I wasn't expecting much when I arrived at the hotel in Leipzig, but I was pleasantly surprised. The location of the hotel is just perfect, the staff is very friendly, helpful, use their common sense and speak very good English. The food isn't great but definitely not bad. The rooms are spacious, clean and quiet. The bathroom is clean, unfortunately only equipped with a shower, but nevertheless, I definitely recommend this hotel.
Over the years I have stayed here many times, really nice hotel, wonderful bar area and the rooms are very comfy (beds are great to sleep in and the pillows are really soft). It costs a little more to stay here and its a little away from the centre of town (in comparison with many of the other central hotels), but still a worth it
We stay at this hotel every year when we make our annual pilgrimage to the Wave Gotik Treffen gathering of Goths in the city. Usually, we are sharing a beer or a corridor with many of the bands, as this is generally where they stay too. The bar is open 24/7, the food is good and the drinks selection is vast. The pool/sauna/gym are an additional treat. I have two criticisms: the overtly sexist "humour" on the toilet doors (Women= shopping and Men= football: Really?! In 2018? And "ladies" and "mens" sizes of steaks? *Eyeroll*) And this year: Our room wasn't cleaned ONCE in 5 days, despite complaining to the reception desk staff. This was rectified with a 10% discount from the manager on our last day, but this really was too little too late. Those two niggles aside, I do love this hotel and will still be returning next year, for the fantastic atmosphere and laid-back vibes alone. This time though- take note, management; please clean the rooms on the 3rd floor!
I traveled with my husband to Leipzig for Wave Gotik Treffen, and we stayed at Pentahotel. It was our first time in Europe, and our experience couldn't have been better. I'm so glad we chose Penta. 24/7 bar and food service, comfortable bed, awesome showers, and kind staff. The location was only a 10 - 15 minute walk from central station, too. I would absolutely stay here again.
This is my 4th stay at this hotel in Leipzig and is now my favourite. I have been to Leipzig 13 times now and stayed at several hotels. I love the vibe the hotel has. Service from the staff is always friendly and good. The rooms are always nice, with everything as it should be.
This 4 star modern hotel is about 10 minutes walk away from the centre, and offers sleek rooms, an indoor pool, a fitness area as well as a big ritzy bar in the lobby. The bar is open 24h and gives free pool tables and peanuts! Our room was nice with a comfortable bed, excellent shower, but rather surprisingly for a 4 star hotel, NO fridge, room safe or coffeemaker in the room. How can you keep the bottled water provided cool? The other downside was the poor free wifi with unusable speeds<100kbps. You can pay €7.50 a day for ' premium' option. This makes business transactions almost impossible. The breakfast was plentiful and great but €19 extra. Friendly, young staff and good service otherwise.
Interesting design, the bar is part of reception and totally funky lifts. Friendly helpful staff, very clean, felt secure. The location us excellent, central but quiet. Bar food is good and staff were happy to accurately split the bill between us. Recommended.
As keen environmentalists and motoring enthusiasts we own two Electric Cars, a Tesla Model S and a BMWi3. This was a trip organised by the BMWi3 UK Facebook group to visit the BMW factory in Leipzig. We decided to extend our trip with a 7-Day motoring holiday in Germany, travelling in the Tesla via the Supercharger network and the charging facilities at most of the hotels we stayed at. Travelling by electric car is a great zero-emission method of transport, the money you save on fuel, rental cars and airline tickets means you can spend on attractions and great hotels. Many people have not considered Germany as a holiday destination, we’ve been a few times by car, our last trip to the Christmas Market in Aachen a few months ago. All I can say is if you have not explored Germany, you are really missing out. I’ll be posting a few reviews of the places we stayed and some of the attractions we visited. The second place we visited was Leipzig, we stayed at the Penta Hotel for two nights. Most importantly for electric car drivers; The Penta Hotel car park has two Type-2 Charging points on the –1 level (First level that you enter from). Note that the this is a shared car park and the normal allocated hotel parking bays are on the -2 level. The car park is spacious but watch the kerbs on the tight entry and exit ramps and note also the restricted vehicle height limit. The hotel reception staff have keys for the chargers in case they are switched off and were very helpful pointing out where the EV bays were. You will need your own Type-2 cable. There is a nominal charge made for the electricity. If you arrive by car you can unload in the hotel forecourt, which is convenient if you have lots of bags. From the car park there is direct access to the Hotel reception via a short corridor and a lift. Upon arrival you walk straight into a well-equipped bar/reception area, comfortable seats and a rather funky library. In the courtyard there is a bar area and as we were basking in 25C weather (in April!) the exterior bar where tasty food is also severed was the place to be. Excellent service and a comfortable environment. The rooms are well-equipped, very clean and spacious. Breakfast had an extensive buffet menu, everything was tasty and well presented. All in all, this hotel ticks all the boxes: Great value for money, very pleasant staff, spotless and well-equipped rooms ideal for families, business people or couples.
Great hotel, check in was a bit old fashioned, as individual signatures were required, and there were 28 of us, staff were helpful, room was clean and comfy, BUT NO KETTLE TEA or COFFE facilities in the room, good job i had my own, the free internet was useless, less than 1 MB the paid internet advertised as fast was 3 MB so not fast at all, only good for emails, wouldn't stay again out of choice because of tea coffee facilities not in room and bad internet.
Nice hotel with lots of positive supprizes. Good and friendly staff. Clean rooms. Relaxed atmosphere. Helpful staff. Located centrally. Walking distance to town, railway station nearby, many restaurants nearby.
