We stayed here for three nights 12-15 Augusts. The building is beautiful and the location excellent for Rouen. The valet service for cars is efficient and convenient (though expensive). We have nothing but praise for the reception staff and the service they provide but this doesn't extend to the shambles which is the breakfast room at this hotel. Whoever decided to give it 5 stars did not bother to stay for breakfast! For the first two days the hotel was busy and we, unfortunately, decided to take breakfast at its most popular time (between 9 & 9.30). However surely this shouldn't be a problem for a 5-star hotel? There was a limited amount of space and only one free table (which was cluttered with the previous occupants' remains). We were shown to this one and the plates were cleared. We were still waiting after 10 minutes though for the table to be re-set and it took a further 10 minutes for us to be presented with a knife and fork (quite useful for eating breakfast). The breakfast bar was reasonably well-stocked with the usual continental offerings but I have never been to any hotel in the world where there is no offering of a cereal or muesli etc. Furthermore, despite this being France, they had run out of croissants by 9.00 on the first two days and, each time, it needed requests from 2 or 3 guests for these to be re-stocked - even then it took about 20 minutes. This proved to be a recurring theme each day: the dopy waiters would not look to see what needed re-stocking. They would wait for 2 or 3 guests to demand it. On our final morning, the breakfast room was much quieter but hardly any better. This was because the management had reduced the number of waiters from 4 to 2. We asked for the orange juice to be replenished and, when nothing happened for 10 minutes, we took the empty carafe to a waiter at the counter and asked again. We asked again just before we left but still got no reaction. There seemed no management at all in the breakfast room and no sense of organization. The waiters were surly at best and the food just passable. We had booked a deal which included breakfast but we kept wishing we hadn't. The cafe across the square seemed to be offering much better fare (and probably at a much lower price). Don't waste your money on any breakfast deal.

Superb quality hotel, fully worth all of its 5 stars. Elegant rooms, both the modern and traditional ones are an absolute pleasure to stay in. The staff makes you feel more then welcome. Excellent located in the old town. This is my #1 choice when visiting Rouen! Despite the breakfast can be slightly better.

We debated whether we wanted to spend more than one night in Rouen, but we are really glad we did. This hotel was a perfect base for us. Architecture is great. Rooms are well done and front desk service was great. The pool and spa were excellent. Our kids really enjoyed the pool. Breakfast was good as well. Lot's of restaurants nearby and the cathedral is a short walk. Don't miss the light show. We used Elegance Limousine (on recommended by hotel) for tour of Normandy beaches.

We stayed here in part for its central location but also because a friend was able to get us an upgrade through his Marriott status. We had a little trouble finding it by car, as Waze kept sending us down streets that were for pedestrians only. Finally we switched over to Google Maps and were led to the valet. They must have been busy, because no valet met us and so I had to unload the car on my own. From there, check in was efficient and pleasant. We were guided to our room which was on the second floor, and would be totally hidden if you didn't know where to look. Our room was huge and had a nice view of the courtyard. Inside were small treats to welcome us. The bathroom was also quite large and updated, with a separate room for the toilet (which is nice for couples!). Kenny helped us check in and then also find a restaurant for dinner, along with directions to the restaurant. He was very eager, spoke perfect English, and took his time with us. Thank you Kenny! Our only real complaint was that the curtains in the room do not fully sit flush against the wall, and so there was a crack of light right along my pillow at bedtime. This wasn't so bad for getting to sleep, but in the morning the bright light was on us early! I've included pictures taken from the bed. The next morning we had an included breakfast in the restaurant. The restaurant was gorgeous and the buffet was much more upscale than a typical continental breakfast. Was a great start to our day before heading to the train station back to Paris. All in all, you couldn't go wrong staying here while in Rouen.

I chose this hotel mainly because of its central location in the city and the parking facilities. I was a little concerned after reading a report of a tight car park, but on arrival all was good. The sat nav brought us through wide avenues stress less straight to the hotel. It's a little vague where the hotel entrance is but it's just to the right, I was unaware there were two designated parking areas for hotel arrivals marked by steel bollards and yellow crosses on the road so I double parked and then went to reception. These parking spaces were in the road which the sat nav brought us to. You have an option of parking yourself in the main car park or asking for the car to be parked for you. The entrance to the car park is the only tight thing about the car park that's tight, but it's not that bad unless you have a Hummer perhaps. The hotel was excellent, very helpful staff, everything totally professional throughout out stay and near all you are likely to want to see.

If you enjoy history and a relaxing environment, this is the hotel for you. Although the breakfast did not meet the quality and ambience of the hotel, I can forgive this minor fault. If you are visiting by car, the only access is via Luther place as in a pedestrian area.

The location of this hotel is truly fantastic. The restored façade and courtyard are amazing. Even if you are not staying here, you should have a look. Too bad it all goes wrong with the decor of the bar. The aggressive red that was used, the wrong lighting and the polyester pseudo-art do hurt your eyes. Too bad the pleasant atmosphere of the rooms is not extended in the rest of the hotel. Neat but can still be better. The iron that was available, was not clean and stained our clothes ... coffee making facilities on request only ... (??) ... the breakfast was a bit of a disappointment. the food is ok, but the general atmosphere is cheerless (yes the cheap red accents are back again) and boring ... paper tablerunner and napkins, no saucer under your coffee cup (eh?), unconfortable plexy Stark chairs,...a cappuccino not worthy of the name (weak tastless coffee with milk) ...they were out of jam ... (??). Overall very friendly staff. The hotel would gain enormously from some interior adjustments and some tuning-down.

Stayed here for 4 nights, as a base to explore Etretat ,Honfleur and Rouen. Hotel is located on a pedestrian area, so or you park your car or ask for the hotel's valet service. Parking fee is 25€ per day. Check in was normal, booked and received a prestige 1 bedroom junior suite ( no upgrade ), on the second floor, 201. Room is of a good size, toilet on the left after the entrance, shower and tub separated. Bed is 1,80 m X 2,00 m, good mattress . Good sound isolation,no noise from the street or from adjoining rooms. Breakfast is normal, hot beverages are served by the waiter and then you serve yourself on the buffet. Breakfast hours are 6:30 to 10:30 h. Expresso coffee machine on the suite. Small wardrobe to put the clothes, comparing to the size of the room. Service is OK The Hotel is located in an historic building, so there is always someone visiting, taking pictures Will stay here again

Just returned from weekend staying at this hotel. Everything about it was really good, the quality of rooms, the excellent location and friendly staff. Some of the accommodation is a little quirky the hotel front doesn't give an indication of the modern facilities within. The bar area is contemporary with modern art on display. Finding how to access the hotel by car would be tricky but we where on motorbike and could park easily in adjacent 2 Rouen bay.

The Hotel is in former medieval building. It is located near where Joan of Arc was burnt at the stake. We stayed in there on two occasions, on our recent trip to Bergerac. The upgraded room is fantastic with separate shower, bathroom and toilet. The bed is the most comfortable I have slept in. The Reception service is courteous and efficient. There is valet service where your car is taken to the Hotel's garage. Breakfast is served in the Hotel Restaurant and is extensive.
