Well I didn’t pick this hotel - my employers did. The positives.... Good location, large rooms, pleasant efficient receptionists The rest...... Well first day I arrived at 7.10am to breakfast (which starts at 7). In a nutshell everyone had started early and it was gone - literally gone and it was not going to be refilled. So I was left with pancakes, some cheeses and salad. The eggs didn’t look edible and the orange juice, for a city that has a lot of fresh juice bars, providing squash is not acceptable. I ate every morning after at some of the local restaurants The WiFi - well if you reminisce of mid 90’s dial up speeds and efficiency then you’re in for a treat. It was almost impossible to get a decent signal. I had to walk 5 minutes to another hotel or into the shopping centre to get anything done. There are better places.
This hotel is quite old and the room we had was tiny. Hardly room for us and our 2 cases. Very sparse bathroom amenities. The breakfast was average and not warm or replenished often enough. It is within easy walk of old town and main shops which is it’s saving grace.
The hotel has an excellent position close to the center and Bascarsija, and that's the only advantage. Rooms and bathroom are clean but there are some things to fix. There is a strong smell of moisture on the corridors. Food is average but the biggest complaint is to the unkindness of the staff especially the receptionist. It is far from Bosan's well-known kindness :(
This is a very basic hotel, clean and tidy but run down. The corridors have a damp, musty smell. The room we stayed in was just about passable. The bathroom was tiny, but clean. The breakfast was surprisingly good though. I wouldn't recommend this hotel to anyone. We stayed here only because we were taking a tour with COSMOS.
I stayed as a single within a group comprising 7 pairs and 3 singles. My room was fine but management hgadnt communicated to the room staff that 7 rooms needed sufficient linen, towels, and pillows for 2. One room only had 5 squares of toilet paper. Really Fawlty is the upstairs then downstairs access to breakfast room when level access was available.
I’ll be brief. The beds need replacing as do the pillows. The bathroom is tiny. The room was clean but very small ( I suspect we were given a single room as when we got there there was only one pillow, one Donna, one towel. You get the idea. It’s is however in a great location.
The best thing about this hotel is its location. If you are in Sarajevo for shopping and Buyukcarsija, this is one of the best places to spend time. The rooms are clean. Wifi works quite okay and the staff is friendly. P.s. The wedding events should end latest 00:30, not later.
We came in a rather warm April and I think the aircon is preset to warm but thankfully the first night was quiet and I opened the window. The maid turned it to cooler the second day so that it was much cooler the second night which was very nice as it was a little noisier outside. The reception area was serviceable. The corridors to the rooms unfortunately looked and smelled old and musty as did the room on first entering but airing helped. The room was reasonably spacious and clean, bed also clean and comfortable. Bathroom appeared recently refurbished and bathroom floor resealed with waterproofing paint. Furnishings were a little dated but adequate and clean. A big plus was the fact the hotel is right in the heart of things and a short walk to the eternal flame and old town pedestrian section - so it was very convenient . The hotel I notice says no smoking in the rooms now which will help 100% with odours but when we had the air conditioning on the second night, I could distinctly smell cigarette smoke, but it seemed to dissipate after a couple of hours - or we simply got used to it. The room had everything we would need and even the hair dryer was better than in the four star hotel we had in Zagreb. The breakfast I found very good actually. The bread rolls were wholemeal and seeded and nice oat cereal, fruit and yoghurt. Hot and cold dishes as well. It's a good three star hotel in the middle of the city, old and musty in the hallways but the rooms were comfortable and the price was half that of the four star.
I highly recommend this hotel for all people who love warmth, specially those who come from Middle East and countries with hot weather, during the winter. Hotel rooms are so warm and welcoming, clean and cozy. There is nice salon at the hotel with great massage for relaxing and also all services for ladies such as facial, hair treatment etc. Food is the best, very tasty. try their warm soups (chorba) and main dishes, they are made with organic food and very yummy. Cranberries home-made tea is unique. Everything is so amazing and hotel is located in city centar near Old town and near tram stations. There are museums, shops, malls, theatres, cinemas and everything else around. If you are changing climate and want to be cozy then choose Bosnia Hotel for staying in Sarajevo.
