Was surprised to see some of the bad reviews this place got. The staff all seem really nice and sure the breakfast is basic but that's all you need. The rooms are a bit tired but they were clean and comfortable. The view is breathtaking and the walk to the center of Oia is quite pleasant. Would recommend watching the sunset from the front of the apartment as you can't get near the main spot in Oia with all the people! When we first arrived the room was tiny for 4 of us so luckily we were able to move to another for no extra charge. The air conditioning wasn't the best so on a couple of the hotter nights it wasn't so good. Overall very happy with the place and would stay again.
Just a five minute drive from the hustle and bustle of Oia but as peaceful as can be - Amazing views from the rooms, pool and breakfast area. The rooms are very quaint with the bed on a split level floor and the staff are very helpful. Breakfast is basic but to be fair is probably al you need - bread cheese ham cereal yoghurt tinned fruit etc Would definitely stay here again
So this “resort,” although somewhat outdated, was in the perfect location for our stay in Santorini. It was just on the outskirts of Oia, a small, picturesque Greek town, but well within walking distance and a relatively easy walk since there is a path that runs from Fira into Oia. There are a lot of tourists and near sunset everyone packs Oia to see the spectacular sunset. The road into Oia has a part we called the gauntlet where there was only one lane, the path ends so you need to walk on the road, and every type of vehicle is trying to get through. Watch out for side mirrors. Leaving the resort in our car was harrowing each time since the walls were built too high to see around and there was no parabolic mirror to help check traffic. We survived by driving cautiously. The resort is a series of rooms with loft bedrooms and generally nice balconies. The air conditioners are poor and our friends had to catch the condensation with a bucket. There is quite a breeze and when you could open the windows the rooms were comfortable. There are plenty of items in the rooms that need repair but to be honest with you, they weren’t so bad; I would even consider staying here again due to locations and price. The pool is okay but I question how often it is cleaned, not because it looked dirty but because it seems to me the people running the resort could care less about such things. The breakfast is to be avoided not just due to the bad food but the dishes were dirty as well. Walk towards Oia and have something at Mes Amies. The resort could use some updates and if you’re looking to be treated nicely, this is not the place to stay. The workers are indifferent. If you are like us, need a place to sleep, sit by a pool, and use as a hub this place worked fine.
Our airline lost my luggage, and our transport from the airport to the hotel dropped us at the wrong hotel. Once we found Atlantida, Peppi the hotel manager was outstanding. Granted her English isn't very clear, she has a heart of gold and did her absolute best to be accommodating. She was a doll our entire stay. George and his Mother own the hotel and are fabulous. George is a quiet soul, but smiles with honesty. His mother and her dog Mira are wonderful! The views are absolutely fantastic with a short 1.5 mile walk to Oia. Lay at the pool and take in the views, rent an ATV and explore the island. This is a beautifully located hotel, with just the right amount of accommodations but nothing extraordinary. The AC worked, we had a fridge and a coffee maker. The room was clean and was cleaned daily. The 3 pools are very well maintained and cleaned daily by the staff. Definitely recommend and would stay again!
I splurged on this hotel for a night, and it was TOTALLY worth it. Quiet and calm, it was at the other end of Oia. I spent the afternoon poolside, only leaving in the evening to walk the hiking path into Oia. The bed was comfortable, the view was beautiful. I got some much-needed rest here. Definitely recommend.
The views are amazing. The hotel was very clean, the staff was helpful and friendly. It's not a far walk from the Oia city center, bout 15 minutes, with a supermarket on the way. The breakfast was nice, hard boiled eggs, fruit, yogurt, and a variety of breads. The pools were clean and pleasant. As a family of 5 we enjoyed our time.
I am amazed that I didn't see any negative comment when I made booking. Now, I really need to write this review so that no one selects this hotel. The property looks nice and clean from outside. We were impressed when we first got to this hotel. I shouldn't complain when strong sun, blue sky, white buildings, and nice pool with the fantastic view are in front of me. Hotel receptionist was unfriendly, unprofessional and rude. She didn't have any welcome look. She greeted us like a robot. Her English was not clear so difficult to understand. I didn't feel welcome at all. She gave us a very brief introduction when she took us to the room. It was so obvious that she wanted to make business when we asked her to book us a dinner. She suggested another place where she could get extra charge. She gave me a verbal confirmation of late check-out but on the last day she complaint about it. "You Guys!" was how she called us. A/C in our room didn't work so that we called the technician to fix right away. He came and said nothing. That evening, we found A/C didn't work at all -- nothing came out and extremely hot. George sent us a poor fan. We again called for help. We finally got another poor fan. I didn't expect to pay $300/night for this horrible place. In the morning, we got complain from George. He was tired because our call bothered his sleep while we couldn't sleep the whole night. They gave us new room which was smaller. No one offered help to carry luggage. Breakfast was very low quality and looked dirty. Silverware is nasty with yellow spots all over. nice view on the top floor but food and service made it the worst ever. There was no "sorry" or any apology from the staff or hotel manager. it is not worth 570 Euro!!! I doubt how this hotel survives in this business if they continue hiring this reception, manager, and these hotel staff. I suggest the hotel owner to revisit their staff's performance. I travel almost every month for 20 years, this is the worst I have ever seen. This hotel really ruined my trip and my Santorini memory.
