This property is a nice place to stay, close to modern shopping malls, transit lines and commercial buildings. It is an interesting structure with much wood grain and stone in it's design, decidedly from the 1980ies. Though I was there in September, before the spring thaw, there are many flowers starting to emerge and the vistas of the snowcapped mountains was impressive. The breakfast was comparable to what I'd expect in a similar European hotel, but the dinner menu seemed short, but was a quality meal and a reasonable price. The staff were friendly and helpful, though not proficient in English were very pleasant and willing to help. I'd also recommend that you buy bottled water when you are off the property to save money. There is no elevator to the upstair rooms. Also, don't take an upstairs room if you're traveling with small children as the stairways are open, There's a nice hand rail, but hold their hands!
Santiago was packed when we were there in April so everything was extremely expensive, especially this hotel in terms of value. The hotel probably hasn't been refurbished since the 80s. The rooms in particular could use a facelift. The hotel hosts functions (weddings and corporate events) late at night into the early hours of the morning and the rooms are close to the function rooms and are not soundproof so extremely noisy! And staff receive complaints all the time but can't do anything about it.
If you're looking for a charming small hotel with a typical Chilean feel and friendly helpful staff, then look no further. This is not a swanky new glitzy building - there are plenty of those around if you want a modern chain style hotel - but what it lacks in mod-cons it certainly makes up for in traditional styling and a friendly welcome. The rooms are looking a little tired and in need of an upgrade but are well appointed, clean and comfortable although the bathroom in some rooms are very small. The breakfast is very good with plenty of choice and an ample supply of good tea and coffee. The hotel is quiet and the location is great, being just a few minutes walk to the metro station giving easy access to downtown. All in all a great place to stay if you want to feel as though you've visited the real Chile!
We did not stay over, but had a very good time at a wedding party at this hotel. The neighbourhood is really nice and quiet. The ceremony was very intimate, although we could hear other weddings' music. Finger food wasn't great, but drinks made up for it. Dinner was alright, but the hot soup half way though the night was a blast.
It has excellent gardens, very clean and well appointed rooms, very accommodating staff, a great restaurant and bar, free Wi Fi and a very peaceful atmosphere. It is a nice place to get away from the craziness of the city. Rooms were average but perfectly adequate and clean. I would certainly recommend this hote
The hotel was very beautiful, the furniture inside was very nice, the staff always very kind and efficient. We slept there for 2 nights and we went to Chiloè Island. The Hotel is very near to the center of Puerto Montt, you can go walking and reach the harbour
A wonderful hotel, with superb breakfast included. Staff is extremely helpful. Hotel is spotless, beautiful garden setting, a true oasis and very affordably. Rooms are all different is style and layout, some are better and larger than others. A great jumping off point to see the city. Easy tot get in and out by car as well. 2 blocks from the Metro system.
This hotel for sure not 4 star, as they positioned themselves. Good situated in Santiago. Close to mall Parque Arauco (2km). Room upstairs (2-3floor) required renovation. Normal breakfast (repeat only for 3 star hotel). Don't have elevator at all.
I said vintage but it really need some improvements in rooms. Any way we got a room with a beutiful view of the (still with snow) chilean Andes. In average the room was comfortable. Location is the best, 20 mins walk to parque Arahuaco and some malls in Las Condes district. Lots of good restaurants close to the hotel. give it a try to the hotel's happy hour. Staff is the best, they are always friedly and ready to help. Food is good, morning buffet has a lot of options and variety for any taste. We asked for a different option of eggs and they made it for us. This is a plus. Facilities are old fashion, really nice.
This hotel is about five minutes from the Santiago International Airport and roughly half the price of the on-airport hotel. The free shuttle is efficient and makes this a reasonable choice. The hotel itself is no big deal. It is clean, more-or-less efficient and average in every way. The breakfast that comes with the room is absolutely inedible. The eggs were burned to the bottom of the serving pan and the bread days old. But if you don't care about the breakfast and the location counts, it's a good choice.
