Waiting for our room key after being “pre checked in” hours before. And the receptionist let someone cut us because they were pre checked in, receptionist didn’t even ask if we were as well and only needed our room key. Shower was FREEZING COLD!! We got stuck in the elevator. Fire department had to be called. All we got was a “sorry” when told fire was on their way. Never called back or checked on afterward. Stuck for 45mins. The bed was definitely broken in, back hurt so bad. Woke up unable to get back to sleep for hours due to the uncomfortable bed.

The staff was nice and housekeeping did a great job. The room was beach front as promised. The air conditioners were wall units and not the best at keeping the room cool enough. Perhaps a central unit would be a good consideration for the management/owners. Water pressure was not very good. However the location was good and the bed comfortable. Cable channels very limited. Food in Tybee leaves much to be desired and activities on the island are few. Florida is a much better choice for a vacation.

My husband and I went with our son and his class to Tybee. The kids stayed at the 4H Burton Center and we chose to stay at a hotel. It was wonderful to go back to the hotel after 10-12 hrs with the kids and take a hot shower and climb into a cozy bed for the night. If I make it back to Tybee for any reason I would stay at the Desoto Beach Hotel.

The folks at the front desk were the best I have seen for a long time...they turned a good stay into.a.great one...nice facilities.and great location..

Booked a great get away package, Was not in control of the weather, but we did have a wonderful time exploring. Flight cancellations extended our stay, staff made us very welcome.

The hotel has a great location on the beach. Checking in was very pleasant, Susan was very nice and helpful. Room was clean, but there was an issue with the toilet plumbing. It would not flush completely. Called guest services, he used a plunger and claimed it was fixed. It was not. He took us the plumbing was old. His suggestion was to use less toilet paper? Apparently he was a heavy smoker, you could smell it as soon as he arrived at the door. The other problem we experienced was the back cover on the t.v. remote falling off each time we picked it up. I had planned to mention these issues at check out. When I handed the room cards to the lady at desk, all she said was I'm good to go. Nothing about my stay or experience. That was a first for any hotel. I don't see me staying at the Desoto again.

Right on the beach! Really clean hotel - you can tell that it's an older property, but they have updated it and it is very clean. We had a room with two queen beds, large flat-screen tv, mini-fridge and microwave - everything you need! Good wifi included with room. Ample parking. Close to shops and restaurants.

The best part of this hotel is it's location on the beach. The desk staff was friendly and we got in our room quickly. The room was an adequate size, with two queen beds. The interior needs to be refreshed and our curtain fell down when I tried to open it.

Only dislike was the noisy road between hotel and the beach.....otherwise was very nice, newly remodeled

My mother and I decided to honor her mother, whom we lost last year, by a trip to places we used to all come when we were younger: Tybee and Savannah. We started our trip at the DeSoto Beach Hotel, which was just perfect. Susan was a warm welcomer, and we had a great room right near the beach! I would definitely stay here again :-)

Great hotel on the beach. Just a 15 min walk on the beach to reach the Pier. Amenities include - Heated pool, game room to play a game of pool or sit & enjoy the beach. Internet provided, free daily breakfast

Went down for the night to take engagement photos, nice hotel for not alot! Pretty room, right on the beach, relaxing, lovely staff. Around the sink was some grim but over all very clean! We even got a early check in! Breakfast was okay, but it wasnt bad! Loved our stay over all, definitely want to come back!

Staff was friendly and room was super clean. Cant beat the location right on the beach. Would definately stay here again!!

Right on the beach. Nice continental breakfast. Friendly staff.

This hotel was nice for the price. Right on the beach and the room was very nice. It had a microwave and mini fridge which was great for leftovers and lunch stuff. Bring your own alcohol as there is no bar on site. The pool was a bit small and I thought it was strange that towels weren't provided for the pool or ocean. Breakfast was simple and just ok. Overall, a clean and nice hotel and I loved that it was at the quieter end of the island. The pavilion and restaurants and bars were a quick 5 minute drive south.

Hotel was in a good location. Woke up and walked straight to the beach. Nice free breakfast. The kids (5 and 8) enjoyed it!

It was a nice hotel to celebrate our 41st wedding anniversary. The room I booked was a regular but we ended up with a great room with an ocean view at no extra charge. The front desk was helpful and great suggestions for dinner. They also suggested an affordable taxi service for getting around the island. Overall for our trip to Tybee Island it great experience.

Beach was very rough from shells instead of sand. But it was nice, quiet and not very crowded.
