Checked in on Thursday and within 3 days have changed 4 different rooms. One room had a broken door lock but that didn't seem to phase hotel staff. The other rooms were sitting on 28 degrees with a window open and portable fan working. Temperature of rooms have been disgustingly hot causing me to have headaches. Room temperature is set and can't be changed. I asked for a cooler room several times and struggled to get one. Eventually settled with a room that had a temperature of 24. I have had more then 16 staff stay in this hotel in the last 4 weeks and 95% have reported back that the room temperature was unbearable. Its time to change hotels as Crowne is no longer interested in customer satisfaction. All staff rooms were booked as "Non Smoking" but again it didn't phase Crowne to place staff in smoking rooms!!! Its even more disappointing when they lie and tell you its non smoking when it clearly is not. One room I was changed to was on level 10 and they claimed it was non smoking yet it stunk of cigarettes and had an ash tray!!! Go figure. Whilst staff are pleasant its not acceptable that a hotel that caters for internationals not have people who speak and understand english. Duty managers in particular should have proficiency english skills. The bar: has a list of cocktails yet at least 5 or more on the list can't be ordered because they tell you they have run out of cranberry juice... For godsake Tesco is down the road! I asked for several cocktails in Sept '17 and was told out of cranberry juice, back now 7 months later and funny enough out of cranberry juice. How about you just update your menu and stop playing games with customers. Smoking: I understand that China is behind with smoking regulations but something needs to be done. Have stayed in this hotel for years but I think the time has come for change. Standards have dropped dramatically and hotel management don't seem to care. This is how they treat long term IHG members so imagine how others are treated!!
I am currently staying in crown plaze shenyang parkview room 4127. I just checked-in for over two hrs now but i had the worse experience so far. 1. Its too warm in the room n the people here told me aircon is not working from 3-6am? I felt dizzy and hot in the room and wait for around 30 mins still got no Solutions from the team in here and ask me wait and see. Then they Offer me another room with 2 beds and tht room have terrible loud noise of the air con tht is not working. 15 mins later again they offer me the third room with no air con but at least a not so good working weak fan. When i go shower, there is loads of someone hair in the pipe and over the small shower head which is extremely disgusting. The big shower head not working so i have no choice. I also found rubbish tht obviously not by me in the trash. And i am very upset about paying even more expensive in hotels.com then booking through their webite here just now. Doesnt make any sense and people respond are slow. I had been staying in china different hotels but this is absolutely the worse. Flight had been delay for 6 hrs and this is wht i got after i paid 2500 rmb gor three nites.
I normally stay at the Shang-Ri-La which is beautiful but badly located. Tried Crowne Plaza again after a previous OK stay. Near the park and great selection of local and western restaurants. A bit dated but my room was nice and the breakfast was good. Fine for a business stay.
Everything about the hotel was pretty much perfect! The breakfast was always made well. The staff were always so helpful and also the hotel is near resteruants such as KFC, Pizza Hut and local food. There was also a tesco near which was very convenient and a metro which took 5 mins to get to.
Though there are still some minor annoyances here, this hotel continues to improve,, particularly in its service levels. On this visit, I was impressed by the excellent inter-personal skills of the restaurant staff, with name recognition from the Manager being a first. The small suites remain strangely furnished and badly lit so most of the space is unusable and reading is very difficult. The internal signage to the mystery business centre has gone now and the formerly ever-closed lounge has relocated to a corner of the ground floor lounge bar -not in any way special. Still a long way from deserving its advertised star rating.
I stayed here for two nights recently and enjoyed my stay. Due to my IHG member status, I was upgraded to a 'Duplex' room, which was nice, but the room smelled a bit damp and the fridge was leaking. They did fix everything the second day and I had no further problems. The view from this top floor room was good notwithstanding the haze that is a permanent feature in most Chinese cities. The hotel was a walking distance from the Beiling Park.
Very few staff had the ability to communicate in English. Rooms were horrible, air conditioner didn't work, wall paper was peeling off, carpet disgustingly dirty and torn. I asked for another room but it wasn't much better, I gave up and just counted the days I had left to go! You can actually smell the mould in the rooms and specific sections of the hotel. They did exchange Australian dollars at a good rate.
A very friendly hotel well situated in Shenyang. The Japanese restaurant offered an interesting choice of food the European restaurant was pretty standard. The breakfasts were a mix of European and Chinese there was something for everyone The hotel was clean and a reasonable standard with one are two very small issues on cleanliness but overall a very nice place to stay.
The hotel is located in a good spot. Easy access to the city, bar street, etc.. Room stinks of smoke and air conditioning is not very good in the room. Also windows let all the street noise in, so be prepared to be woken up early morning due to traffic horns!
Hotel is well situated near underground within easy access to Wuai market and shopping strips. Only problem is that the heating stays on even though you switch it off. Great restaurants opposite hotel, Korean, Beijing and local food. Staff friendly and eager to assist. Managers were helpful but internet very slow