Atlantida hotel is all about the view. If you want modern this is not the hotel for you. If you want to lay in the pool and look out onto the ocean at the quieter part of town this will suit you. The hotel has clean basic rooms, you don't get the little extras such as shampoo that most hotels provide and the bath towels have seen better days. If you are over 6 foot tall the rooms may feel crammed for height space in the upper level (bedroom). The staff are pleasant and helpful. Breakfast is continental and very basic. It's a lovely walk into Oia, as the traffic is often congested due to small roadways and big tourist buses! Food is great in Oia, there is a taverna over the road from the hotel with authentic Greek live music but the food is average.
The views were great, but this hotel is dated and too unfriendly for the price point. It's also a fair walk to downtown, okay for us as we're active but could see it being too far for many. The owner or manager was very unfriendly, rushing guests and staff around. The rest of the staff was nice but it overshadowed them. The breakfast was at or below par.
Accuracy of Booking: We booked a room with a balcony which looked nice in the pictures on bookings.com; but what we received was a small, pokey room with no outside space and no light and just enough room for a bed, fridge and a small 2 person table, you could not even swing a cat and you were charged a top dollar for what should be described as 1970s and dates. After complaints, we were switched to a room with a small external balcony, but and loft like bed on which if you are over 5’10” you hit your head, but at least this had some windows and a small outdoor space. The bed was extremely small and uncomfortable and A/C only reached part of the room. 0/5 Location: The Villas are not at the GPS location provided, but a further at 36.4605860, 25.3928211 which is 388m further out of town, along either a busy road or an unlighted pathway at night. The location is actually 1.6km from the Oia blue church view point or which is about in the middle of Oia – so beware that you are paying Oia prices for not being in Oia. 1/5 Features: Yes there are pools and a nice caldera view – don’t count on anything more. 2/5 Facilities: Some pools and unwelcoming staff. 2/5 WiFi & Internet: WiFi is implemented by multiple Aps so that you have to connect to each one if you move to a different place and while the WiFi signal is strong, the actual bandwidth available is very poor (My tests indicate approximately 6Mbps ADSL for the whole complex). With the number of people at the complex of villas the speed can become very intermittent. 1/5 Cleanliness: Rooms are tired and dated, though seems to have been recently painted in an attempt to make them less gloomy. Rooms get cleaned, but towels feel like sandpaper. 3/5 Staff & Friendliness: Staff are unfriendly and it seems like you are imposing on them. 0/5 Breakfast & Food: No tea or coffee or water in rooms. The breakfast offers a poor choice with stained, unclean and partially rusty cutlery. Breakfast consists of bread, ham or cheese on trays out in the heat, juice, coffee, boiled eggs, watermelon, yoghurt and a few stale pastries. Having the lady from checkin standing in the corner smoking in proximity to food and people eating is poor and contravening regulations. In addition to complete the experience, you can also have the guy which clears tables leering most of the women during breakfast to create an uncomfortable ambience. 1/5 Value: This is exceedingly expensive for what should be rated as a 1 or two star establishment, which is charging 4 star prices. They then charge a fee of 5% on check-out for paying by credit card. Make an official complaint to bookings.com about this place. - 0/5 Comments: Worst experience by far of any accommodation in Greece. Also be aware that the airport or port transfer is in an non air-conditioned fiat driven by what appears to be the father of the establishment. In many cases you will have to wait for others as they combine transfers (but still charge you the same price). Overall this is one of the biggest rip-offs we have ever experiences in over 30 years of travel. Recommendation: Avoid at all costs - this location should be delisted from bookings.com as they are a fraud. Please read other reviews – as this place is is not rustic or chic it really is poor, a ripe off and should be avoided at all costs (even if it is the last place available with vacancies in Oia – there is a reason for that).
