Surestay Hotel by Best Western San Jose Airport

Room was dirty. Heavy stains on carpet, walls chipped, dirty overall. Fights in parking lot at 11:44 p.m. and another one after 1 a.m. Very unsafe feeling. Overall, horrible experience!

Privacy quite rooms were perfect size staff very helpful

Noisy maintenance guy working in the morning stains on the sheets ... not a good place.

When i looked at this hotel on the Orbitz site it only showed a photo of the office from the street. It looked ok. The outside of the facility looked like it might be getting a much needed freshening up. Many construction crews hanging out in the parking lot. Decided to check out the room anyway and found a much better situation. The room had been updated and was clean. I stayed in my room only while i was at the property.

Convenient to SJC if your traveling early. Room was fine as this is an older motel style.

We had no hot water and the refrigerator didn't work. Wish we could get a rebate or bill reduction.

Close to the airport but the room was a bit shabby and dirty. Decent continental breakfast.

Outdated hotel with limited amenities. Front desk agent was friendly at check in. Breakfast was minimal: coffee machine and pre-packed pastries to grab on the go. Dennys up front had their kitchen broken down when we were there so had to drive a bit to find places to eat but luckily there are a few dining choices down the block. The rooms are very outdated in 70's decor, including a TV hutch without a TV bc they upgraded to flat screens. The pool was tiny and didn't look too inviting. Had to walk upstairs to reach our room in the way back, on the plus side, it was quiet but no wifi so had to tap in next door to the Comfort Suites for better connection. The rooms are spacious with updated a/c, bed was comfy but sheets was awful thin polyester fabric that was itchy, toiletries came in a plastic bag (think ketchup at McDs), but I didn't mind since I just needed a place to sleep since I was out early in the morning to late night for work. But what bothered me is that they do not provide daily housekeeping! I had to go down to the front desk in the middle of the night to get fresh towels...

at 3:30am, a man knocked my door and asked to open the door.

This would have been a decent $50 hotel; but the shower didn't work properly and the tub plug wouldnt work so not getting a good shower was a bummer. Also some fixtures were broken. Also asked for a late checkout and they refused that--never have had that happen before. Nikesh was awesome at checkin and very nice guy--very cordial and accomodating. No one was rude, but no late checkout?

My stay was good,but i had a a very riough nite my fahter is dying of cancer did not sleep much woke up late for check out left at 1156am when returning the nexrt day to stay again I was put on a no rent to list. I know i wa 56 miutes late checking out but it wasnt like i was nosiey or had party I was just exhausted from being with my father that whole day and night. I have styaed at 5 star resorts and they give you a hour late check out.... I wil not stay at this location again... I love Vagabond Sunnyvale the staff the location the rooms.

Quiet i was able to rest. Wish I had a lower level room I have a bad back and the stairs and carrying luggage was not good. Next time I will make a note at the time of reservations.

I am not an experienced traveler, so that should be taken into consideration. My biggest problem was the rather large string of black hair on one of the pillows on the queen size bed....Being by myself, it was only a matter of sleeping with the other pillow but....The window box heater and air, (used the heater) was rather noisy, and had a loud vibration. But, the people, or rather person that I talked to on check in was nice, and helpful....

Having spent several nights at other hotels in the area, I was more than pleasantly surprised by the accommodation at the Vagabond Inn. The rooms were very clean and the furniture, while worn, was perfectly serviceable. In addition it was full of those small extra amenities that make a hotel just a little bit better at the end of the day. The staff I spoke too was pleasant and helpful and made an effort to go the extra mile me. The location, while close to the airport, is right on a busy junction of streets making travel from the hotel to other parts of San Jose slower than I would have liked. In addition the wifi internet signal was spotty though I was given a room at the farthest end of the hotel. In summary, the Inn is best suited to a traveler or business person. It provided me a clean, quiet, and moderately priced room for me to sleep in at a better price than I expected.

Must have been a busy week because this was one of the few places with availability left on short notice for under $100. Actually paid less for a much nicer hotel one week earlier. Had to pay an additional $10 to change my room to non-smoking, despite originally requesting that upon purchase. Come to find out it would have cost me almost $30 less to walk up and book it! Glass half full- got some sleep and was able to take a hot shower.

Beds were uncomfortable, sink pipes leaked, bathtub faucet dripped,sunlight through bathroom window was painfully bright, drapes had burns, etc. etc. Was not a good stay. The staff was very nice, but this property needs a serious overhaul!

This is a very old and run down motel. Things in the room were broken (light fixture) or had burns (drapes). The sink pipes leaked and the bath tub faucet dripped. There was a refrigerator in the room, but not enough electrical outlets, so they strung a too-short outlet strip between the fridge and the wall outlet, and after everything was plugged into it, the strip was hanging in mid-air. The beds were hard. The morning sun blazed through the bathroom window so brightly it caused us pain to take a shower--those windows should have some kind of covering available. Nothing to recommend here other than the friendly staff at the front desk.
