This was our first time staying at this hotel on one of our regular trips to and from the South of Spain. Ideal location, not far from the motorway and situated in a wooded park which we found very quiet and relaxing! Hotel has a large, free secure parking area which is always a plus! My only negative is that our superior room was in need of an update. The carpet was stained and the walls could have done with a lick of paint. However, I appreciate it is a large hotel and the refurbishment needs to be done in stages. The bar and restaurant area was modern and very welcoming. The fact that our room was a little tired did not affect our stay in any way as everything else was perfect. We had dinner in the restaurant which was excellent and breakfast the next morning was very good too. Our room was also very clean and so were the public areas in the hotel. In my opinion the staff; particularly the bar/restaurant staff deserve a special mention as they were very friendly but also very professional. We would definitely consider a return visit in the future.
Much better than we expected. Not quite 4 star but helpful and friendly staff. Very good service in restaurant and we had 3 good evening meals. Rooms are a little tired but very clean, good linen and towels. Would definitely return. Great value
This used to be a comfortable place for a family stopover. However, it is now seriously below standard and over-priced. The public spaces look tired and tatty. Rooms are stuffy with no aircon. Pillows are cheap and uncomfortable. The springs on the sofa-bed mattress stick into your back. If you stay here, you're in for an expensive bad night's sleep. All of which is a shame as the staff are generally helpful and the location is attractive: right next to the forest of Rouvray where William the Conqueror used to ride. Novotel you can do better - put some of your profits into an upgrade!
Near both the exhibition centre and Zenith arena to the South of Rouen, this good budget hotel is a pleasant place to stay out of town. There is ample parking and a tram nearby will get you to Central Rouen if you do not want the 15 minute drive by car. A taxi in the evening was €35 to get home after a meal in town. The staff are nice and the hotel felt safe and is suitable for business or family stays. There is an outside swimming pool in the middle that you can eat your breakfast beside if you want. The buffet breakfast is simple, basic and good The rooms are clean and the beds comfortably hard. The free Wifi works in the rooms and there is a fridge, but no safe in the rooms. This is a good place to stay visiting the Zénith arena or the exhibition Centre, which are only a short walk away. It is in a peaceful location on the edge of the forrest with pleasant walks available. With it’s hospitable bar, front desk layout, and general design, this hotel did remind me of the 1970’s Crossroads TV programme…
I tried to book the Novotel in the city but it didn't have vacancies so the reservation desk suggested this 4 star property. I do not agree, it is definitely a three star only. The furniture in the rooms is dated and the walls needed to be painted. Hotel lobby is significantly nicer than the rooms and the receptionist was friendly.
Good hotel but doesn't match in my opinion in a 4star category. The hotel is nice, dinner there was ok and breakfast is fully of choice. However the hotel is not so modern and not very attractive. Reminds me some airport hotels completely with no identity. In brief it's a good hotel but not a 4 star in my opinion.
We often stay at this hotel (and also Orleans la Source). It is very acceptable for this type of hotel. However is time the beds seemed a lot firmer, but my main complaint is about the restaurant. They used to have a very good Thai Green Curry or some pasta dish on the menu. Now it is mainly steaks, burgers etc with chips. This time I had an omelette (with chips) and my husband had a Caesar Salad. The salad was running with dressing and looked more like a soup than a salad and he could not finish it. The half board terms, which you book and pay for in advance, are no longer attractive so we don't have breakfast which is now too expensive and we order dinner separately.
Great for an over night stop on the way back from loire. There are not many hotels in France for a family of 5 but novotel caters for this. The room was very spacious. The girls got a small toy on arrival which was a wonderful treat. Close enough to macdonalds for dinner. Would definitely stay here again.
We regularly use this hotel as an over night stop when travelling in France since its location is ideal for us. Although the rooms are a little 'tired', they are spacious and adequate with a comfortable bed. They offer a mini fridge with a free bottle of water, a safe and tea/coffee making facilities. The hotel is in a quiet area and set in large grounds with an outdoor pool (summer only) and children's play area. We usually eat in the hotel restaurant - an added bonus if arriving late. We have always found the staff to be friendly and helpful.
Asked for a room with disabled facilities. Bathroom had shower in bath ???, only a single handle next to the toilet. Not very clean. Room was for 2 persons, but the hotel did put a 3rd bed in the room for my daughter; unfortunately, bed was old, collapsed all the time, had missing slats, old matras... Price to high for such room/quality.
