Our newly renovated, hand hewn, oak log cabin is nestled in the woods directly between Pigeon Forge and Gatlinburg, TN. Secluded enough to give you the mountain escape you are looking for, yet close to all the area has to offer! Whether you prefer exploring the over 800 miles of hiking trails nearby or gathering indoors for family time – Southern Oak is the perfect place for you! Southern Oak features a king-bed master suite with its own bathroom downstairs. The second level bedroom features a king-bed with a conjoining bathroom to the loft. The loft bedroom has a queen-bed. Each bedroom contains a memory foam mattress complete with luxurious linens and four down pillows. Both bedrooms have their own flat screen TV for endless viewing options. Enjoy a great book or your favorite movie by the fire, wrapped in one of our cozy throws as you take in the wooded views from the living room with vaulted ceilings and a 55”flat screen TV. The beautiful dining area comes complete with a large dining table and seating for four plus two countertop chairs - ideal for family meals, game nights, or breakfast in. Our customized kitchen comes complete with new countertops, stainless steel appliances, microwave, toaster, coffee maker (French Press option also available), and all the cookware you will need. When it comes to additional food options, the choices in the Pigeon Forge and Gatlinburg are endless. You are a short, 5 mile drive to Gatlinburg and an 8 mile drive to downtown Pigeon Forge. Outside you’ll find our spacious front porch with customized XL rocking chairs and a porch swing. The back porch is perfect for dinners around the covered charcoal grill, featuring plenty of seating, with an outdoor couch, chairs, and a hammock for two. You can also unwind after a day of hiking in the hot tub with top of the line jets and lighting. Sothern Oak is the premier spot for families, couples, or long weekend getaways. Close attractions in include the Famous Glades Arts and Crafts Commuinity, Dollywood, Splash Country, Dolly Parton’s Dixie Stampede, Anakeesta, Ole Reds, The Island, Cal Ripken Baseball Park, Rocky Top Sports Complex, Titanic Museum, Hatfield & McCoys Dinner Show, as well as some of the best restaurants, excellent shopping centers. Our cabin is a short 4 miles from Gatlinburg and 8 miles from downtown Pigeon Forge. The Great Smoky Mountain National Park is less than a 20 minute drive! Our convenient location also allows you to bypass a lot of the traffic jams if you prefer!
