Savannah Marriott Riverfront

The hotel is currently renovating. So there are a lot of workers in the hotel and some floors in somewhat disarray. I can forgive that. They have a total of four elevators. Only two were working and the workers were using those two elevators as well. So you have guests, hotel staff and workers going up and down the same elevators. It got a bit irritating waiting 5+ minutes for the elevator to show up and then you stop on every floor on the way down. I can forgive that. What I can't forgive is the old mildew funk that emanated from our bed sheets. The pillows and bed sheets had a smell that made you gag. It was so bad we were worried that the smell would stick to us. All around the staff was very friendly the room was nice, except the bed. Also parking is $21 a day and no one told me about that. Not happy to be given a bill for $50 as I leave the hotel.

It was amazing. This hotel is overall the best. I would always recommend it. I will be back

Nice hotel on the riverfront. There is a free river ferry service that picks up every 30 minutes right at the hotel and drops you off in the center of all the shops and restaurants on River St. You could walk and still be there in 10 minutes. Only thing we didn't like very much was our room faced east so our view was mostly of the trash dumpsters. Also there was was the 1 am fire/smoke alarm that went off three separate times over an hour span. An announcement was made to standby for further instructions. After we got up and dressed quickly, checking the hall for smoke another announcement told us to disregard the warning.

The hotel is currently under construction. There was a smell of paint on some floors that is overwhelming.

The stay was great only issue was lack of electrical outlets or charging stations to charge devices. The outlets they did have were outdated and frankly a bit on the dangerous side.

Nice hotel on the Savannah River and close to historic River Street.

For this hotel to be off River St in a very popular area in Savannah, it needs some work. Sheets were torn, no hot water and when brought to the street ion management doesn't seem to care.

We booked what we thought was a two double bed for four adult room. We were told they didn't have a double bed room. We asked if we could get our money back and were told no. We were told they would bring a roll away. I have a 72 year old husband who is an ex Marine (husband says there is no such thing) who had prostate removed two years ago, 40 radiation treatments (1 year ago), and rotator cuff surgery 10 weeks ago. We did wind up sleeping on this roll away and I just roamed the lobby almost all night due to the roll a way being so small and uncomfortable. I went to the desk at 2:00am and complained again and the desk clerk's response when I told her that I was going to go higher and was so uncomfortable was "ok" and nothing else. You could tell she absolutely didn't care. Husband's arm is hurting from sleeping on this uncomfortable bed and hitting the rail on it so many times. This was a terrible hotel and very unconcerned about our comfort. Don't let the pictures fool you. Our view was of the roof underneath and air conditioners. Make sure you see the room before you put your things inside.

Staff unhelpful to handycap issues, heart patient, diabetic, asthmatic. I checked in and checked right right back out!!! Had a wonderful time at the Hilton Garden Inn.

Very nice hotel and great staff. Cost of room a little on the expensive side and especially since it doesn't cover parking fees.

Parking was a mess on the 4th of july, way to make none guests there. Hotel was great. I enjoyed it. Elevator was broken during our stay, but no fault of theres. I will return. Rooms could be a little cleaner, but overall not bad. TV didn't work, but so much to see out there anyways.

The hotel was lovely but not that conveniently located. The staff was very pleasant and helpful. I thought it was pricey and was annoyed to find out there was a parking charge of $21/day. The bathroom was not cleaned to my satisfaction either day we were there. I wouldn't stay there again and would not recommend it.

Great staff and very clean hotel. Great view and close to some nice attractions for the family.

Nice view and staff was great. Rooms were very nest and clean.

We travel with 3 yr old child and had great time there.

The property was great! Clean, comfortable and convenient to river front activities. The worst thing about the facility is that the self parking cost me $32! I think that rate is outrageous for self parking! that's the rate that I pay for valet in Atlanta!!!!

The staff and comfortable rooms deserve 2 thumbs up

Let me start by saying the staff were great. They were apologetic over the stuff below, but great staff only goes so far. The location is also great. An easy walk along the river. Now for the not-so-good... There's little attention to detail: I brought down one of the drinking glasses to the front desk to point out how disgusting it was. This wasn't, "Oh, I can rinse it out in the sink" kind of gross. This was "needs a solid washing in a dish washing machine because of the caked on grime." The shower curtains looked like they hadn't been cleaned in ages; they were covered in soap grime that was solid enough to keep the transparent shower curtain from being anything along those lines. There was hair in the hair dryer from previous users. There just didn't seem to be an overall "really clean" feeling about the place. The indoor swimming pool, by the way,was exceptionally cold (can't vouch for the outdoor one). Overall, the location of the hotel and the staff go some way toward rectifying some of the more core issues. "Some way" but not enough for us to stay there again.

We booked for the indoor pool and hot tub along with great location and price. There is no longer a hot tub and the pool is average. This use to be my favorite place to stay in Savannah.

I stayed at this hotel during a conference which was being held in the same place. The room was quite comfortable--especially the bed. I had plenty of space and a small balcony. As expected, the restaurant was pricey, the menu was so-so, and the hotel store was very small but convenient because the hotel's location is somewhat isolated--the nearest restaurant was a good 10 blocks away. Overall, I think this is a good hotel if you don't mind having to walk several blocks to find amenities such as a drugstore or a bank.
