I expected a rough but genuine attempt at a Bavarian style getaway for our wedding anniversary, but was impressed to find it very much exceeded expectations. Our waiter for dinner(Robert) was amazing and made sure everything was absolutely perfect. We will definitely be returning!

I appreciated that the desk phone was picked up promptly, I liked that staf was cheerful, professional and helpful.

The property is amazing. And the food is more amazing. Highly recommend.

Way too expensive for the mediocre facility. The desk staff was efficient, but not at all friendly or welcoming. The room was well used, window and door glass were dirty, and the tub grout was discolored. All in all, the beautiful vistas were not worth the premium price. The restaurant was a little pricey too, but the food was excellent, which made up for the price.

Loved it! A great getaway not too far from home.

Nice hotel. Conveniently located near the C & O Canal. Nice view of the river (and the highway). Loved the whirlpool tub and the balcony! The room service was great!

This place is not nice. Do not be fooled! To start with, I did not like paying $190 per night for a room in the middle of nowhere in West Virginia. However, I thought if the place is nice, it will be worth it. As mentioned by a few other reviewers, the staff is argumentative and quite rude. I waited half an hour to even check-in. The buildings where the rooms are housed more closely resemble low-income housing than a luxury hotel. The stairs and hallways are dirty and smell. The rooms are crowded with outdated furniture and poor decoration. The mattresses are so old, you can feel the coils. We went back to our room and to bed. Since we were tired from traveling, we put the "Privacy Please" on our door. At 9:00 sharp, there was banging on our door that sounded like when the police beat on a door on a TV show. Only, instead of "POLICE," a woman shouted, "HOUSEKEEPING." Deep in sleep, it was so startling that we were unable to go back to our slumber. My husband, who does not often get an opportunity to sleep late was incensed and called the front desk--demanding to know why this happened. The person that he spoke with simply apologized and told him to have a good day. Finally, the tennis courts are a mess with patching causing the balls to divert in crazy directions. The pool and the pool bar are the only redeeming qualities of the place. Cooks and maids smoking in groups close to guests is quite unprofessional, also.

Very nice, friendly and clean. I will recommend it to my friends. Great restaurant and the infinity pool is awsome!

Stayed here for a few days to see the nearby Civil War sites. The staff are all friendly, anxious to make your stay perfect, and professional. We ended up eating in the restaurant more than expected because the food is excellent! After a long day of sightseeing, the pub was a cozy and casual place to have a night cap.
