Hotel is very old. Decorating the rooms awful. Bed is like for kids ver small. Wifi has terribly bed. Breakfast is disaster. If you have a chance never come this Hotel. Just personal were so nice. Others forget it. I will never recommend this hotel even to my enemy.
The description of this hotel included slippers and robes in the list of amenities and there were none. The kitchen area was dirty, and even though we didn’t use it, it made us wonder about the cleanliness of the rest of the room. The beds were not too comfortable. We were pleased with the 3 big windows and great view. And although there wasn’t much English spoken, the reception staff tried to be helpful.
We are two young Norwegian girls that booked this hotel for one night stay, to attend a concert at Red Bull arena. When we arrived the staff told us that there apparently was a "problem" with the booking system, so our room was dobbel booked. They had no spare room for us at the hotel, so they arranged a room for us at a partner hotel. This new hotel should be located 10 min driving avay, they also pointed it out for us at the map, in the city centre. The hotel janitor took us there by car. The only problem is that it took more than 30 minutes driving, and when we looked at google maps, we were way out of Leipzig. So the hotel management actually lied to us, to get our approval to say yes to this new hotel. We wasted a lot of hours trying to get a new room in the city, with no luck. The staff at Royal International was rude and not helpfull at all. The only positive about this hotel was the janitor who picked us up in the car after the concert. He also picked us up the next morning to get us back to the city. The next morning we asked for an apology, because we felt that they did not treat us right. We got a rude answer, and no apologies. I really do not recommend this hotel. The staff is rude and not service minded. At least we got our money back, after talking to hotels.com for several hours. But we wasted the whole day in Laipzig travelling in a car, and arguing with the hotel staff.
This is a nice downtown hotel with a location within sight of the main train station. Though it is near all the traffic, it didn't seem so noisy The rooms were of a strange layout, like they were done to take advantage of the space available. However, the staff informed us that a remodel was in the near future. Our room was a different layout than our friends room just down the hall. Both of our rooms had a kitchenette in them and refrigerator/mini-bar. The rooms were spacious but the bath room was a bit small and the shower reminded me of the older cruise ships, really tight. (a 20 inch opening to get into the shower. The breakfast here was very good and had a nice variety and changed parts of it each day. The staff was very friendly and helpful, though some spoke a better English than others. We enjoyed our time here. The Altstadt is a short walk away as is eating and shopping. BY the way, the entrance is just around the corner toward the Marriott.
We stayed at the Royal international Leipzig the rooms where large and comfortable with a kitchen and separate bedroom the breakfast was very good with a wide range food The Hotel is on the main road and across the road from the train station so it can be a little noisy select a top floor room. The hotel is in the central of the city easy access to trains and tube.We had a big family celebration some of the family stayed at other hotels so it was in easy access to other hotels in the area. If we revisit Leipzig again I would re book this Hotel.
The hotel is within walking distance to St. Thomas church, St. Nicholas church, Leipzig Zoo and the 3 Grassi museums, including the Museum of Musical Instruments. It is right across the street from one end of the shopping mall, Hofe am Bruhl and nearly across the street from the Hauptbahnhof. Parking cost 8 euros a day, however, that is inexpensive considering that the Mariott, next door, charges 22 euros a day and the parking for the mall costs even more. The parking is outside on a sandy, pebbly surface around the corner from the hotel. The room rate included a European style breakfast, including meats, cheese, yogurt, fruit, bread, hard boiled eggs, and also included scrambled eggs. The morning crew was very efficient around the breakfast area as it was always stocked with plenty of food and choices, while managing to clean up the plates from the tables in a timely manner so that people had a place to eat. My room was clean and comfortable. The shower stall was a bit cozy, however the hot water was hot and the spray was firm making for a very nice, warm shower. The wifi worked well and there was ample bandwidth in my room. The city center area is quite compact. The walk from the hotel to the zoo took about 15 minutes at a leisurely pace. That was shorter than from my hotel to the St. Thomas church which is on the other side of the center. If you are coming in by train, there is no need to rent a car to get around the city. The busses ran often, however, I could walk everywhere I wanted to go to. Being across from the Hauptbahnhof, fast food was readily available, especially on a Sunday night. There were two burners, a sink, and a small refrigerator in my room. I think it is standard in all rooms. The hotel met all my expectations, especially around breakfast. There are other hotels in the immediate area, however, the location of this one at a fair price, makes this one more desireable than the others.
Great location it's in the heart of the city, big and clean rooms, comfortable bed, nice breakfast and a nice bar. I've stayed in many hotels in Leipzig, but the royal hotel has been the best so far! You pay more and get more!
hotel is ideally situated by Richard Wagner Strasse and only a stone's throw away from the central station Leipzig Hauptbahnhof. Bedrooms have good spacious bathrooms but for single rooms beds could do with being a little bigger. Rooms are cleaned in a good way and are well heated . Service at breakfast time is good choice exists for breakfast but scrambled eggs, sausages and rashers/bacon strips were almost cold. Quality of bread served was excellent. Reception desk was very helpful in planning how to get to different museums or places of interest and using a tagging system were able to keep the bags at the reception area for the few hours after checking out and before heading to train station and/or airport.
The hotel is in a good location but that's the only good thing I can say about it. The decor was horrifying - it was dated & very tired. The beds were not comfortable and the pillows thin and lumpy. The bath/shower had a hand held shower which is at knee level, so you can't stand under the water to wash your hair with both hands. The breakfast was TERRIBLE. The coffee smelt like old people and was undrinkable. The variety of food was lacking and what was available was disgusting. I would not recommend this hotel, unfortunately.
It was just okay. Clean. Located across the Hauptbanhof, but the road is extremely wide, you'll need to use the underpass or better yet, a taxi. Electric kettle. Refrigerator with free refreshments inside. Wifi access. On the downside, hotel and room had no character. Didn't look or feel inviting. I disliked the layout of the hotel reception leading to the elevator. Bad energy flow. Unfriendly looking hallways. Window on was next to the road, so the street noise was audible from the first floor. Breakfast was not good either. Hotel staff was ignorant with directions. I was given directions by the receptionist to the wrong museum, I found out later. Costly mistake. Taxi dropped us off to the place. We found out that museum was closed and far away from a taxi stands. Lost. Scary experience for a first timer. A waste of time and effort. Convenient place to stay but forgettable. I'm hoping that the other hotels have better service than this.
