I live in Rio and visit Sao Paulo once or twice a month. This is simply the best hotel for the money I have found there. The staff is consistent, knowledgeable and friendly, the amenities four star and the breakfast buffet outstanding
There were three things that made our stay at this hotel a bad experience, and two are directly related to the hotel: First of all, and for this, the hotel had no fault, is the location. The location not in terms of distance (actually is very close to Pinacoteca and Mercado), but because it is located in a neighborhood full of trash, homeless people, not-so-fancy bars and it made us uncomfortable and not willing to take a walk from the hotel. The second was the condition of the room we got (203), that was not clean at all (dirty towels, smelly bedspreads), the view to an alley full of trash and homeless people, and a lot (and I mean a lot) of noise. And third, and what made me most angry, was that our bags were opened by the cleaning staff. We are sure of that, because we left our bags closed, with the zippers in certain position (we even took pictures of the bags and their zippers), and when we got back in the afternoon, they were in a completely different position. Fortunately we didn't notice anything missing, but there's always the feeling that there may be something missed we are not considering. Definitely never coming back to this hotel.
My visit to Brazil was for business, and the hotel lived up to my expectations and was really value for money. The room and other facilities was very neat and general service very good. The location very good and in close proximity of facilities.
stayed here last week, the hotel is very nice when you arrive and the staff are very nice , and the restaurant served a good breakfast , however once in the room (suite) i found it to smell and was very dated and in areas not very clean , but worst of all was the constant noise day and night day time was traffic and building work on a side street and by night was the noise of people using the bars etc an the street.
Well located close to subway station. Just 2 blocks away. It's a GLS area with a lot of bars and nightclubs. It's a bit dangerous after 9pm with some drugs users on the streets. Overall it's good and I recommend it
This is a marvelous old world hotel in the old center part of town -- Republica. Certainly not a 5 star with those amenities, but a charming hotel that is at the top of the scale for this price range. Splurge for a junior suite-- it will still be less than US$100, with breakfast.
Located just a block and a half from the Republica metro station, the rooms are pretty small, and the minibar on the room is very noisy, please I recommend to the manager, that change them for a new ones, cause all the noise that the you do not hear from the street you get it on the room with the minibar. The location is great for the metro access, but not quite good for walking after dark. avoid the location after 9 pm. The breakfast is enough to start the day, and they have a good fitness center, That was a reason to book here.
We arrived on a saturday night and the street was crazy. It was full of "alternativo" people. Brazilians use that term to refer about gays, lesbian, prostitution etc. The first impression was not so good but things change when you see the hotel. Really nice hotel, pretty clean and the staff is always there to help you. They have security to block the entrance from people outside.I went with two colleagues and we reserved three bedrooms. Single rooms bed are too small so you better pay the difference and get s bigger bedroom. Rooms with view to the main street are not the best choice. Housekeeping clean your room every day. WIFI internet is really great and available everywhere. The breakfast is included with the room rate. About this, they serve the same menu everyday but at least it's something! Compare to the prices of hotels in Sao Paulo, you should really consider this hotel. Maybe it is not located in the best area during weekends but from Monday to Thursday the place is not bad. There is a mini market and a peruvian restaurant right infront of it and a really good bar (brahma bar) about 3 blocks. If you want to walk around try to do it during daytime or until 8-9 pm. After that it does not look so safe. Taxis are always infront of the hotel. Would come back if I get to visit the city again.
This property is in a prime location in the city of Sao Paulo. Although the surrounding area is a bit "seedy", with a bit of common sense you'll be fine. Location-wise it's a great choice in that you're literally around the corner from several transportation options: including the express bus service which takes you from Guarulhos International Airport for about US$10, the metro(subway) and an abundance of city busses. Nearby is the Praca de la Republica which has a mix of the "seedy" side of Sao Paulo with street urchins, trans-sexual/transvestite "working girls" (just walk past them, they really won't bother you...they'll just try to solicit you). But on the other side of the Praca is major street shopping where you can go get just about everything - local food, bookshops, clothing, toiletries, etc. There's also a mall built into an older building called "Shopping Light'. Remember also, you have access to the metro which can take you to the major strip of Avenida Paulista. The hotel is very comfortable, clean and welcoming, offering a nice array of breakfast items served everyday. Start you day off with a great breakfast before you go explore Sao Paulo or conduct business. There's a supermarket across the street as well as a couple of "lanchonetes" (small café/lunch counters). Speaking Portuguese goes a long way as some of the proprietors speak limited English. I highly recommend this hotel for its quality and service. The staff is professional, welcoming and very accommodating.
I had a great stay at the bourbon hotel, SP. Staff was extraordinary. Very helpful.. Very attentive. I recommend this hotel for the adult traveller. It can be a rather busy place in the evening. But De gustibus non est distancing.
