We booked our wowcher for our honeymoon after being told how lovely it was through a friend. Check in was ok. Not over friendly, but ok. Best way to describe it. Our room was lovely and clean. It was good value for money. Only wish was there had been a chest of drawers. Our fridge in our room was also broken with water on the carpet. Though for the price we go it for, it was a good deal still. We went for our massage and the actual massage only lasted ten minutes (I timed it after reading reviews on here). I waited 5 minutes for the lady to come back into the room (my partner also waited ages) and we also waited around for a while after filling out the form. The ten minutes I did have were amazing and helped with the stress in my shoulder. The dinner was amazing!!! Though, my husband can't eat pork but everything had pork in except the veggie option (and he hates mushrooms!). It would have been nice to have two meals for vegetarians on the set menu. We asked the hotel to changed one of the meals to not include pork in the sauce, which they did, and my husband loved the fish. We had a main and pudding and they were delicious! I recommend the cheesecake! The waiting staff were really friendly. The drinks were very overpriced. £9 for a wine spritzer. Breakfast was great. Great value for money and lots of choices. We stayed two nights and the second day used the spa. It's very basic but good value for what you pay for. The hotel is ten minute drive to Shrewsbury so it's a good location. It had lots of parking spaces. The grounds are lovely for going on a walk.

The hotel was good, and the staff were friendly and professional. Breakfast good value for money. Lovely building, in a beautiful setting. The spa pool area are due to be updated, it is adequate now, though an update will improve the venue. I liked the ice room, did not like the scented room. All other facilities were good. A bigger pool would be great but I accept this may be s big ask. Three things we would like to bring your attention. 1. The paving slabs on the main entrance walkway are loose and dangerous. 2. The car park is poorly lit, 3. The entrances to the car park are very small and difficult to manoeuvre

Have to say that we had a great break but what really made it was the inspiring Amanda who manages the gym & spa. Pointed us the the right direction for great walks & we really enjoyed using the spa. Would come again definitely.

Our first Wowcher weekend away .... hotel was very clean, staff were friendly and helpful. Spa staff lovely - even squeezed me in when I was late. Breakfast was good, plenty to help yourself to so you would not be hungry! Dinner was good, bit unclear on what was included in the Wowcher deal would be my only comment. Room was comfortable, very warm but not a problem as window opened! Bathroom spotless with nice toiletries. The hotel is an old country house, it is decorated as such and some areas are not brand spanking new but it is clean and a fab place with lovely gardens to escape to.

My partner and I stayed here last week after booking through Secret Escapes. The hotel is set on a beautiful country estate and we had a bedroom which overlooked the garden. I can honestly say every member of staff was polite and courteous during our stay this also includes the staff in the Leisure Club. The food was tasty and fresh. The hotel was great value for money and I would highly recommend a stay here.

My wife and I got treated to afternoon tea by a friend as an anniversary present. The choice of locations was interesting as our county was not featured. So we took a trip over to Shrewsbury and tried the Albrighton Hall. Well it was a nice setting. We were taken to a lovely drawing room for our treat. That was a great place to sit and enjoy our tea. The choice was nice and delivered very nicely. Unfortunately the couple next to us had a bit more of a disappointing experience with a complete mix up on the order and stuff coming out initially in the wrong order etc. The only down side to ours was that the room was a tad cold which meant that we left pretty quick after finishing our tea instead of relaxing. But overall, good afternoon.

Beautiful grounds around this lovely hotel that afford super walks around a large lake. Restaurant is set in a superb room, food was excellent and very friendly staff. Clean comfortable bedroom with good en suite.

Staff - great start with a warm friendly and technically savvy reception (trouble with wifi - fixed) lovely bar & restaurant folks - all so smiley, to a really engaging housekeeping lady who seemed genuinely interested in whether we had a great break - they were all lovely and a credit to themselves and the hotel. Room- super much larger than usual, great TV, big bathroom - clean, plenty of towels and a bath that filled in seconds, the bed was massive - we have a king at home and it was much larger, my wife slept better than she has for an age. SPA - we were told it is due for a refurb later this month - it was lovely as it is, steam, sauna, ice room, pool and gym all clean and well maintained - we didn't try the treatments. Restaurant/Food - Lovely room with a real air of class & luxury. We had a 3 course set menu as part of a secret escape deal. 4 choices of each course. We had a prawn & crayfish salad, generous and fresh portion (one negative - served on a roof tile - no need!) and a vegetable soup which was truly delicious. Mains, we both went for beef bourguignon, lovely sauce and good amount of tender beef accompanied by a creamy mash potato and al-dente broccoli. Dessert was a Creme brûlée and cheeseboard - both excellent. A bottle of the house red - lovely meal. Breakfast - tea/coffee served to table, poached scrambled eggs to order then self service. Great selection of juices, cereals, fresh fruit, cheese/cold meats, breads/toasts and a buffet English Breakfast - quality bacon & sausage and bright yellow yoked fried eggs - usual fresh mushroom, tomato & baked beans - first class. Overall - we were delighted with our stay, the hotel is a beautiful building set in lovely grounds and great place to stay when visiting Shrewsbury - 10 minutes away and a real gem of a destination. I hope we come back again in the future.

We last stayed here in 2013, has been spruced up a little since then. Reception staff were friendly and helpful. Room had a lovely view of the garden was spacious and had all the usual amenities. Spa was perfect at the end of a day sight seeing, nice pool, jacuzzi, sauna etc. dinner was lovely, waiting staff and chef really helpful addressing food allergies. Breakfast all the usual selections, they have a hot buffet table in an awkward position which creates a queue. Only issue was the noise of other hotel guests after a function on the Saturday night, banging doors and shouting in the corridors. Despite that would happi,y return, a lovely hotel close to Shrewsbury great base for the many tourist attractions.

I arranged my daughter & son-in-laws First Wedding Anniversary at this hotel. They had got married in Dubai the previous year, so this celebration was for those who couldn't make the Wedding celebration. The events manager was very helpful in advising me & helping to arrange this special day. The timings, the details of the dedication ceremony, the choice of foods and arranging Halal meat for the meal. We were promised that her deputy would be on hand to guide through the day. Unfortunately our programme was running late due to important guests getting lost! I found myself dashing up & down the corridors to facilitate late arrivals to check in & get to the ceremony! Our guests seemed to have enjoyed the meal, the service was good. There was a delay in people trying to leave the dining room as the staff needed to set it up for the entertainment. Our guests got stuck in the corridor! It would have been helpful if the events organiser had been with us to address the problem. I was not told that the bar in the events room was open. It was not very comfortable sharing the public bar. Fortunately our guests seemed to enjoy the day and the evening entertaiment.
