Good points: Nice location, spacious room, comfortable bed, cheerful staff Bad points: Actual room service offering did not correlate with the in-room dining menu provided - No hot food, only cold unappetizing sandwiches which given the remote location of the hotel with no viable alternatives was unacceptable. Thick layers of dust behind furniture which had clearly not been cleaned for years. All sockets in the room bar 2 at the desk were non standard so would not take a standard 3 pin plug. The desk was a good distance away from the bedside tables so it was not possible to have a phone on charge bedside. Tables had not been set up for breakfast - my table had many items missing. There was no effort from the waiting staff to clear the table so I ended up doing it myself as I began to drown in used crockery. I ordered the full breakfast and though tasty was frugal; 1 rasher of bacon and 1 sausage. Along with the general poor decorative state of the hotel I was left with the impression that this was a hotel which had seen better times but now struggling to stay in business.
I stayed here a year ago and decided not to go back however I had to use it again. Things had improved, but it is not the standard you would expect from a 4 Star Hotel. The breakfast was reheated the sausage was very hot on the outside and cold in the middle, yet it was cooked (then it was reheated). Luke warm beans and cold Mushroom, the only hot thing on the plate was the egg. The bathroom had black mould and orange staining on the grout. This is unacceptable for a hotel of this standard. The best part of my stay was the evening meal the catering manager was lovely. The food was beautifully presented and the beef melted in your mouth. The bath panel was in an awful condition, again not the standard you would expect from a 4 star hotel. The first time I stayed I was offered a free night if I ever went back, I did not take them up on the offer, but appreciated the offer. This time I did not even get an apology.
I stayed here for one Thursday night in October with my partner and our dogs. It's a well situated hotel, easy access from the A9, set in beautiful grounds. Our ground floor room was well appointed and comfortable. The staff were warmly welcoming and helpful. Dinner was superb - the dining room, the service, food and wine were all excellent. I would love to give this 5 stars, but for the fact a wedding reception was taking place. Our rear-facing bedroom looked out towards the wedding venue, and the reception went on until well after midnight. The noise was sufficient to disturb sleep. It was not what I would expect in a country hotel in the Highlands, which many people would choose for a peaceful ambience. On another night, without a wedding reception, it would have been near perfect. But music and loud voices until after midnight are not conducive to a good experience.
This was a unique hotel and outside the hustle and bustle of Inverness. Our rooms were extremely nice, baths were heavenly! The Lavender toiletries were scrumptious💜 ! We had a quite informal dinner in the drawing room in front of the fireplace & enjoyed our server who was very knowledgeable about food & drink! Had a restful sleep in comfy king beds! Breakfast was very good and included. Very good - would return. The price was reasonable.
My husband and I visited this hotel earlier this month and were extremely pleased with the whole experience. We had both been to the hotel in the past as guests at weddings and had stayed there once before for bed and breakfast after a wedding. The wedding experience at the Drumossie is always great and there is always a lovely atmosphere. This trip was quite different, as we were staying on a quiet Monday night in October. The room we were given was on the ground floor, overlooking the gardens. It was spacious, clean and comfortable with a lovely bathroom. There was a large, comfortable bed and a seating area, in addition to the desk area. We went down to the lounge for a drink before making our way to the restaurant for dinner. The ambience in the lounge is fantastic - very relaxed and a comfortable place to spend an hour or two! The staff were friendly, helpful and professional at all times. We had dinner in the restaurant and we were blown away by the food. I had pigeon breast to start, which I had never tried before. It was delicious and well worth trying something new. I then had the venison which was out of this world! I have sampled venison in lots of restaurants but this was by far the best! Mouth-wateringly good! My husband ordered the scallops, followed by pork belly. He was very impressed with these too - exceptional food! We both ordered the chocolate fondant for dessert and it did not fail to impress - it melted in the mouth and was absolutely delicious. Breakfast the following morning was also great. I ordered an omelette, which was very tasty and filling. My husband ordered the full Scottish breakfast and thoroughly enjoyed it. Overall, I would not hesitate to recommend this hotel to others. Comfortable, relaxing, friendly hotel with luxurious food - 5 stars!
Went for a friend's wedding - great location - food was ok - standard wedding food nothing to write home about unfortunately. Hotel- very clean - staff helpful and professional - we had a problem with our room not being ready and it was dealt with quickly and efficiently. The surroundings are beautiful especially the lights in the trees at night; however we had to leave very early and there was limited light in the car park. The bedrooms were ok, the mattress far too soft for my liking - also very expensive and old fashioned but good bathrooms - we have been to high class hotels for a lot less, and there was nothing outstanding to pay the price asked- Because you are out in the city centre the hotel milks it. Lots of parking - easy place to find. a great place to have a wedding but the guests pay the price for it it!!!! Hire a car if coming from airport as the taxi fares are ridiculous and it is cheaper
From the moment we arrived the staff were great, friendly & very helpful. Our room was lovely. Very spacious, very clean & had a great view. We had dinner in the restaurant, which was exceptional. The food was delicious & the service was first class. We had no complaints & enjoyed a fab evening! Breakfast was good & again the staff were attentive & helpful. We loved our stay here & would recommend it to family & friends!
This hotel was a nice, the grounds were nice and the room was nice. The breakfast was pretty good and i enjoyed the lobby fireplace. The one quarrel I have with his place was the bathroom fan which I had to locate and unplug, sounded like an engine in my bathroom! I would not recommend this place to young couples but believe this place to be better suited for older couples. Great stay.
Comfy clean modern rooms, with plenty parking. The hotel is about 5 minutes drive from the city centre, very easy to get to. I had a spacious double room, bed was very comfortable and clean, clean tiled modern bathroom with plenty hot water, I had breakfast in my room, it was delivered when I asked and it was excellent. Staff were are helpful and friendly, thoroughly enjoyed my stay and I've would definitely recommend this hotel
Large comfortable rooms and lots of free parking. Just off the highway but about a 10 minute drive to the City Center where the restaurants are. Friendly and helpful staff. Free WiFi and a nice lounge. There's no pool or spa. Large banquet room. We only spent 1 night so we didn't spend much time at the hotel.
