Boyfriend and I had 24hour layover in Shanghai and stay here. It smelled of cigarette smoke and was in poor condition. The room is very small. It was fine because we were exhausted but had to leave door open at night to get smoke smell out of room. We did reserve non-smoking.
The hotel rooms had what they needed but the bed was a bit hard. In the basement there is a free fitness center with a swimming pool. Remember that this swimmingpool is a part of the fitness center so you can only swim in lanes. Also you have to wear a swimming cab.
Front desk Staff of this hotel is very rude and not co-operative. Most if the staff do not speak english. Front desk staff literally yell at guests. Room has dusts on some of elements. Restaurant does not serve any good veg food.
Lets get something straight not by any means a four star hotel, basically a two. We got a room on 31st floor, the room wasnt even fully painted, microwave blocking the tv, barely cleaned and the view was of the city. Really not worth the price, i rather go to the mariott or anywhere else. No drinks anywhere or anyt hing really offered, and the service absolute waste of time. Will not be coming back, oh yes the elevator questionable. Though one positive thing, quite a nice comfortable bed.
Location is terrible. We arrived to find that the prepaid booking wasn't on their system. They demanded 1000rmd to be able to stay the night. At least there was wi fi so was able to send e mail to our travel agent. Finally accepted our booking the next day but held on to the 1000rmd until we checked out. Room very small. Black mould in the bathroom. Furniture very old and worn out. No restaurant so we had to go across the road to a take away. There is a supermarket close by. Metro is about ten minutes walk as is a Mcdonalds and shopping mall. How this ''hotel'' is supposed to be four star I will never know. It's an apartment block and massage club.
This place is absolutely DISGUSTING. I have never stayed in anywhere more dirty than this. Staff were rude. The images on any website is SO misleading. Water would swing from cold to extremely hot - completely uncontrollable. Does not even deserve a 1 star rating! Absolutely abhorrent that they can charge $300yuan a night for this standard of living circumstances.
We've changed 3 rooms in 5 days, one worst than other. Bad cleaning, full of cockroaches, someone started a fire to get rid of them. Not worth the money, really not. Way to expensive for what you get. No access to the facilities, unless you pay, except the wi-fi, which was almost working.
Disaster and nothing else. I lived on 37-th floor and water flow was so weak that sometimes just dissapeared, had to go to gym in order to wash my hair. Swimming pool/gym only for extra money, same for gym. Both closed at 22-00 but you will never know about that since all messages are in Chinese and staff "just forgot, sorry", as a result you may be kicked from the facility after changing you clothes and jumping to the water/ steeped in the gym. Impossible to find the way to the breakfast restaurant, you will be lost in underground parking with no arrows/indicators/anybody speaking English. Breakfast itself is no good and absolutely not worth that money. Besides hotel denied my breakfasts (saying that in Chinese version breakfasts are writted as "to be paid saparately" and for English version (breakfast included and paid) they do not care....
I was there for spending a summer holiday with friends. I thought that the hotel gonna be good enough looking from their rate and photo(s). I arrived there and do check in at around 12 o'clock in the afternoon. When I did the check in procedure, it a bit weird. The front desk man is not really good with english so since I was a chinese language student, I tried my best to speak with Chinese languange. Even though I did it with mandarin, the Receptionist still cant get my message (it was really frustrating moment I swear) but i tried my best to understand him. And after finish, I gave a 1000rmb as a deposit and asked can I use my debit card for the rest cost? And then the receptionist said can. After swipe my card and asked me to type my password, he told me that the transaction was failed. But luckily I linked my bank card with my phone so whenever I do a transaction, the bank gonna send me a message. And right after I typed my password, the bank sent me a SMS said that the transaction is going well. I confused and asked wether maybe their debit machine was broken or something (since Im dont understand whats going on). And then the receptionist called the manager and the manager just came out from the office and just checked at the machine and said in Chinese languge (But really not joking, I do understand any chinese because i can speak chinese!!) he said that the transaction was failed and asked me to do it one more time. And then the manager is gone. The receptionist asked me to do it one more time and of course I didn't want because i paid it already as the Bank told me via SMS. So the receptionist called someone from the office, this guy is still young yet has no manner at all. Since I learnt chinese I really understand what he talked. He said like a bad words in chinese and said that im stupid and silly, crazy etc while he slammed the front desk and threw the telephone in front of me. I felt like really really angry at that time but I tried to speak politely "can you help me call the bank? Since Im in Shanghai and my bank in Hangzhou can you help me to check it?" And he not even answer me and threw the phone again and called the bank with full of emotions. He keep swearing with Chinese language since he thought that I can't understand chinese but I did really understand what he said, even any words of it! And the case closed after around an hours it turns that my bank made no mistake at all and my card is not broken (like the man always told me before that my ATM card is broken etc) The point here is, i really can't tolerate their rude services. Never in my life someone did that to me. Sorry to say, but even for a free nights, I would rather spend it in another "PROPER" hotels that have manners.
This hotel was shocking. I would definitely not recommend it. We were booked into a king deluxe room and when we saw the room it was so tiny there was nowhere to put your suitcases and you would have to climb over the bed to get to the other side. It smelt terrible. We upgraded to a bigger room which gave us two rooms with a balcony. The balcony was filthy and looked like it had never been cleaned. The hotel itself is very dirty in the communal areas. The staff member that originally checked us in was rude and explained nothing. When we did our upgrade we were lucky to get a different staff member who was more helpful. I would never stay here again. It was shocking.
