Hotels in the area or overpriced during the week, several that I have stayed at have raised their prices while the quality of the rooms have gone down. I was apprehensive in booking this room for myself and 3 co-workers, however each of them said it was the nicest Super 8 they have stayed at. The rooms have been remodeled and there are only a few old things left in the room like the phone, ac and bathtub. The bed was firm, but not overly hard. The sheets and towels were clean and new. There were hundreds of TV channels, fridge worked well, sink was nice and I was plenty warm with the heater. I'll be booking this hotel again when I come to Mountain View. The location was minutes from the job site.
The hotel is clean, a great location and a bargain in this area. It is not a downtown 4 star hotel but it is a very suitable hotel for an overnight in the area.

The Super 8 Motel in Mountain View, California is in a good location near the CVS Drugstore, Starbucks, Walgreens, and a Domino's Pizza. The rooms are clean. There is a small complete breakfast with waffles, wheat and white toast, yogurt, orange juice, coffee, cereal, coffee, and green tea. The noise can get bad at some rooms with your ears ringing, but it is a safe hotel, and it is good for the price. Wi-fi is free, and the beds are hard and brand new.
I like the location of this motel. It is actually quieter than other ones in Silicon Valley. The rooms are the cleanest I have seen, with new, hard mattresses on the beds (I have a problem with soft, springy, mattresses older than I am.) The staff is courteous, and there's a free breakfast, wifi, and also, they are nice at the office, though they are quiet and dignified, so you shouldn't take it the wrong way, probably overworked and super conscientious. The TV works well, and the rooms are heated, and the wifi is a little slow, but what do you expect? At least the rooms don't rattle like they do at the Sheraton and other finer hotels near Palo Alto. The value is unbeatable, I got the rooms for over US$100 and my Father likes this motel very much, and he's a uncompromised international businessman. Anyway, I give this place an A- for value. The front room staff is not sleazy like at some other places, and they protect a woman's safety. Some of the residents are a little weird, but they so far aren't into stalking females.
I've been staying at several places in Silicon Valley, and the Super 8 Motel in Mountain View, California has nice beds, is relatively quiet, has free wi-fi and a free, decent breakfast. It is a great value, less than US$150 for a night's stay. I like the staff, even though the guy is silent, but efficient, and hardworking. I am staying for the third time, soon.
When we unlocked the door we were hit with the reeking odor thst motels use to kill "bad" odors. The carpet was old and worn out! There was a desk/ chair, a wooden table about the size of a card table with two chairs and an end table on each side of the bed. All of this furniture looked like it came from the Salvation Army. The towels were thread bare and the bed blanket had a number of holes in it.
Although this is a clean hotel with a comfortable bed and no bed bug tracks on the mattress, I ended up in a lower room with the person in the room upstairs marching across the floor every five minutes from 11:00 to 3:00 a.m. I am not sure what they were doing. In fairness I did not call the manager but it was because people were not talking too loud or the TV was blaring, they were simply moving, which I expected to stop at any minute. All of the lower prices hotels/ motels with not much soundproofing between floors and rooms have the same problem if you are unlucky enough to have the room next to the person who is up and moving all night.
Visited Mountain View for business and stayed in Super 8 for one night. Decent place for one night, but I wouldn't suggest it for longer. All drains were partially clogged, makes the shower experience not that fun! It's quiet, kind of clean and not far from restaurants.
Staff need a personality. No smiles or gestures of communication. All business.
