Our time at Goulielmos Hotel was fantastic! The staff were so kind and did everything to make our stay perfect. The hotel is located in the small town of Akrotiri - a beautiful town with the oldest churches and castle on the island/the most authentic food on the island and most definitely the best prices. The hotel has a beautiful and very clean pool (full-service) with the most spectacular views of the volcano and all of the island. You can see Fira and Oia from your chair. If you rent an ATV/car (the best idea) you can get anywhere on the island in under 45mins. Goulielmos is very close (5-10mins) away from the Red Beach and Perissa Beach and has what we thought to be the best beach on the island within 5mins walking distance right below the hotel. The daily buffet style breakfast was full of homemade Greek dishes and left us full every day. The only negative thing that I could possibly say has nothing to do with the hotel but the fact that to get to the hotel you will have to take 2 buses from the airport (the stop is directly in front of the hotel) or a 40euro taxi. Still worth every cent. The location is away from the tourist crowds but was just what we were looking for! Would love to stay here again when I return to Greece!
