I stayed here for 7 nights. Taxi driver was not aware of this hotel, location was not on the big road, a bit inside. Closest subway station is around 200m (City Hall Station) Nearest GS25 or 7-11 is about 50-100m Staffs was OK, they spoke english well Room was clean enough and safe, no belongings went missing. lol
we had 2 rooms for 8 nights. The beds were very comfortable. I could not view my TV. This was fixed but the next morning it failed again and fixed. This time there was no more problem. My son had problem with his air conditioning. He was advised to change room. My sink was leaking and this was fixed in 20 minutes. My room air conditioning failed and I too was asked to change room. I was told by front office that 3 days advance notice is needed to fix. The hotel was in a central location within walking distance of fast food and eating places. It is also near City Hall metro station. Overall we had a pleasant stay in spite of the need to request for fixing. The front desk staff were friendly and efficient.
Good hotel, very clean, very close to the center and subway, friendly stuff, always ready to help. One minus is toilet. It's open and it is in the bedroom, may occur some problems.. still water is always in the rooms, coffee and tea
First time stay in this hotel. Friendly and helpful staff. Many of the staff at front desk do speak English thus we have no problem seeking assistance from them Great location with the airport limo bus stopping near hotel and the subway less than 5 minutes walk from hotel.
The room is old style. Bed is not comfortable like using for many years. Smell the old for duvet and pillow. Not enough power socket for todays world. Bathroom looks back to 80s. Shower curtain is too short so water can spill all over. Mold on wall tiles and wash basin looks very original with no cover so you can see a little bit dirty water pipe underneath. Towels are old too, time to change. Only best thing for bathroom is electronic toilet cover. Good that overall cleanliness is fine. Breakfast on 2nd floor, too limited choices. Only 3 types of bread with 1 jam and butter, sausage, egg, fried rice, boiled rice with choices of instant noodles and hot drink including milk and 2 juices. Best thing for breakfast is Abalone boiled rice, taste great! Very annoying incident is that I was woke up early in the morning at 7.00 by staff of the hotel calling to inform that my breakfast time is until 8.00. So strange because information we have serving time will be till 10.00 so I refused and told them that I will have breakfast before then (10.00) and they said YES. If so why they needed to wake me up that early??? I doubt they may want to manage their seat at the restaurant because the size is very small but decision to push that problem to the guest is totally unacceptable and not professional at all. Location is great! You can walk to Myeongdong and many restaurants around and very close to duty free department store and the palace, temple and monument. In conclusion, I will try another hotel next time!
Location is great as it's near City Hall station. However, this is a very old hotel and have the musty smell that is hard to get rid off when you enter the lobby. We stayed 2 times pre and post travelling to other cities in Korea. 1st time we got the corner room, where the bathroom is only separated by curtain. 2nd time, we got the normal room, where window is limited. Both rooms are hot as they don't open AC during winter months and it's hard to sleep at night even though we kept our windows open. Got a cold due to the open window
Having arrived from china and the obscene luxury hotels there try to radiate, this place was a bit of a shock. But in all honesty it's a perfectly fine mid-range hotel that wouldn't feel out of place in Europe or America. The room is fairly large, though not large enough for a chair to sit in (a major hotel pet peeve of mine). Staff are friendly and speak great English. The location seems to be fairly central, or as central as you can get in Seoul. A couple of quirks: the in-room safe seems to come out of the 1960's and is huge. The toilet is one of those Japanese toilets that spray water, flush automatically and solve calculus equations while you do your business. I never did figure out how to just flush it.
This place was easy to find. Room is spacious and clean. Manage to check in early which was a good thing as I didn't have enough sleep the night before or on the plane. I would deft stay here again if I return
I was there for Christmas. I stayed there for 5 nights, reached the hotel as early as 12pm. Check in time was 2pm. Luckily, they allowed us to check in early, and even let us to view 2 rooms, smoking and non smoking rooms. We decided to settle with the non smoking room on the higher floor. The smoking room has a small window and large mirror beside your bed which i find it weird. While the non smoking room does not have that large window. What you see in the pictures is the same. The room is small not much space. Toilet size is average, with the water spray functions. The room is clean, the housekeeping did a great job but i realise they dont clear the rubbish you put on the table (tissue paper and scrunched up paper). The aircon that acts as a heater too, doesnt really work so i get block nose every night and wake up feeling cold. The winter period on christmas can be cold and unbearable for people who are not used to the cold weather, The staff are friendly and can speak decent english. The hotel price on super peak period is definitely pricey but okay as compared to the other hotels since the location is good too. Location wise is good. 5-10 minutes walk to City Hall station. City hall station compared to Seoul station, is less busy and crowded. There is 2 Starbucks just outside the hotel. Burger King and Macdonalds about 3 minutes walk away. 10minutes walk to Cheonggyecheon Stream which displays amazing lights and decorations. 15minutes walk to Lotte Department. Also 15minutes to Myeongdong, where you can find the famous street foods and also alot of shops to buy your cosmetics and clothing.
The New Seoul Best Western is very conveniently located close to transportation and downtown sightseeing. It is about four blocks away from the City Hall subway station and easy walking distance to the Gyeonbokgung and Deosugung Palaces. There is a shuttle bus direct to the airport (separate fare) one block away. The rooms were clean and comfortable, decorated in a simple, modern style with a flat screen TV, coffee-pot, mini-fridge and free wi-fi. The rate was very affordable (as Best Westerns tend to be). There is a dining room but we ate out. Although in the heart of the city, the location is nonetheless tucked away in a quiet spot. One item to note: there are a dozen stairs leading up to the lobby so you may need to lug your bags up as there is no ramp and no bellboys. On the plus side, there are easily a half dozen of South Korea’s ubiquitous coffee shops (Tom N Toms, Caffe Bene, Starbucks, Angel in-us) for you to choose from within two blocks of the hotel.
