Unwind Hotel is a little gem just off the main road in Susukino. It's a short walk to the ice sculptures during the annual Sapporo Snow Festival. There is a currency conversion kiosk across the street (don't covert your dollars to yen at the airport). Space is always limited in Japan, so this isn't a knock on the property, just be prepared for no closet in your room. This isn't a problem for light travelers or backpackers. The staff is very helpful and courteous.
If your looking for a good, clean hotel in the center of Sapporo, then this is a great option. Breakfast is included- though this consists of soup and bread. Tried it one day, not my cup of tea. Then again it is free. Checkout is at 11AM there is a ¥2,000 charge for every extra hour. This seems a bit exesive given the nightly cost of the hotel. Hard to beat for the price!
