This is a beautifully restored property. It is in pristine condition. The rooms are lovely, the breakfast is delicious, and the host is very helpful.
Beautiful home with beautifully decorated rooms. Our beds were very comfortable. The breakfast was delicious! I would definitely stay here again!
We were there as a couple. We stayed two nights. The bathroom was old fashioned, but once we figured it out, it was all right. Everything was clean and the room was comfortably decorated. We slept well. The owner was very helpful with how and what to see in the area, and he told us a lot about the history, as well. We decided to spend our day locally at Glenmore Park instead of driving to Ft William, and we're very glad we did. The area is beautiful and there was a lot more we could have done if we'd time. The Heritage Folk Museum is a wonderful outdoor museum with buildings from three eras. Fascinating. There are at least two nice restaurants walking distance from the Sonnhalde and a couple more in the next nearby town.
I booked this bed and breakfast last minute during a trip to explore the Highlands . The locations was great , perfect place for exploring Caringorms National Park. The staff was friendly and also gave excellent local recommemdations . The pictures don't do the bed and breakfast justice . Based on the pictures , I was expecting a basic but functional hotel . In person, it was very comfortable with very pleasant furnishings and decorations . I would highly recommend . I actually ended up staying an additional night after my initial stay.
Great location in the Cairngorms National Park. Room was large and had a great view overlooking ruins and mountains. The gentleman who served breakfast was a wealth of information. Gave a great distillery recommendation and provided great historical information on the nearby ruins. Easy walk to town for dinner. Great recommendation from staff for delicious local food. Bed was a bit too firm for me, but if you like a firm mattress then no problem there. Really great view and a great place to stop and explore the area.
