The Westin San Jose

4.0 out of 5.0

Recent guest reviews

I stayed 1 night at this hotel. I had very high expectations, which weren't met. The room itself was pretty small. It was a king bed room. The bathroom was small as well. The bed and bedding were very comfortable. The window was an old wooden window, which did not filter out the outside noise. I was on the 5th floor and I could still hear everything from outside. The a/c was extremely loud every time it turned on. The desk was very useful.

The hotel and most especially the valet staff were amazing! They were very accommodating. We checked out and they allowed us to leave our car for a few additional hours at no charge!

hotel guest elevator was making strange sound on start up. Need repair. The double bed in the room is short, did not fit my 5'8" body. Room is small, if I have 2 luggage, there is no place for the 2nd luggage. I can't turn around if I place it on the floor. The bathroom is small also. Very small area for my toilet set, I was worrying my shaver would fall in the toilet. Not worth the money.

Stayed at the hotel for 1 night. Nice location, and I had what I needed. I would recommend the hotel.

Westin has done a nice job converting this classic hotel. Service was what you'd expect from a Westin, rooms were clean, hotel is within walking distance of all of downtown San Jose.

We had the mini suite with two large flat panel TVs etc. Lots of space to stay organized. Furnishings were new and the bed was very comfortable. Large spacious bath with lots of counter space. Down side is that it was $350 per night but that was a convention rate. We stayed an extra day at $160.

I have always wanted to stay at the Westin and was given the chance to do so on this trip. The location is right in the heart of downtown SJ. This specific hotel is on the National Historic list and you can tell once you walk in that it is. Everything about the hotel is historic and beautiful. Upon getting into the room however, the hallway felt a bit claustrophobic and there was barely enough room to put our luggage away. The closet however was weirdly deep. The room itself is very beautiful and the shower/bath was pristine. I would stay here again but only if the price is good as I don't believe that the price I paid reflected the room I got.

I loved the location of this hotel. The staff was very friendly and helpful. I didn't like that there was only valet parking available and the hotel is right on the corner so it made parking in front a little tricky.

Awesome, great location, beautiful hotel & staff was good. Will recommend to family & friends.

The hotel exceeded our expectations in every way. Central to SAP center.

Beautiful hotel but more towards the outskirts of the main business district.

Loved this hotel. Location fantastic, rooms very nice and lovely shower!!

This hotel was conveniently located in downtown San Jose. Very friendly staff and very clean. I had a comfortable stay. I recommend. Thanks!

Great central location in downtown San Jose. Room was smaller than expected, however the hotel overall is gorgeous and staff were nice.

Everything is great. It is at downtown San Jose very near to California Theater and the Art Museum. The room is spacious and the bed is comfortable. Except that the wall is too thin. I heard two men talking excitedly for at least two hours in the night. They sound so near as if there is no wall at all.

WThe st claire hotel is beautiful! The location was perfect for us to walk to the venue to see Wicked. The staff at the hotel was amazing. The rooms are newly renovated and lovely, the shower was the bomb!

Bathroom was very small, the carpets in the stairs and in the hallway smelled. The valets were so accomodating, front desk staff knowledgeable about the area. All staff members were smiles and very attentive.

A pre-occupied and ungracious staff. An unclean room, water standing in the tub after a shower and no prompt response to dealing with it until the second day and no offer to find another functioning room was outrageous. Wallpaper was peeling and furniture damaged. Water was five dollars a bottle. A sub-professional establishment. If I had not prepaid I would have left. It needs to be refurbished but charging over 225 a night discounted is an outrage.

My boyfriend and I travel from San Francisco to San Jose often to enjoy it's wonderful nightlife and comedy shows. We always stay downtown and decided to try this hotel this last weekend. The front desk clerk gave us a complimentary upgrade on our room, valet staff was extremely nice and prompt in getting our vehicle. The inside of the hotel is beautiful, the room very clean and quiet even though we had a view of the street below. Our whole experience was lovely and smooth.

I have stayed at this hotel a couple times in the past few months, and have been overall satisfied each time. We stayed for a casual night out in town, and absolutely loved it's location relative to the rest of town. The staff has always been friendly, and the available amenities are excellent. WE have also ordered room service from Il Fornaio, and the food never ceases to amaze me. During our most recent stay, we were placed in one of the newly renovated rooms, and it was quite nice! Would definitely recommend!
