Wonderfull hotel within walking distance of the shops and the old town. The room is large and everything is clean and organized. Breakfast in the morning tasty. would recommend staying there when visiting Santiago.
A large, comfortable hotel, Santiago is situated in the hub of the city and is an oasis boasting a beautiful garden and large pool and several restaurants. The rooms are spacious with great views of the city and surrounding mountains. Large shopping mall a few minutes walk away.
I can warmly recommend this hotel, very conveniently located close to a very nice mall. Great service and high quality rooms together with an excellent breakfast makes this my favourite business hotel in Santiago.
stayed a few days in Santiago on my way to Isla de Pasqua. The Hotel had a grand view of the Mountains. A wonderful Mall is just 2 blocks away with restaurants stores and a transportation center attached for Tour Buses. The staff was friendly and courteous. The rooms were spacious and well kept. 2 restaurants on the property were also very good.
The best asset of this hotel is the people that work in. They went above and beyond all the time and made my stay a memorable experience. The grand club team is amazing and will do anything they can to make you feel in your second home. I will miss this hotel and all the staff that work in.
The hotel is imposing and oozes upper class luxury. Since my stay there was for business, I did not suffer through construction and renovation noise. I imagine that, if staying there during the day, this may become an issue. For me, I was happy with the room and the meals. The staff was polite and friendly. I took the opportunity to run up to the Cerro San Cristobal, which is nearby the hotel. The route took me by the Zoo and I ran back on the opposite road on the way back...and got disorientated. I did make it back and it was a welcome sight getting to this 'home'. It is not cheap hotel, but I enjoyed the stay and the views while there.
The view from the foyer looks great and clearly this was a special hotel when first built but my room on the first floor was pretty basic, although to be fair comfortable. There was also refurbishment going on so it was a little like walking through a building site to get to my room, which wasn't mentioned when I booked (but not noisy and the builders/decorators very polite). Breakfast was good and everyone very friendly and helpful in all parts of the hotel.
The hotel obviously was something great when it was built. The style is a bit dated but the room was quite comfortable. Bathroom was lacking in cleanliness and maintenance. Restaurants aren't great, breakfast was OK but not varied on a daily basis, room service food selection was good & better value than the restaurants. There is a mall 5 mins walking distance that had some OK restaurant selections. Common areas were extremely cold, room had heat so room temp was fine.
For the hotel istallations they should have better staff. Room did not have water and renovation work was too noisy. Dinner was overpriced. The hotel is new with beautiful installations could be better managed. First day was fully charged even arriving in the morning and no service was done. I expected a lot more from a gramd Hyatt. Check out was not done timely.
The Grans Hyatt in Santiago has been during several month under CONSTANT renovation and construction. Workers are noisy. Hotel rents out rooms on floor were active renovation of other guest rooms is in process. This is disturbing. Until these renovations are not completed, I would NOT recommend use of this hotel.
