Hi There, Writing this review from the hotel, just two words "Just Amazing. We are booked in the superior rooms with an excellent view to the sea. While checking in we were met by Nick (Nickos) who came down the street to help us carry our luggage to the hotel. The street that leads to the hotel is a little narrow for motor way. However this place is just amazing. Very clean and nice rooms. The rooms are quite large and opens to two balconies with the sea view. The room has all the basic amenities. The bathroom is also large with the large tub. Will definitely recommend this hotel and would look forward to staying here in our next visit. Thanks Nick for all the useful info on how to go about the island. Regards,
Great property in Fira. The staff at the hotel was wonderful without exception. Very helpful and welcoming. Visiting in the off season has downsides like 70% of restaurants being closed, but the upside is the lack of crowds and quiet. Went to Museum of Archeology, one euro entry fee, and had the place to ourselves. Prehistory Museum, 3 euro entry, maybe 3 other people. Both within 5 minute walk from hotel. The staff certainly helped make this vacation most enjoyable.
Everything you come to Santorini for are at walking distance - breathtaking view over caldera, walking paths, selection of restaurants and shops. Rooms are very nice and comfortable, with all amenities travellers need for perfect stay - aircon/heating, tea amenities. Rooms are very clean and inviting. Bathrobs and sleepers provided. Good continental breakfast has been served to room at time desired. Free wi-fi available and sustainable signal at every room. Roof-top rooms are the best choice because of beautiful panoramic terrace and sea view. Check-in fast, perfect eating place has been recommended and map of the island explained, very friendly and lovely staff. Ask for transfer from airport as it may be arranged by hotel (upon arrival you no need to wait for taxi).
Pros: Location: right in the heart if Fira Close to all the shops, restaurants, etc. Take the bus to the bus station from the airport. Don't hire a taxi. Waste of money. Then take 5 min walk to hotel from bus station. Hotel entrance can be hard to see. It is a glass door. This hotel is on a cliff overlooking the water. There is a bldg between this hotel and the water. If you want a water view then make sure you get an upstairs room. We had #8. There is a nice rooftop area for people to hang out, relax and have a beautiful view of the ocean. Freindly: the staff was super friendly. You could tell they really wanted to make sure we had a great time. Can't say enough about how helpful they are. Breakfast: breakfast in bed brought to you each day. Sweet! Cons: This hotel is in Fira and not Oia (pronounced ee-yah). Oia seems to be the more happening spot with nicer restaurants, better shopping, hotels with nicer views, hot tubs and pools with spectacular views, and more general "buzz". This could be a pro or a con depending on what you are looking for. No pool. No hot tub.
My husband and I stayed at the Theoxenia for three days in September and we couldn't have been happier that we chose this hotel! Upon our arrival, we were greeted by Efi. What a wonderful person to welcome the new guests! She was SO helpful, giving us tips about things to see and do on Santorini. She then took us up to our room, overlooking the caldera. What a breathtaking view! I actually cried, it was so beautiful!! We sat on our balcony every evening with a bottle of wine, and enjoyed the gorgeous sunsets! Later we had the pleasure of meeting George. He, too, was extremely helpful!! Efi and George are wonderful people to represent this hotel and I encourage you to get to know them. They were both very willing to share their culture and love of their country with us!!
This hotel location is perfect close to shops and restaurants. The morning and evening views are just amazing. Breakfast in your room and very friendly staff. Theoxenia Boutique Hotel is a very good option to stay in Santorini I really enjoy it!
This hotel is located along the main shopping alley, about 100m from Atlantis Hotel. It is important as the drop off point for vehicles are near Atlantis Hotel, and you will have to walk and lug your suitcases for the short distance to the hotel. Reception is on the 1st floor. If you want sea views, request for an upgrade to the upper floor. We didn’t as we can simply walk up to the rooftop patio to view the caldera, especially during sunset. Breakfast is included and is so convenient. You are either chose to be served at the patio or your room (based on requested time). Our room (No. 4) is spacious, has a comfortable double bed, with a large shower/toilet. Wifi is complimentary. Staff is friendly and helpful. They advised us what places to go, where to eat, places to avoid, airport arrangements, etc. Overall, we enjoyed the stay here as it is so convenient from the central location of the hotel to access all the places to visit. Highly recommended. Thank you.
We had a thoroughly enjoyable stay at Theoxenia Boutique Hotel. George met us on the street near the hotel, took our cases and led the way to the little hidden gem on the main pathway . We awoke on our first morning to a wonderful sunrise, the first of many sunrises and spectacular sunsets from the patio outside our room. The view of the Caldera from the patio was as good, if not better, as from any of the restaurants along the pathways. Our room, number 7, was a good size, the bathroom spacious with a large shower. Bed was very comfortable. Breakfast was delivered to our room every morning and we could either have it on the patio or in our room. Being close to restaurants and bars didn't cause a problem with noise, we could choose which windows to open or close accordingly. There are quite a few stairs, but this is par for the course in Thira, and the climb is well worth it! George and Effie, front of house staff, were so friendly and helpful, we felt like we were part of their family! Effie helped us print out our boarding passes, chased up tickets and confirmed our tour bookings for us. We spent our last afternoon enjoying the view from the jacuzzi and we were so sad to be leaving our little hideaway. We would highly recommend this hotel and hope to stay there again!
Theoxenia is one of the most beautiful hotels in Santorini. It has the view and the warmth of welcoming all guests. The street where it is located is a charger of the city. Must visit the street. It is a boutique hotel and serves only breakfast, but restaurants around can help for lunch and dinner.
Apart from the location there is nothing good about this place. The rooms are very small, continuous sound and cigarette smoke plaguing your breath and such a non value for money breakfast. I would not like to stay in such a pace. Ever. An old man at the counter explains for hours on places to eat rather visit! Very slow to respond to anything. The food sucks. The wifi connectivity is a farce
