Comfort Inn And Suites0.0 out of 5.0

We love Comfort Inn & Suites but this ranks at the bottom of the heap. Among the negatives were wall paper falling off the wall in the work out room, the water machine was so calcified no water came out, the heater didn't work properly in the room we were rented, the overall appearance beyond the reception room was tired and shabby. The place needs to close to and be wholly remodeled. Without ending on a negative note, the breakfast was nice.
History of how we ended up at Comfort Inn: We had used booking.com to make reservations for a group of us, 5 rooms were needed, originally at the Rodeway Inn there in Sierra Vista. We had our confirmation email...That was correct. Our group got to the hotel and much to our dismay the reservation that came to the Rodeway Inn was for one room for 11 people. The young lady that was working, Dottie, called her manager, Marvin Kouza, to help with the situation because they didn't have the number of rooms available to accommodate our group. Mr. Kouza drove in from his home to assist. They bent over backwards to find us rooms at another hotel. After calling their sister hotels in town for assistance they were finally able to secure the 5 rooms we needed at Comfort Inn Suites at no increased charge to our group. The young man, Jerry, that checked our group in was fantastic! He made checking in enjoyable for 10 tired and hungry people. He had no problem assisting a sister hotel in their time of need unlike one of the other sister hotels, Quality Inn. Rooms were great!!! THANK YOU JERRY!!! No complaints at all!!
We have been staying here one or two times a year , depending what even is going on at the park. We only live 36 miles away, but when we come to the city, LOL, we always stay here. 1st, its walking distance to the park with carnivals,4th of july event, vets day etc. Perfect spot. 2nd, always very clean quiet comfortable rooms,3rd, the staff is great, especially Asst. GM Nicole , always pleasant , and remembers us, treats us like family. It never seems crowded, good for us, bad for business, maybe?. We always enjoy the COLD pool, LOl and hot tub, never an issue here, great place to watch the fireworks, only place we stay when we want a getaway, hang out drink beer, its all within walking,,,,thanks Nicole, and staff,,, we will see you again...
Our room was clean and certainly had the basics. Breakfast was very good. We really enjoyed the hot tub. You just don't find them at hotels anymore. As a Choice Privileges member I was a little disappointed in the letter to me on the table in the room. It is customary at most chains to welcome frequent stayers with an acknowledgement of their membership and level etc. Mine came in the form of a form letter that had been copied many times over. It avoids the necessity of training the front desk folks to reliably and graciously acknowledging your membership-in person. A form letter takes away the personal touch. On top of it, the letter was signed by the Assistant General Manager. No disrespect intended to the person or her role, at least have the courtesy to have the GM sign it. Also, neither of our keycards worked when returning to the back door. Had to walk around front, stand at the front desk where nobody was in attendance for about 5 minutes. I was just taking out my phone to call and see if somebody would answer. The person who finally came out gave me an accusatory 101 on what kinds of things (certainly nothing done by them) that would make that happen. Blame it on the customer never is popular. There's more detail but I'm already in for 1200+ characters. Stay here because it is a decent value, but some people things can fall down. Did I mention the loud banging upstairs? Didn't call because didn't anticipate a positive response.
We planned to stay at this property for work throughout summer and fall 2017. Upon check-in the first afternoon, we realized our alarm clock did not work, but we could have it replaced that evening. So, we requested a wake-up call and, of course, that wake-up call never came as promised. So, I was late to work on my very first day and that set the tone for my entire experience with this property. We secured other accommodations for the remainder of our time in Sierra Vista. The room was clean and in fair repair (with the obvious exception of the alarm clock). The "breakfast" was mediocre. Staff was pleasant, but clearly not competent in their duties.
Better than other options in the area. Clean. No major issues. Air conditioning worked really well. The shower got hot wuth, great water pressure. Has a dingy hotel smell but otherwise everything was fine.
Clean, well equipped hotel. Easy to find in a clean, modern city. Staff was well versed in features, etc. However, we would have liked the evening staff to limit the running up and down the hall that was being done by a young music group booked into the hotel. When we contacted the front desk, we were advised that the 'kids' had been allowed to be 'out' until 10pm. After a long day on the road 10pm is too late!!
I stayed for about 2 weeks in January and my hours varied due to work, and the front desk staff of; Anissa, Rachel, Selena, Tasheena, Gabi, Kayla, Ross, and Tim all did their best to accommodate us for breakfast, even though it was outside the normal operating hours. They also helped us with local things to do, allowed us to receive packages, and really helped us in any regards. If you have a choice in where to stay when you visit sierra vista, this should be the place. I can't express how grateful I am for all their help.
Great stay, Friendly staff and hotel Management. I stay at this hotel every 2 months. Many places to eat nearby, Park is across the street. Parking lot needs to be re-paved by this is not an issue. The female hotel manager is the best. I have left items behind when checking out and she held them fo even 2 months. Great hotel.
Stayed long enough in this hotel to get an eyeful of this underutilized, wasted property. Desk staff is seldom at station. Breakfast is standard mediocre fare. Cleaning staff is unsupervised and is allowing this property to slowly begin its road to destruction. Shamefully this hotel regularly operates at only 15-20% of capacity. Whoever owns this hotel knows nothing about salesmanship or marketing and is obviously losing their shirt, perhaps rightfully so.
