park, nice streets) The staff was really friendly and helpful, during our stay happened the birthday of my boyfriend and they wished him directly when they saw him. When you don't want to spend too much money on your room because you just want to visit it is a really nice hotel to stay!
We chose this hotel because of its location and it's a good enough hotel for a short stay. The rooms are quite small as mentioned by other reviewers but hotels can be really expensive in Singapore so it was good value for money. We arrived there four hours before the standard check in time and had to pay extra for an early check-in. There is also the world's cheapest Michelin star restaurant in Chinatown that you can try. Just keep in mind that the rooms are really small and make sure you are staying close to the areas you want to explore and you will be satisfied with this hotel.
I stayed for three nights recently and I'd recommend this lovely, friendly hotel to anyone. What really sets it apart is it's wonderful staff. There was nothing they couldn't do for us- ordering taxis, pointing out places of interest, advice on what to do, they just take such a personal interest in their guests. They even sent their driver to tbe airoort to deliver an item my friend forgot. Wonderful service, as good as you'll get. The hotel itself is spotless and perfectly comfortable. The rooms are small and sound does carry from room to room, but it is very homely and comfortable. Tea, toast and cereal is provided complimentary every morning and it is only a 5 minute walk to the MRT. Chinatown is on the doorstep and the Buddha Tooth museum is about 5 minutes walk. The hop on hop off sightseeing bus stops around the corner. A really good option in Singapore, I'd stay here again anytime.
Pretty damned dog box like, again photos that are done very well to mislead. Staff were pretty good though! Location is pretty good for getting from airport to hotel via the train. Food wise, quite limited really unless your wanting to experience the food market.
The staffs were friendly and very accommodating. Many thanks to Ms Ammeline Wang for being very helpful and pleasant during our trip. Kudos to her and the staffs. Location was great as it was a walking distance to the chinatown hub. Overall was a pleasant satisfied stay.
The rooms are clean and the staff very friendly and helpful. Especially Amelie was so professional and customer orientated. Very close to China town and MRT. Highly recommended place to stay in Singapore!!!
In an old building very close to the Chinatown Complex, Cultural Centre, and MRT. Lots of restaurants and bars nearby. The rooms are clean and straightforward and the staff very friendly and helpful. Recommended.
