The staff was rude. They argued with me about my service dogs. Than gave me the wrong room and didnt offer any compensation for it. No elevator.
Dirty, bugs everywhere, run down, and just terrible
Beds were ok and the room was clean the shower had hot water
Lobby area was undergoing extensive renovations, something I had not seen listed when booking. As a result, the breakfast that was supposedly offered per the listing was not available. Beyond that, the person who checked me in didn't seem terribly enthusiastic (and can't really blame him, but when you work in a customer - facing role you should at least have a facade of friendliness. No such issues with the person I interacted with to check out, who was nicely chipper. Room itself was nice and spacious, working air, and comfortable bed. Some scuffs/dings on walls but otherwise appeared clean. Plugs I used worked properly and were conveniently positioned for my needs, had no issues using the wifi either. Towels/soap/shampoo were already in the room as was a coffeemaker and coffee. All in all a decent place to spend the night on my way through, which given the location (middle of nowhere as is much of Texas), is all it needs to be.
The halls wreaked of cigarette smoke. The entire place is run down and one of the filthiest dirtiest motels i've ever been in! As soon as I got into my room I had this overwhelming desire to check for bugs before we set our stuff or bodies around the room. The listing said "continental breakfast", there was nothing. The coffee pot was on but was empty. I go to Marshall, Tx once a year and guarantee you I will never visit this establishment again!
